Re: A puddle of leaks action-group-bill-cooper-john-ruane-1993.pdf A report and information about a scientologist-run political group called "Action". John Ruane Mike Costello Bill Cooper "Action" group
Re: A puddle of leaks "The Hidden Story of Scientology (1980)" shows one very important thing: When you go to read the "Apology from the Australian Government" you find that it is NOT the Federal Government, but a member of the State of Western Australia that says this, and since legislation on this is done per state, this did not affect the legislation of ANY OTHER STATES. The repeal of the ban in Victoria happened in 1982, and the motion came with a decidedly different statement, from Tom Roper, Labor Minister for Health. Pages 719-720, Hansard, 3 June 1982:
Re: A puddle of leaks I'm getting wet just reading this! err.. from the puddles.. yah know how their wet and all. TMI? Seriously though, good posts OP!
Re: A puddle of leaks I can't read the blue paper. The PDF appears to be all people saying that Scn. is a Real religion.
Re: A puddle of leaks Just read (well, skimmed) the pack about the group 'Action' -- really interesting. Here's a little summary for y'all tl;dr folks: It seems that in 1993 a Scientologist named Bill Cooper (no relation to the famous conspiracy theorist, although there are some similarities) started this group, 'Action', which focused on some crazy (well-established, but crazy) theories about the Federal Reserve being evil. The group, as you can see in the packet, was essentially a pyramid scheme. (You pay $30 for membership, sign up 3 friends, get a $10 commission for each, sign up more friends, make more $.) Not much to do with CoS, except that Cooper is a Scientologist (still is, at least thru 2002) and includes a sheet of LRH quotes on civic responsibility (which are actually a little chilling) in 'Action' materials. Another Scientologist named John Ruane catches wind of this, smells bs, talks to a lawyer who informs him that yes, this is illegal, and writes up the report we have here. Basically Ruane comes off as a good guy -- most of the report is Ruane dismantling Cooper's arguments using a minimum of tech (although it's there) and a maximum of plain old logic and facts. So it's an interesting little story, well worth posting, but not much dirt on the CoS if you're just looking for that. (Unless, of course, Cooper was being funded or encouraged by the CoS, which is pretty unlikely given the fact that, as Ruane argues, some of the people Cooper's attacking agree in principle with the CoS's advocacy of the abolition of income tax.) A few interesting tidbits: -The packet includes a really fabulous "'Action' Survey for Americans" that this Cooper nut put together, including some really great leading questions in the section "Did You Know?" (You're supposed to answer Yes or No.): "Did you know you have 3 votes?", "Did you know ALL of this countries [sic] economic and financial troubles have been factually traced to the Federal Reserve Bank?", "Do you believe there is a conspiracy to destroy American freedom?", "Would you like to see proof that J.F.K. was assassinated partially because he was going to inform the American public of this conspiracy?", "Want to know how to get traffic tickets dismissed?" -Ruane has this to say about the Congressional Joint Economic Committee (pp. 39-40): (on Vice Chair Sen. Paul Sarbanes) "By observation, he has a long comm lag. He periodically slurs his speech to the point of incoherentcy. [sic] (In my opinion, possibly as a result of drug or alcohol use.)" (on Chair Rep. David Obey): "...wrote 64 bad checks on the House Bank, and is clearly a 1.1." (This means gay, right?) -Ruane's last public completion was in 1992 (John Ruane - Scientology Service Completions | Truth About Scientology Statistics Project) and he seems to have recently been selling off his CoS material on eBay at cut-rate prices (eBay Feedback Profile for john.ruane). (Plus, confirming my sense that he's a good guy, his feedback is uniformly positive!) The moral of the story? There are some decent people in Scientology, but the smart ones blow sooner or later.
Re: A puddle of leaks "Ex" delivers again. After all, who do you think collected and saved all this crap? But you can do with it whatever you want.
Re: A puddle of leaks Hey, wait, are you Ruane? Is that why you have that report? If so, congrats on your ex-hood! If not, congrats on your ex-hood! If you don't want to say, congrats on your ex-hood! And thanks for the leaks!
Re: A puddle of leaks On second thought, don't answer that. Stupid of me to ask someone's identity. Just enjoy your exness.
Re: A puddle of leaks Don't start this shit. You're posting anonymously on an Anonymous website. Anons didn't get caught up in all this "crap" like you did, but we're fighting the "crap" aren't we? We were happy to see the leaky leaks and we were showing you love and you snap back that you're an "ex" and not an Anon? My downloading stops nao.
Re: A puddle of leaks *Really?* I didn't read it as "snapping back" at all. More like a rueful joke, self-directed if anything.
Re: A puddle of leaks "After all, who do you think" IS a rude way to clarify something. (I didn't make that post, but agree with the Anon who did.) Some exes seem to want kudos for leaking things they saved from when they were in the cult. They forget that most of us were never in, but yet still work as hard, or harder, to bring the CoS down.
Re: A puddle of leaks /r/ domelock for this thin-skinned faggot. teach you how to SQUEAAAAALL LIKE A PIGGIE BOY YEE HAW
Re: A puddle of leaks some exes are worse off than others and anons patience never ceases to amaze me and sometimes even vice versa but rare lol just happy to be part of the cult going down down down that and
Re: A puddle of leaks I wrote this ^^ but didn't notice the "Downloading stops nao" baawww. Carry on.
