I was serious when I said I was sorry. I was also trolling kinda. Because there is nothing I can say. I don't "celebrate" thanksgiving
I just eat dinner. But I also eat dinner with family and friends on MANY other days of the year.
All commercial holidays are bullshit IMO and are just an excuse for retailers to make money. I was brought up Catholic, (no longer Catholic for like a hundred years now) and I still can't figure out what decorating a tree, and exchanging gifts has to do with Jesus Christ. Not trying to get into a religious war here. This is just MY opinion.
My family hasn't exchanged gifts for YEARS for Christmas. How much crap do you need? It's just stupid and a waste of money.
Family and people getting together and spending time together (and ONLY if it is enjoyable) should always be a focus in your life and only IF you enjoy it. And this should be done on many days during the year, not just on these made up holidays.

Thanksgiving is a celebration of the harvest. That transcends all barriers among people.

If nothing else, for many it's a couple days off. Can't really hurt.

Thanksgiving and Christmas are there to make those of us living in the Northern Hemisphere less suicidal when it's cold and dark and bleak and there is nothing to do but drink yourself into a stupor. Sometimes though, the holidays just make the misery worse. Like, if you're recently divorced and you start thinking about the good times you once had together as a family but will never enjoy again.

Oh I'm just kidding. I love turkey and pumpkin pie and egg nog.

But I agree with the belly button comment. Our ancestors are the same. And we should be thankful that they were tough buggers who survived and had children in spite of all the hardships they faced.
