Re: Assaults! Sydney - 16th January, 2010 I get all the "he assaulted anons and should be paying for it" but i don't get why the anons all went bonkers afterwards. Are we not supposed to play it cool? legally anons do have the advantage... but PR wise that video make the anons look like angry/borderline dangerous protesters. I know under the spur of the moment things happen, but on the LONG run after the assault happened, when he was already in police hands, anons kept screaming and i'm not even sure at the end if they were insulting the scilon or the cop. a kiss seem light for people to go berserk. i find the most offending part is the one where he grab the camera of the other. kissing without consent is to be pursued legally, diseases risk and all (up here, spitting on someone's face is agravated assault) I can't read through 50 pages of herro BS and people all fapping each others on this story being awsome. anyone with a decent answer to this can just PM me? or explain it here, i'll look this thread from this post onward. not a long answer, but something from someone who got more insight than I have from all the way across the globe? Was they really such huge tension between the scilon and the anons, was they past assaults or something?
Re: Assaults! Sydney - 16th January, 2010 Supposedly, aaron's got a restraining order filed against him by the cos, but nobody's seen it, including aaron. Although he called a cop, the cop confirmed it, but then somebody else went to a cop and asked and they didn't know nothing about no restraining order. Jump to protest day. A bunch of anons are walking around wearing their masks as hats, and the kissy dude asks tamphex where aaron's at. After tamphex says, 'he'll be right back,' the kissing bandit hands one protester a card indicating that he's a laywer then proceeds to run at (an incredibly cute) protester. He grabs the protester and goes in for a smooch. Which was weird and is a potential footbullet. As he's walking off, tamphex abandons ghandi-tech, grabs him til the cops show and some idiot starts singing 'we got that on camera' to the tune of I Know Something You Don't Know. This ruins the raw footage. The cops come to escort the kissing bandit away and anons follow. One cop asks them not to, says something about due process, and the anons continue to follow anyway. tamphex posts info and wwp deconstructs for 55 pages. Pro: found info on the lawyer from his card; anons learn what they might do differently in the same situation; demotivational poster; plan to contextualize, edit and reupload the footage; and a bunch of stuff I didn't even Con: 55 pages. tl;dr - yes. we're supposed to keep our cool.

Sydney - 16th January, 2010 Thats usually the plan but no real damage seems to have been done yet. the video is not getting much attention, and that is too bad( imo) Any press is good press for us these days, and you are welcome to disagree but I think that the cops might handle things like buckets of water being dumped on protesters in the future because of this. Ya, gives you a weird feeling doesn't it. things are tense in OZ for all involved, I am not trying to excuse anything but if you are worried about public opinion, just remember that public opinion for us has never been seriously damaged. Hell after 50 years people still won't listen to Scientology abuses for more than an hour news program that is saying they steal children, and coerce abortions. its been the better part of a week and nobody outside of us and the people involved remember anything about it.
