I had problems, too. Closed the browser and suddenly lots of xeno-windows popped up (I clicked several times).
Now running both, forum + stream.

The vote will be No to an inquiry today. However, there's a lot more support.

There will be another vote in four weeks.

    Chris Evans repsonds:
Acknowledges concerns. Reports in media, disturbing. No fan of sects. But...
Strongly against senate processes that don't fit the role of the senate (woffle woffle). Worried about singling out an organization. Senate is not a court of law blah blah.....police appropriate authorities blah blah.
Has some appeal but some serious concerns. Trying to assist Xenophon to find a way through on this.
"So the government won't be supporting this proposal by Senator Xenophon"

Looks like will be a No vote today.
But Chis Evans states he is willing to follow the issue through with Xenophone.

The opposition won't support it either but, after speaking to the visiting ex-scientologists yesterday, has promised to report to the Fair Work Ombudsman to look into the cult regarding wage/work violations.

Re: Aus Senate 2nd vote on inquiry - Thurs 18 March

He compares parents "ordering" abortions of daughters child with a mafia organisations having access to own laywers + millions of $. Weak.

edit 2:20 local time: Senator Xen. just pointed to that - great guy.

Ich könnt ihn schütteln!! Co$ is political! They have Nazi-like Ober- / Untermenschen!!

Re: Aus Senate 2nd vote on inquiry - Thurs 18 March

At least it sounds like Abetz has a bee in his bonnet about the coerced abortions....but...
    there won't be an inquiry

I think Milne and Abetz should get in a room by themselves and duke it out. lol

Abezt is a former lawyer. speaks volumes.

He is telling people to take these allegations to the proper departments

    Xenophon back up

    HE ROCKS!

He says he thinks the government is acting concered (in other words) and at least there is a shift in attitude for the better( not his exact words)

I only got 8 minutes of Xeno's initial speech, but I am glad I hung on til the end of the discussion.

Re: Aus Senate 2nd vote on inquiry - Thurs 18 March

The lengthy rhetoric by the opposition is very telling. I think it is clearly unpopular to be voting NO , so they have a hard time explaining it in view of the shocking allegations.

Xenophon says it will be up again in the next Senate meeting after the break. "It won't go away".

oh well. I am done. I will catch up.
Xenophon won't let this go. that's a huge win and Milne was glorious
Although not a total win today ... wins were had.

Re: Aus Senate 2nd vote on inquiry - Thurs 18 March

    Xenophon dispels "witchunt" rhetoric.
Also says that by not supporting an inquiry it gives a green light for anyone to call themselves a religion and abuse people.
