    Perry Chapdelaine-
'People had breakdowns quite often,' said Perry Chapdelaine, a Sears Roebuck clerk from Mason City, Iowa, who was a student at Elizabeth. 'It was always hushed up before anyone found out about it. It happened to a guy on my course, a chemical engineer. They wanted to get him out of the school and I volunteered to stay with him in an adjoining building. He never slept or ate and was in a terrible state, no one could do anything with him and in the end they took him off to an asylum.' - Russell Miller from an interview with Perry Chapdelaine, Nashville, 25 April 1986

Perry Chapdelaine, whom Hubbard had placed in charge of the project, insisted years later that Hubbard "'thought with Allied Scientists he could control war and in that way control the world. That was what he wanted, no question" (quoted in Miller, 1987: 198).

404 not found on that link (it's hidden in a html comment on the list with a note to find an alternative working link)

Dennis Stephens is already on the list (middle initial added)

All these Reconnection PDF files are unviewable on non-adobe pdf readers like Foxit and Sumatra which means I cannot add so many names with that link to the wiki myself knowing others will have the same trouble viewing them, until someone either converts it to raw text/html and hosts that somewhere (on the wiki would be great!), or can get a link to google's html version which I was unable to.

Re: Big List Of Ex Scientologists Who Have Spoken Out

98% of all web users use the free Adobe Acrobat reader to view documents - only tech savvy people use other readers (which are generally annoyingly installed when the user adds a PDF writer app to their system)

As PDF is a standard format, if it can't be read on everything then it's probably been saved with an incorrect version of the Adobe Acrobat core specified (or maybe the file is corrupt)

Either way, if it opens with the free Adobe reader then most people should be able to see it.

Steve & Ros Bisbey both died some years ago. Also I worked at Greenfields (when I was a Scientologist, now declared) & remember Alex Allen well, very nice boy. There were quite a few children that had to leave because their parents had been declared, it was very sad at that time but the staff were never told what was going on.

So glad you are out and stayed out. Thanks for sharing.
The kids in the Sea Org and other kids tangled up in COS are a major reason why I got involved fighting against the abuses of COS.

    Are you on the list?
We are hoping for more new names to add to the list.
If you know of any other ex's who have left and who have spoke out in a forum with their actual name, or an interview, or attended protests, OR decide that they finally want to come out and be added. Please let me know.

We are pushing for 1000 names by the end of the year!!

Re: Big List Of Ex Scientologists Who Have Spoken Out

Can someone explain the point of including the "deceased" info? It's going to be less and less possible to track the current status of everyone on the list accurately the bigger the list gets. There are people on the list that spoke out 46 years ago, so what if they died of old age since then?
  14. Anonymous Member

Re: Big List Of Ex Scientologists Who Have Spoken Out

It is not a list of people who are alive or dead. Scientology has always argued that there are only a handful of critics that make a big noise. This is a list of 1000 who have spoken out that each represent many more who are afraid. It is also so people who are thinking about speaking out will realize that they are not going to be struck by lightning if they do.
  15. Anonymous Member

Re: Big List Of Ex Scientologists Who Have Spoken Out

Without including both the year they spoke out and the year they died, the word "deceased" is pointless. This list will outlive everyone on it, and will be ludicrous in 100 years with that word next to every name.

    "To-morrow, and to-morrow, and to-morrow,
Creeps in this petty pace from day to day,
To the last syllable of recorded time" - Shakespeare (deceased)

Re: Big List Of Ex Scientologists Who Have Spoken Out

If people dont want to include "deceased" next to a person's name that's fine with me. I was just going by how we set it up initially.

Re: Big List Of Ex Scientologists Who Have Spoken Out

John Ausley is mentioned in "Messiah or Madman" in Pages 26-28

Talking about the inception of "heavy ethics" into the world of
Scientology, John Ausley (a feisty Floridian who joined the Sea Org in
1968 and quickly rose to a top position) says:

John McMaster seriously bottom lined on the chain locker. Kids
would get locked up in there. To John's mind you don't take a four-
year-old and put him down in a hatch, and batten the hatch so he can't
get out. You don't terrorize a kid..
Hubbard used a "shotgun" (right-hand mall who did his bidding)
called Otto Roos. Otto and McMaster were very different....
There was a dude who had been slowly working out of "doubt." He
was a mellow, friendly, shy guy.
    This was 1968.
You had to do 48 hours of non-stop amends in "doubt," at which
point you were upgraded to "liability." Then you'd have to do another
24 hours of non-stop amends - I'm talking about hard physical
labor - at which point you're upgraded to...non-existence."
You then have to do 12 more hours: with people all over your phys-
ical ass and your mental faculties. And as the person winds down, he
becomes more and more vulnerable. So it's a wild trip.
Anyway this was a kid who stuttered. Otto didn't like him.
I think he was about up to "non-existence" where he couldn't take it
any more. So he went to bed after three days. This isn't a guy's average
going to bed; when you hit horizontal you go out like a light!
    *A Seafaring Messiah* 27

Along about the second or third day, if you didn't continue in steady
physical motion, you pass out on your feet.
Anyway, Otto grabbed this kid out of an upper bunk in the middle of
a deep sleep, and body slammed him from five or six feet onto the
floor. He put a knife blade to his throat and started screaming he was
gonna kill him since he was a "down stat"!
Otto seriously freaked this kid out for life right there. I mean it
didn't help his stuttering at all! Some maniac with "upstat" braid, who
is Hubbard's right-hand shotgun, is going to slit your throat for being a
"downstat" - and all this instantly after having already been body
slammed from six feet up in the middle of a dead sleep.

    Also

    JOHN AUSLEY:

Hubbard had this big muster. We all lined up by division and stood
at attention while he talked and his messengers recorded it all on tape.
He made everyone stand at attention while he talked. He was running
a General Patton flow rather than an enlightenment flow.
I leaned out of line and just stared at him. And he was this physical
predator: like, "I'm making all these people stand at attention and I'm
    proud of it."
He was using the idea that the world was about to blow up, and he
had the only solution, as a recruiting method for slave labor.

I believe he died in 1995

But this should be cut down to something like this if it's confirmed, (it saves a lot of work) :

John Ausley -Sea Org, joined 1968, Florida. Mentioned in "Messiah or Madman"

Re: Big List Of Ex Scientologists Who Have Spoken Out

John Ausley can be found here on Pages 26-28 http://www.clambake.org/archive/books/mom/Messiah_or_Madman.txt

There is also a mention of him on this website Bent Corydon on NOTs

Also can be found here which is a copy of the text given in Messiah or Madman Bent Corydon on NOTs

He is also on a long list of people been decalred S.P. Here is that link Powered by Google Docs

There is no video, audio, or legal statement that I can find. It appears that he gave an intervew for Messiah or Madman. If I find any more I will post

Re: Big List Of Ex Scientologists Who Have Spoken Out

This is at the start of the list of the names given

The following is a list of people that have left the official Church of Scientology organization and have spoken out publicly against it. Although some of them still believe in the validity of the core precepts and practice them outside of the the Church of Scientology, all of them have denounced the legitimacy of the organization itself. The names are listed alphabetically by last name. As of the last count, there are 748 names on this list.

Any Scientologist that leaves ex Sci or Freezone should count,
because we are here to fight the abuse of Scientology nothing else..
What people believe in is none of are business.
But they do not have the Right to hurt others.. and because Scientology hurt,s others that give me the Right to protest them.

Ann Bailey is on the list and has got 2 links. She was in the Sea Org and is mentioned in the book "Messiah or Madman" on Page 122 and the following pages. This is from the book :
According to a sworn affidavit the following events occurred during
    this period.
Heidi Forrester (not her real name) joined The Church of Scientol-
ogy in July of 1974, just after having completed her senior year of
    college.

Heidi Forrester is believed to be Ann Bailey and here is her account of "Black-Sex Magic" with L.Ron Hubbard in late 1975. Here is the link The Roots of Scientology - Black Sex-Magic

Mary Jo is still a working believing Scientologist. So is Marty. So is Mike. So is Geir. So is Jason. So is all that clique of self-deluded people. Who are all deeply concerned to KSW. Bugger the lot of them.

We might as well include L Ron himself in this list.

This is a very remarkable list. We owe it to all the victims. But opposing DM does not equate with opposing Scientology.

Re: Big List Of Ex Scientologists Who Have Spoken Out

    Ok... rallied myself.
    found...

William Friske- testified in court about activities he was involved in with Robert Dardano that they did on behalf of the church.
Cult Help and Information - What Scientology Doesn't Want You To Know

This is what Friske did if anyone wants to know:
"Burglary of the Belmont office of a psychiatrist in order to steal files, the theft of documents from a Boston law firm, the systematic theft and destruction of books critical of the Church from libraries throughout New England, and the planting of a church member as a volunteer inside the state attorney general's office to intercept consumer complaints about Scientology."

it's kind of long to include on the list. but the link should be good enough.

You can also add the link for Friske to Dardano's name

Nancy Many is already on the list , but her new book info should be added.

EDITED the name is is Warren Friske not William Friske and it is already onthe list SORRY! I found this name when I was really sick, when I was fuzzy headed. I apologize!!!!!
