Scratch Marta Willson 8838 already on as Marta L. Willson - exact search has its disadvantages. Might want to add link to Marta L.

    Mike Sullivan 2965
    http://www.truthaboutscientology.com/stats/by-name/m/mike-sullivan.html
    http://www.petitionspot.com/petitions/stopscientology/signatures/2900
    https://www.google.com/search?q=scientology "mike sullivan"

http://www.ntskeptics.org/1991/1991july/july1991.htm#prozac ? Isn't Mike a reporter at the Tampa Bay Times?

ETA The Mike Sullivan from North Texas Skeptics wrote that article in 1991, and most of the completions are after that. There are also completions after the date of the petition signature, so scratch that one.

However, may well be the same as Tom Wright who is already on.

    ETA

The Elmira Star-Gazette article was in February 1988
which is almost 2 years before the earliest completion 1989-12-01

So it's scratched for this Thomas Wright.
  11. TrevAnon Member

Ok, went through all of them. It would be a good thing if someone else checked them. I'm sure I've missed some people.

ETA: as far as I could I edited my previous posts for the names that were confirmed one way or the other.

Agreed, someone other than us usual suspects would be extra helpful :)

TWO, FOUR, SIX, EIGHT! DIG IN, DON'T WAIT! (the only time I can use that based on the current count :p )

Guess it's mostly you, me and RightOn working on the list. Think about that, in the whole world just three people. :p

I will be able to catch up in a bit. Been crazy busy

So can the "moar source" for those who signed the 2005 petition be them signing the above ^ current petition?
  22. TrevAnon Member

I'd say that signing TWO petitions to get COS tax exempt status revoked is speaking out enough.

How do I do this again? I remember it being something using the preview option for you own post, like "edit", "more options", "preview" and then there was a link available, but I can't see that anymore.

    Halp? Incred?

    ETA NOW DONE

The trick was to reply to my own post, and then choose preview. Thanks.

    Done.
  25. Incredulicide Member

Yes, sorry I meant to say I middle-click on the "reply" link instead of "edit".
  26. Incredulicide Member

Scratch this one. Different Mark Murray
    http://www.nbcnews.com/id/14516390
"Murray, a native Texan, is a 1996 graduate of the University of Texas at Austin"

The Mark Murray in completions went Clear in 1983.

The Mike Sullivan from North Texas Skeptics wrote that article in 1991, and most of the completions are after that. There are also completions after the date of the petition signature, so scratch that one.

By "he" you mean the author of the enemy list was the one that reversed the names? Could've been a "she" :p
  30. TrevAnon Member

LOL. I meant David Sam himself. :p
  31. You might want to be a bit careful with such scratches. Often a Scientology completion is published a long time after it took place.

Wait, you mean not only did he get his own name the wrong way around, Scientology also got his name the wrong way around in completions, but the right way around in the enemy list? Highly unlikely. I guess this means a scratch.

Good point, but not in this case unfortunately. Since even if she completed the purif before writing that letter, then it makes no sense that she states she didn't learn what Narconon was until after reading the article she's responding to:
"After reading this article, I was not certain if I was looking at a paid advertisement for a treatment center, a listing for self-help group or a school. As I continued to read the article, a question came to mind: what exactly is Narconon?

The first thing that I discovered was that although the name itself is strikingly similar to other self-help or 12-step groups, and possibly purposely so, it is nothing of the kind."

This scratches the letter off as not the same Rebecca Smith.

ok this is getting a little confusing.
Please edit any posts/names that are not scratched and are not to be added.
If you can't edit, please ask a mod to edit for you.
  35. TrevAnon Member

Huh? I thought it was obvious that the sp list was in the format

    <last name>, <first name>

    It says Sam, David there.

On the petition however it is Sam David. So no comma.
  36. TrevAnon Member

    Done.

Couldn't edit Mark Murray, asked a mod to do so.
  37. Incredulicide Member

The Elmira Star-Gazette article was in February 1988
which is almost 2 years before the earliest completion 1989-12-01

So it's scratched for this Thomas Wright.
  38. Incredulicide Member

And the Completions also says Sam David. So two sources, including himself, have his first name as Sam. If we agree that David is the first name on that SP list then it's not evidence of Sam.
  39. TrevAnon Member

 So for now no for Sam or David or whatever?

Damn. Analyzing the petition site looks to have been much ado about nothing.
