What with (inter alia) the nun-suing and the Turin "church" raid, Italy really should be "clear"ing out now. This is good to see.

Happy New Year (nearly)! And the project goes on.

Guess what - think you missed a few names from these 2002 surveys, many of which went by their actual names. Even where they didn't (in here) they did elsewhere.

I don't see Richard Jalbert on the list I have (unless you've added him since?) I did one of those surveys myself, and I figured if I used my own name it would be public (I didn't use my real name at the time) It was one of the first things I'd ever seen on the Internet that showed people were concerned about the human rights abuses at the cult.

So, I am assume there be still afew folks working on the List's ressurection, has there been a new hosting of it yet, I mean without having to have a password?
Just asking 'cause I've post the origional link in a few places and people are now starting to ask wtf??, if someone has created a new one that directs to 'the list' there are more than a few who'd like to spread it around!
Its been an important project beyond what was expected, a beautiful PR piece, a great eye-opener, has opened more than a few eyes, even some ins and more than a few ex's are looking.
So. Wussup? If all that can be done is to link to this site's thread on it for now then so be it, but it'd be nice for easy access once again for the common folk, any updates?

Santa mod has reinstalled the wiki, we're halfway bak online!!

Once the big list wiki page is restored, there's some additional project tools now available from the Exit Zone Blog that can be added into the introductory infos at the top of the wiki page:

RSS Feed for subscribing to Big List News & Announcements: Big List Latest News

Online Submission Form for adding new names: Big List Submissions Form

Online submissions for Big List get relayed via email and will be posted in this thread for the usual vetting/checking before additions are made to the published list. The form is fully tested, and readily available on the link above for any ex-members who want their info added.

Both of these tools can be freely reused on other sites as well as the wiki. For using the rss feed on other websites - follow the exit zone blog link at top of this post to snag a readymade widget.

For using the online submission form on other websites - use the link above for access to the standalone version. There is ALSO a wide for variety of embed codes for blogs, social networks & html editors. A few commonly used examples as follows - post /r/ ITT if your tool/platform is not listed.

Wiki page partially recovered but still underconstruction:
    http://wiki.whyweprotest.net/Former_Church_of_Scientology_members_who_have_spoken_out

WARNING - This is old data, and I'm working out kinks on the repopulate wiki thread just to get it to the point where i can use my exisitng MSWord macros to spin a document that I can then run merge/compare on to redline the differences between this old version and the current version as of wiki crash. Then it will be easy to get it updated to where it was pre-crash.

    I just need Template:Exspace recreated/restored to proceed.

When I get my 'like' button back I'll come here and like the living daylight out of RO and you <3
  25. AnonLover Member

Additional Exit Zone tools i posted earlier ITT added to opening info, plus i spaced things out abit to compensate for Template:Exspace missing and got my make-document macros running again.

UPDATES NEEDED to make the big list current with where we were at when wiki crashed is shown in the following MSWord2003 merge and compare document:

    http://www.mediafire.com/?w915mcfzdw661p1

^^Additions and changes shown w/ track changes tool, so the red/underlined stuff is what needs revised on the current wiki page. To get a line ready for copypasta over to wiki: Right-click & Accept Changes to remove redlining effect first - then copy it (so that you can see/access hidden linkage)

Anybody familiar with using track changes in MSWord and got wiki know-how to halp carry over changes from merge doc to wiki that are needed to get the big list fully recovered?

I'll start at the top and work down one letter at a time starting tmo. Any other helpers who can lend a hand - feel free to grab the doc, and jump in during next 20 hours before i have free time to get back to this. and/or somebody can start at the bottom and work your way up, note progress here in the thread as letters get updated and we can meet in the middle somewheres.

Letter A names updated/finalized on recovered wiki page (couldnt sleep)

Names A-H updated/finalized on recovered wiki page to get it current with where we were when it crashed.

i've also been replacing WWP1.0 with WWP2.0 forum post links as i see them, and spread lots of comma/spacing issues out better where it causes mess with runtogetherlings when ported to pdf.

I believe it's "incredulicide", as in, the death of incredulity about the cult.
  31. AnonLover Member

me done - wiki page recovery now complete!
    http://wiki.whyweprotest.net/Former_Church_of_Scientology_members_who_have_spoken_out

as i was doing a line-by-line recon to get it synchronized with this confirmed cache dump from late Nov shortly after wiki went offline: https://sites.google.com/site/1000thathaveleftscientology/

i also did minor touchup copyedits as follows:
    • punctuation/hypens and spacing to eliminate runtogetherlinks that get screwy in PDF version
    • replaced busted WWP1.0 old forum post links with newer WWP2.0 links
    • added lots of missing links on widely known OG names that had sparse /b/ackup sauce to include ALL of the classic major milestone lawsuits, books, and major media coverage from yesteryears
    • added a few extra thru-the-door interview links on names that just had a measly forum post or blog comment link
    • added a few other misc links on names that had no links listed, and a couple references to 2010 CNN & BBC major mdia coverage to show Anderson Cooper & John Sweeney some well deserved linkage <3

Next Steps needed by a fresh set of eyes to bring Big List up to present time:

    1. Existing Total Count Check - fresh tally counted for total names indexed, and a adjustment made at top of the page to get rid of the temporarily warning line that recovery effort was underway, and note the new/correct total for whats now listed on the page
    2. ITT Catchup on new stuff - it looks like there was a few pending additions posted here on the forums just prior to the wiki outage that didnt make it into the cache dump backup. So methinks we need to pick up where we left off starting at post #723
    3. New Total Count Check - for all the ^^New stuff incorporated ontop of the freshly reconstructed version
HTH keeps the mojo going for carrying these fine efforts foward... i know what its like to loose a shit ton of wiki work from when wikileaks dropped the chanology research portal pages, and i lost my motivation with not having any extra hands on deck to recreate things from scratch again. Thus i thought a lil extra halp on getting the wwp wiki page bak on track for this project was worth taking time to show sum <3 & respect to those who have worked so diligently to get it this far.

    /SALUTE and /HandOff @RightOn & company

Looks like the new current total is 1359 names so far.
  33. AnonLover Member

Thanks, same number i got but was hoping my count was off cuz i was burned out from working on this nearly non-stop for several days straight. dammit- thats nearly the same discrepancy i came up with on the wwpbackup wiki version.

The original big list backup mirror here:
    https://sites.google.com/site/1000thathaveleftscientology/

^^Has a total of 1367 names, and unlike the recovered version in our restored wiki and the wwpbackup wikia version - the total at top jives with the actual line count. So it looks like I'm not done with recon effort yet, there's still 8 names missing.

brb... doing another full redline comparison (sigh)

Anonymous delivers. Hushpuppy is going to deliver too...? :p
  35. AnonLover Member

OK, second full redline comparison ran on recon wiki page vs. the sites.google backup, and another short list of changes carried over to get our recovered version back up to snuff.

copyedits on this pass included the following 9 names added, 1 moved name that got accidentally dup'd removed, and a dozen or so inline changes for better reconnection magazine urls and other related edits all applied.
so... plus 9 names, minus 1 name should (hopefully) give us a new grand total of 1367 names that will cleanly match with the big list backup sauce.

Can somebody with a fresh set of eyes gimme me another total count check?
  36. Anonymous Member

^^Now haz 1367 total names, same as backup sauce - good job! <3

whew! total count @ top of page adjusted, and under reconstruction warning removed
    http://wiki.whyweprotest.net/Former_Church_of_Scientology_members_who_have_spoken_out

the additional copyedits in my 2nd redline pass knocked several pages off of the backlog of posts ITT from after wiki crash that still needs incorporated.
