"This album from imgur, titled 4chan ThinkTank is probably the most definitive look at the internet hive mind at work. It's a mess of captions and blurry close-up photos that apparently show the work of 4chan members in trying to track down the bomber. Currently it has over 350,000 views. Most of these are repeats from above, but also identify a handful of additional brown people with backpacks, sort of like racist Where's Waldo."

Them walking by with their backpacks is before the explosion. See how people are not running scared during that time?

I wish we could have brought them in both alive. I want someone to study them and figure out what went wrong with their heads.

    From Slate:

    http://www.slate.com/blogs/weigel/2...ct_i_don_t_have_a_single_american_friend.html
Police have identified Tamerlan Tsarnaev, 26, as the "black hat" bombing suspect, killed during the manhunt that followed. Readers have pointed out that Johannes Hirn madeTsarnaev the subject of a photo essay, "Will Box for Passport," taken before the boxer competed at National Golden Gloves competition in Salt Lake City. The captions give us a micro-profile of the suspect.
Tamerlan, who studies at Bunker Hill Community College in Boston and wants to become an engineer, took the semester off from school to train for the competition.

Tamerlan fled Chechnya with his family because of the conflict in the early 90s, and lived for years in Kazakhstan before getting to the United States as a refugee.

Originally from Chechnya, but living in the United States since five years, Tamerlan says: "I don't have a single American friend, I don't understand them."

If he wins enough fights... Tamerlan says he could be selected for the US Olympic team and be naturalized American. Unless his native Chechnya becomes independent, Tamerlan says he would rather compete for the United States than for Russia.

Tamerlan says he doesn't drink or smoke anymore: "God said no alcohol." A muslim, he says: "There are no values anymore," and worries that "people can't control themselves."

This YouTube account may be Tsarnaev's.
    From Slate:
    http://www.slate.com/blogs/weigel/2..._bombing_suspect_is_dzhokhar_tsarnaev_19.html
The Associated Press reports that the two Boston Marathon bombing suspects in photos released last night have been identified. One is dead; the other is Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, 19, a resident of Cambridge, Mass. who immigrated legally to the United States.
And the great googling commences, made easlier by the suspect's uncommon name. (Dzhokhar is a common Chechen name. If the etymology holds up, the suspect is very literally Caucausian.) A "Dzhokhar Tsarnaev" was awarded a student scholarship by Cambridge in 2011. That year someone with this name was a wrestling "all-star" in the Cambridge Rindge and Greater Boston League. No, Brian Ross, there is no "Dzhokhar Tsarnaev" in the rolodex of Tea Party Patriots.
UPDATE: A "Dzhokhar Tsarnaev" has a profile on VKontakte, Russia's answer to Facebook, and his wall looks ... much like the walls of Americans with the names of terror suspects, but with more Chechen jokes. Avaaz's Ben Wikler pulls a photo from the page:

Boston Marathon Bombing Suspect At Large Named As Dzhokhar Tsarnaev By Officials

    By Jessica Elgot

The surviving Boston bomb suspect has been named as Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, 19, of Cambridge, Massachusetts, US officials have said.

His 26-year-old brother, Tamerlan Tsarnaev, has been named as the second suspect who following a police shootout earlier this morning.

Dzhokhar was identified as the curly-haired man, wearing a white baseball cap, in pictures released by police.

A social media profile on Russian 'Facebook' site VKontakte lists him as Djohar Tsarnaev, living in Boston. He is listed as having attended school in Makhachkala, in the Republic of Dagestan, between 1999 and 2001, and now attending Cambridge Ringe & Latin School.

Dagestan is in the North Caucasus, on the border of Chechnya.

Several users of VK have posted messages on the page about the Boston bombings. One says: "Breivik is proud of you", and a picture of the Norwegian mass killer. Another writes: "YOU f****** schmuck! A murrain on you, you beast!"

Most of the posts written by Dzhokhar Tsarnaev himself are jokes. He has several references to Chechnya on the profile, and lists his "world view" as Islam and his "personal priority" as career and money.

How did anonymous even consider this possibility before these guys were tracked down!?!! It's like psychic or something.

Whoever the anon who suggested that it was even possible that Muslims are capable and inclined to do that sort of thing must have done some serious research.

You normally work out who did a terror attack against American civilians by working out the significance of any date within seven days of the attack. Oklahoma bombing, or tax day, or groundhog day or stuff like that, for example.

But in hindsight, I can see that actually every single day on the calendar is the anniversary of some jihad attack or Muslim grievance.

That's fucking irresponsible. Meanwhile CNN is cooperating with police by not showing live coverage of police movements to not give away the tactical situation in case the suspect (or anyone helping him) has access to TV or Internet.
  28. eddieVroom Member

I'm guessing the exposition seems simple because it is simple, and if it's news to you, it's because most people don't spend time thinking about this sort of thing.

Damn. (Although, I thought it was the younger brother who had the white cap.)

Boston Bombing Suspect Traveled to Russia Through NYC Last Year | NBC New York

Boston Marathon bombing suspect Tamerlan Tsarnaev flew in and out of John F. Kennedy Airport last year and was out of the country for six months, and investigators said they want to know if he received any terror training while he was overseas, NBC 4 New York has learned.

Travel records obtained by NBC 4 New York show Tsarnaev left New York on Jan. 12, 2012 for Sheremetyevo, Russia. He stayed overseas and returned to JFK on July 17.

The travel documents show a photo of a bearded Tsarnaev. The documents show the terror suspect was born on Oct. 21, 1986 and first entered the U.S. through JFK on July 19, 2003.

The documents show it was not until Friday that U.S. officials determined he was “a person or instrument that may pose a threat to the security of the United States.”

Tsarnaev was killed amid the shootout with police early Friday. The manhunt was continuing for his brother, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev.

CNN Releases Photos Of 3 Obese Mexican Women Suspected In Boston Bombing | The Onion

    700.jpg

BOSTON — In the midst of a widespread manhunt that has put the city of Boston on lockdown, CNN released a series of photographs today depicting the three obese Mexican women it claims are the chief suspects in the Boston Marathon attack.

“My top-level sources have confirmed that the individuals depicted in these photos planned, coordinated, and put into effect this week’s deadly bombing,” said CNN reporter John King, speaking of the trio of overweight Hispanic women, two of whom reportedly died in the late 1990s and one of whom has never actually visited the United States.

Official: Boston Bombings Suspect ‘Liked’ Terrorism Videos On YouTube « CBS Boston

Boston Marathon bombing suspect Tamerlan Tsarnaev had jihadi videos posted on his YouTube account, according to law enforcement officials.

That assertion appeared to be backed up by a page on YouTube belonging to Tamerlan Tsarnaev, which is the name of one of the suspects.

On the page, there was a playlist titled “terrorism.” The two videos under that list had been deleted by the author at some point.

The account also contained links to a number of videos about Islam, as well as videos of a Chechen singer.

CHECHEN LEADER: Bombing Suspects Have No Link To Chechnya
    (From: http://www.businessinsider.com/ramzan-kadyrov-statement-on-instagram-2013-4 )

"Today, as reported by the media, while trying to arrest a Tsarnaea was killed. It would be logical if he was detained and investigated, found all the circumstances and the degree of his guilt. Apparently, the special services needed by all means to calm the result of society."

What the hell? This joker has the audacity to question why police shot down that filth rather than let him get close enough to blow himself up and kill more innocents? I have no problem with his attempt to divert blame from his country, that's understandable.. but don't dictate how we deal with MAD DOGS, you moron! --
