This spam we get on the forum is really annoying no? lol
Can't the mods just ban their ip addresses? Or do they just come back with new ips?
There must be some way to stop it :(

    Please report spam.

If you also let other users know that it was reported by posting to the thread it saves them from duplicating your work.

Yes I got that, I have heard it here on the forum =P
But what about ip ban question?
  4. Darth Alor Member

Could ban Ip's but they could just change it or get more in a botnet

    thanks for the reply.
Yea I figured, but maybe it would take them awhile to realize, at least some hours no?
Unless if they have it automated to get a new one :s

Its more than one group and the IPs change. Posting in the "Please down vote this spam "thread makes the spam hide until a Mod can get to it.

Guise it's happening again! All over the site, somebody is posting garbage using randomly generated usernames. We gotta flush these pieces of crap out or put an IP ban on whoever is doing it, temporarily that is.

Please go comment in the threads that are active for you and I can work on them

It's at least a hundred. If there's a recent activity or unread posts section, you could catch the perps that way. I'm totally unsure if there is. :/ (would be very helpful)

Yeah, I noticed. They're exploiting a vulnerability with the forum software.

If anyone can, that is, anyone who hasn't done it, check the threads suspect of spamming and register the spammer's username. Also, is there any way of checking the server logs for IP addresses? It'll definitely catch the ones behind it. Could also report it to the ISP's, and provide screenshots/logs.

Update: I reported the offender (where most of the spam is originating from) to the hosting provider. They'll be greatly butthurt once the domain is yanked.
