What tanks? Just about all of Libya's tanks and armored personnel carriers were obtained from Russia, their M-113 APCs were obtained second hand from Italy awhile ago. The US supplied weapons to Libya in the 1950s before Ghaddafi was in power.
It's nearly over.
Gadhafi has been seen riding around in a pickup & SUV multiple times cavorting with his supporters. I can't believe in this day & age, with the technology that NATO and the U.S. military has, they can't send a drone in and take him out? Officials claim they never know where he is from one day to another, but ordinary media personnel have no problem finding (and filming) him.
The Obama administration backs the rebels, but are also playing them for fools.
GOGOGOGO LIBYA!!!!!! Drink in the moment! You deserve it!
say what u want about Al Jazeera but they're covering this pretty well IMO.
Al Jazeera English live stream
According to Al Jazeera:
-Rebels are in control of Tripoli except for Bab-Al-Aziziyah.
-The Presidential Guard has surrendered.
-2 South African planes are on the Tripoli Airport tarmac w/crew aboard - probable Gadhafi destinations: Angola or Zimbabwe.
-2 of Gadhafi's sons - including Saif al-islam, the de facto Libyan leader over the last few months - have been arrested.
Looks like it's just a matter of hours/days now!!!!
As a First Aid volunteer during the aftermath of the Lockerbie Disaster who had to see a male American passenger on the flight that exploded and crashed into Sherwood Crescent dead still upright in his aircraft seat against a chimney head for the three days we were recovering remains, i truly hope Ghadaffi is dead and he suffered greatly in his passing.
It ain't NATO's war...
The Obama Administration and, no doubt, NATO is assisting the rebels, douche.
Hopefully more dox are discovered about the whole mess. Secondly I hope the locals in Tripoli haven't reacted too soon, I keep thinking of Basra
Still not NATO's war.
Congrats Rebels on entering Tripoli. Now HOLD IT!!

Gaddafi's eldest son Mohammed confirms to Al-Jazeera Arabic TV that he has been detained and is under house arrest
I love the huge, long flag they are running through the crowds in Benghazi it looks awesome.
Big party i'm sure, if things pan out well.
So awesome to see people celebrating in Green Square, which they have renamed Martyr's Square.
Libyan Revolution FTW!!!
Ahem... NATO has been very involved, but it's the rebel's war & victory.
"The Foreign Office Minister Alistair Burt said RAF fighter jets had played a "significant" role in Nato attacks on Col Gaddafi's forces in the last 24 hours. The air assault, in which RAF Tornado GR4s struck with precision-guided Paveway bombs in and around Tripoli, came as pockets of rebels rose up overnight in neighbourhoods across the capital, sparking heavy street fighting for the first time in the city since the rebels took up arms."

Whoa... this crow tastes moar liek: You should google "ways and means", learn the difference and then revisit how this isn't NATO's war in any nonmoonbattery context.
35 minutes ago.. "The Libyan leader's son, Mohammed Gaddafi, spoke to Al Jazeera Arabic for a live interview a short while ago, in which he took a very apologetic tone and said it was a lack of wisdom that caused the revolution and crisis in Libya. As he spoke though, his house was attacked and shot at and the interview ended with the sound of gunfire."
No U, tinfoil boy.

What a year so far.
Some U.S. general who's a "Mideast expert" on CNN is reporting that after Gaddafi falls, there will be chao between the East coast rebels who are in control of the oil fields and the better armed West coast rebels because they are under different commands & don't like each other... say what?
It's chaos magick.
Nato air forces will stop operations asap.
It's cost a fortune is the reason.
As to different factions fighting each other who can say.
Pres. Obama statement:
Apparently, this is an historic moment.
Very much so!
