I was a little surprised to see how many people in SCN hold a Phd. I tried to find in which field they are working, see my results below. Most results I got were from the personal COS-websites. As lostatsea mentions a lot (27) of them are chiropractors.

I didn't even know what that was and had to look it up.

Chiropractic is not taught in Dutch and Belgian universities, is not a medical specialty and belongs in those countries to the non-conventional or alternative medicine. (Dutch wiki-link: http://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chiropraxie )

    Dr. Arlen J. Lieberman, chiropractor,
Dr. Brad Hagemo, optometrist, on the list
    Dr. Bradley Shapero, chiropractor
    Dr. Calvin George, chiropractor
    Dr. Cameron Lee Moorehead, veterinarian
Dr. Charles Watts, looks like his personal COS-website is no longer available
Dr. David Cook, on the list
    Dr. David Foster
    Dr. David Langford, nuclear Engineer
Dr. David Singer "owner of five corporations, author of two books and a consultant to nearly 1,000 businesses annually"(per his personal COS-website), http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Singer_(chiropractor)

    ok seriously now...
we need to get this press release out.
Nobody is moving, as far as I can see.
If it is not going to be revised, or the grammar is not going to be treaked can we haz press release?

Would like this to go out Monday!

Found another list that was originally published on ARS. It is a list of 607 declared persons, originally dating from 1983.

    http://www.lermanet.com/scientologyscandals/declared-SP-list.txt

When I quickly compared with the list of enemies not on "our" list there were only 51 persons on BOTH lists. Must research further.

OK, this is off topic, but it really surprised me. While researching Michael Feldman I found this:

    http://www.progressive.org/feldman0210.html

WTF? There are health insurers in the US that cover for faith-based expenses to "heal"? Am I understanding this correctly?

Maybe some US Anon can help me out.

    hey!!
Looking for anyone (who can) to help and please spread the news about the list.
Write to anyone, media, TV, radio or whoever you think would be interested in this story.
This list is jam packed full of damaging info against COS, it shoots holes in their claims of there only be a handful of people who have left. Are they going to say that all 1500+ of these people are all lieing??? (well of course they are but that besides the point lol)

Spread it far and wide. If you get any replies, post them here, but keep who the replies are a secret for now, we dont want you know who to get a heads up for a pending article.
If anyone has an ESMB account can you please post it over there?

Here is the link to the wiki where the list is kept:

I will look at the press release today--have been distracted by ...Other Stuff.
  16. Miranda Member

Okay--here is a quick edit. I corrected a few grammar/concision issues, and clarified here and there. I know this will be controversial, but I removed the word cult throughout. This is not because I don't think CoS is a cult--it is. But if this is a press release, it needs to present the facts without drawing that conclusion--the goal is for the facts to speak for themselves so readers themselves will conclude, Wow--that's a cult! And they will. If we call it a cult, we will look biased and many readers will be inclined to dismiss the press release as propaganda.

If the release is directed at readers who are already sympathetic (such as Tony Ortega), then that's a different matter. But if you're aiming at the uninformed, I strongly suggest restraining the language in that way. The facts speak very clearly for themselves.

I understand that people may disagree on this point,a nd I've used strikeout where possible so you can easily change it back if you want to. Got to go! PM me if you want me to take another look later on.
    -------------------------------------
The Big List of Ex Cult Church Of Scientology Members Who Have Spoken Out Reaches Over 1,500!

Over 1,500 + former members of the Cult Church of Scientology have spoken out publicly against this dangerous cult, the "church", according to a list researched and compiled by Anonymous human rights activists over the last two years. The list was started in June of 2009 and continues to grow daily.

The individuals on this list have spoken out under their real names against the abuses they have seen and experienced within the Scientology enterprise. They have done so so-called "church" despite being subjected to Scientology’s “Fair Game” policy, which gives members permission to destroy its critics with impunity. Many former members will never speak out, largely because of this policy and also because of the fear of being disconnected from family and friends disconnection. But now, two years later since the list's start, more ex former members are getting finding the courage to come forward and tell their stories.

The media is losing its shyness reporting increasingly willing to report on Scientology. The Australian media has been very influential in removing the Cult of Scientology's veil of secrecy over the past two years and is slowly chipping away at its crimes and abuses. Especially notable is with are reports of the recent arrest of Scientology CHHR's (The Citizen's Commission of Human Rights) global representative Jan Eastgate, who was arrested for perversion of justice involving her alleged cover-up of a four-year child molestation case which took place between involving church members in Australia. Australian's Senator Nick Xenophon has spearheaded a Charities Commission project which will look into tax exemption of religions and the social benefit they do or do not provide the community. The "church" is also under investigation by the FBI for human trafficking.

This list of former Scientologists ex list, which continues to grow daily, contains many names of individuals who no longer practice Scientology, as well as many others who do. What they have in common is that each of them has decided to step forward and tell the world what happened during their time within organized Scientology. While their backgrounds vary widely, their stories are similar and many common themes run throughout their accounts: rigid control of information, enforced disconnection from loved ones who are critical of the group, zealous campaigns to squeeze money from members, physical and emotional abuse of children and adults, slave labor camps designed to reinforce indoctrination, and many other disturbing practices. The problem is not limited to any particular country. These compelling stories, which span decades, continue to emerge from numerous countries all around the world spanning decades.

Anonymous celebrates the expansion of this list to include the voices of fifteen hundred plus strong voices ex-Scientologists who that are now no longer silenced or alone. You can find the list online here: http://wiki.whyweprotest.net/Former_Church_of_Scientology_members_who_have_spoken_out . Documentation is provided for each name included in the list.

All remaining victims or observers of abuse within organized Scientology are invited to speak out and add their names and their stories.
We hope that the courage shown by those named on this list empowers more ex members to come forward with their stories of disenchantment, abuse and financial drain, and ultimately prevents others from getting involved.

Since February 2008, Anonymous has protested the crimes and abuses of the Cult Church of Scientology and its many secretive front groups. These protests, as well as public awareness efforts like the Big Ex List, will continue until they are brought to justice.

this is great Miranda thanks so much!
What needs changing is this line:
"Anonymous celebrates the expansion of this list to include the voices of fifteen hundred plus strong voices ex-Scientologists who that are now no longer silenced or alone"

we can't say ex scientologists because many still consider themselves scientologists.
so we have to add "ex church of Scientology members"

    the same with this line:
This list of former Scientologists ex list,

    It has to say:
The list of former church of Scientology members

The rest are not on the list.

So the top two names can be added to the ex list yeah!!
need more infor on Peter Vogt
As far ar the rest of the names on this list, we have to find out more.

  22. TrevAnon Member

I have downloaded the completions database. There are a lot of names for which (I think) this database lists alternative spellings, so Google even returns a result when people make a typo.
  25. RightOn Member

    ok so.....
I read the post by Martin Ottman
    which said:
"The following is a list of civil actions brought by Scientologists, or
Ex-Scientologists in the mid 80s in the Superior Court of Los Angeles "

shit, is this "part" of the famous FAIR list?
Also we don't know if any of these people went back on lines
  26. RightOn Member

  27. TrevAnon Member

Errr... I thought the FAIR list was a list of 400 people...?

Question: if a scilon quits the cult, speaks out and then gets back on line, do we count him as speaking out? I think we should.

  29. TrevAnon Member

    Ok, see post http://forums.whyweprotest.net/thre...-member-list-to-over-1500.89459/#post-1786980

I went through this list of people. They are in the Completions (you can look them up yourself) and they are on the the COS enemies list while they are NOT on "our" list.

    I got the following results.

For by far the most people I couldn't find a link apart from the various sites that link to the completions, have the list of COS enemies or are the general "name-finding" sites. So I guess these people have just moved on with their lives. I did not list them below.

For none of them I found a quote that could be seen as "speaking out".

As regards the others: for some of them I found a reason why they are on that list or another interesting link.

For a lot of them, I found a personal COS website on their name. Could be that in that case the personal site is for someone else with the same name. However, it looks like some of them may have returned and are back in more or less good standing. Another possibility is that COS or the person him/herself never got rid of the personal website.

I did my best but in no way I aim to be 100 % complete. What we see here is the disadvantage of using name searches - you never know if John Doe in one document is the same person as John Doe in another. There's a reason we all have social security numbers, and there is also a reason the scilons have IAS-numbers...

ok what I did was add the names to the ex list in the other thread, with a link to facnet for the court cases instead of the german site thingy
if any of these people are back on lines and someone comes forward and says so, we an always pull them back off
    It has happened before.

Too bad Martin's list is the only post he made on that forum.

ok I added all the names I can to the list off that court case list

So Trev, if you want to add "on the list" to the names on the court cases you can

I went through the names in this ^^ post.

Some 40 are already on the list

Of those who are NOT on the list I tried to find those who are in completions - which might give it a chance of them speaking out.

    They are:

    Carolyn Burgess
    John Gilgar
    Lisa Wilske
    Penny Williams
    Ray Burgess
    Shirley Tanner
    Sonia Lopez

Over 1,500 + former members of the Church of Scientology have spoken out publicly against this dangerous cult, according to a list researched and compiled by Anonymous human rights activists over the last two years. The list was started in June of 2009 and continues to grow daily.

The individuals on this list have spoken out under their real names against the abuses they have seen and experienced within the Scientology enterprise. They have done so despite being subjected to Scientology’s “Fair Game” policy, which gives members permission to destroy its critics with impunity. Many former members will never speak out, largely because of this policy and also because of the fear of being disconnected from family and friends. But now, two years since the list's start, more former members are finding the courage to come forward and tell their stories.

The media is increasingly willing to report on Scientology. The Australian media has been very influential in removing Scientology's veil of secrecy over the past two years and is slowly chipping away at its crimes and abuses. Especially notable are reports of the recent arrest of Scientology CHHR's (The Citizen's Commission of Human Rights) global representative Jan Eastgate, for perversion of justice involving her alleged cover-up of a four-year child molestation case involving church members in Australia. Australian Senator Nick Xenophon has spearheaded a Charities Commission project which will look into tax exemption of religions and the social benefit they do or do not provide the community. The "church" is also under investigation by the FBI for human trafficking.

This list of former Church of Scientologists members, which continues to grow daily, contains many names of individuals who no longer practice Scientology, as well as many others who do. These compelling stories, which span decades, continue to emerge from numerous countries all around the world.

Anonymous celebrates the expansion of this list to include the voices of fifteen hundred plus former Scientology church members who are now no longer silenced or alone. You can find the list online here: http://wiki.whyweprotest.net/Former_Church_of_Scientology_members_who_have_spoken_out . Documentation is provided for each name included.

All remaining victims or observers of abuse within organized Scientology are invited to speak out and add their names and their stories.
We hope that the courage shown by those named on this list empowers more ex members to come forward with their stories of disenchantment, abuse and financial drain, and ultimately prevents others from getting involved.

Since February 2008, Anonymous has protested the crimes and abuses of the Church of Scientology and its many secretive front groups. These protests, as well as public awareness efforts like the Big Ex List, will continue until they are brought to justice.
