  1. CCHR = Scientology flyer; Urgent Help Needed for 3/29 Anti-CCHR Protest!

I put together some general text from wikipedia,, etc about the CCHR; it will be made into a flyer later but I need help checking facts, what information to include/exclude, etc.

We will be protesting outside of a theater that is holding a CCHR event about the dangers of psychotropic drugs, mainly concerning children. We will be outside before and after the event to make sure they know CCHR = Scientology. (scroll down a bit to "Fight For Kids Event") (our protest) (local newspaper article)

We have our general Scientology information, Jeremy Perkins story and such but as far as I know there isn't a good flyer explaining the CCHR; I'm hoping to remedy that. Here is some planned text; please let me know whatever information would be useful to include (or remove). Formatting will be handled later.

It's an anti-psychiatry organization owned and operated by the CHURCH OF SCIENTOLOGY.

What is the CCHR all about?
CCHR's views on psychiatry are a straightforward reflection of the opinions put forward by L. Ron Hubbard, the founder of Scientology.

In 1950 L. Ron Hubbard authored the book Dianetics: the Modern Science of Mental Health, which claims that mental and psychosomatic physical problems are caused by traumatic recordings called “engrams” that are stored in the “reactive mind.”
His ideas were rejected by the mental health community.
Regardless, in 1953 Hubbard founded the Church of Scientology to spread and implement Dianetics as an alternative to psychology and psychiatry. Since then, Scientology and its front group the Citizens Commission on Human Rights have waged an all-out war on psychiatry.

What does the L. Ron Hubbard say about psychiatry and psychiatrists?

"Psychiatrists...murdered several million people - so it's no light matter...33 1/3 percent of all psycho-analytic patients are said to have committed suicide in their first three months of treatment."
    - L. Ron Hubbard, Hubbard Communications Office Bulletin, 11 December 1964, "Processes"

"We want at least one bad mark on every psychiatrist in England, a murder, an assault, or a rape or more than one... This is Project Psychiatry. We will remove them."
    - L. Ron Hubbard, Sec ED, Office of LRH, Confidential, 22 February 1966, "Project Psychiatry"

Following Hubbard's death in 1986, the Church of Scientology and the CCHR have continued his campaign to destroy psychiatry:

"Psychs are the major source of planetary suppression; they and this program must be stopped."
    - CCHR mailer 15 Sept. 1993, signed Steve Manuels

"It is obvious that psychiatry as an industry has fully infested English-speaking countries and a good portion of the rest of the world...We need to exploit the lawsuits and all psychiatric criminality to maximum advantage...making psychiatry the most unpopular and ridiculed group of the day."
    - CCHR newsletter copyright 2000

"Get rid of the psychs! That is just what CCHR is doing."
    - CCHR mailer "Stop Psych Experiments on schoolchildren!" copyright 1997

    What about other anti-psychiatry organizations?

The CCHR does not interact with other anti-psychiatry groups. Kendra Wiseman, while working for the CCHR, recalls:
“Members of CCHR put down and ridiculed non-Scientology anti-psych groups as "crazy" [...] One day, I ran across another group of people who considered themselves psych-survivors. Their message was almost identical to ours, and they'd really experienced psych-abuse first hand. I was so excited, I ran and told my senior about it. To my surprise, she already knew about them, but discounted them as "people we didn't want to have anything to do with."
    - Kendra Wiseman, (the daughter of Bruce Wiseman, the president of the U.S. CCHR)

Other groups opposed to psychiatry typically want nothing to do with Scientology or the CCHR as well. The Antipsychiatry Coalition states:
"No Scientologists, please: Volunteers will be asked for assurance they are not affiliated with the "Church" of Scientology or its Citizen's Commission on Human Rights (CCHR), which have publicized the harm done by psychiatry but which we want no affiliation with."
