On the AP youtubed report put up yesterday, the reporter says, that Jett died from a seizure at the family's vacation home. Starts at about :14.

Now, all you Southern anons look at the TMZ video very carefully and tell me if ya'll agree with this:

He keeps saying, "It was a seizure and that was it." <----"that was it" means the person died. (I've heard it too many times= "His heart gave out and that was it." "She got cancer and that was it." )

This guy says, "happened this mornin' 'bout 9:30---he fell and hit his head and that was it.

Then the guy talks about Jett in the past tense. He says, "He had a history of seizures so that was it."

Then the guy tries to backtrack a bit and says they're all doing everything they possibly can... Which I guess it's not really a lie.

Then he says something very interesting. He says, "they called us and then we called EMS and that's when the whole process started."
Process? Not, "They called us and we called EMS and they stabilized him to bring him here." or "They called us and we called EMS and then they brought him here."
He says, "that's when the whole process started." That's not the way most people would have worded it.

Then he says this, "Everybody's with him. The whole family." <--- is also something I've heard my whole life when someone passes away. Yes, it's something that can be said in other circumstances, but I know that in Southern states it's considered a comforting thought that the body---especially the body of a child---is not just left alone by the family and friends.

I don't know if the real truth will ever come out, but I'd bet money that child was dead at that house when they found him at 9:30AM that morning.

FREEPORT, Bahamas, Jan 28, 2009 (UPI via COMTEX) -- The document at the center of the alleged Travolta family extortion plot is a "refusal to transport" record pertaining to Jett Travolta, People.com said.
The 16-year-old son of film stars John Travolta and Kelly Preston died, reportedly of a seizure, while the family was on vacation in the Bahamas.
A paramedic who answered the call at Travolta's vacation home was arrested and charged with allegedly attempting to extort $25 million from the family. He has pleaded not guilty to the charges. His attorney is also charged with two counts of extortion, but hasn't entered a plea in the case yet.
Bahamian police told People.com the paramedic allegedly tried to sell the actors a one-page "refusal to transport" document Travolta supposedly signed while his son was being treated.
"The document did not apply in the Travolta case," Senior Assistant Commissioner of Police Marvin Dames told People.com. "It did not apply because (Jett) was very ill, and so, the only alternative would be to take him to the hospital. Refusal to transport documents are for cases involving minor injuries. If your injuries are minor and you don't want to be transported, the ambulance driver would produce that form. It waives responsibility on the part of the hospital."
Dames went on to say Travolta and Preston did everything possible to get their son the help he needed.
"We were satisfied from all our investigations that the Travolta family and those who rendered aid to Jett did all that was humanly possible to revive Jett," Dames said. "There's no evidence to support that there was any effort to avoid medical treatment."

i'm still holding my breath the wind might blow another way when bridgewater gets her say in arraignment...

They're both back in court on February 11.

February 11 is a lifetime away...

its not like Jett needed brain surgery.. he needed help with an ongoing seizure in which they were performing cpr for.. why on earth would he need to fly to florida for that?

coz he needed a scientologist dr. or was afraid of the publicity?

and what i want to know is did the ambulance actually drive to or toward the airport.. extending his trip to the hospital?

Don't have it handy, but I thought I read that the plane couldn't accomodate Jett so they went to the hospital? Pretty sure it was quoted somewhere...

I thought they actually went to the airport...

I watched the spokesperson at hospital again from morning of jan. 2nd

main emphasis on seizure not head trauma..

but in the next day or so... the story turns into being about the head trauma..

harvey levin who said he got his info from travolta lawyers states it appears the hitting of the head cause his death...

but also.. if Travolta is gonna claim that he needed to fly Jett to florida.. for some expert medical care.. that would be silly for someone suffering an ongoing seizure but is plausible for someone suffering head trauma..

When the poor boy was discovered, whatever his condition of being alive or not, the JT family might have wanted to call Scientology first to ask for how to deal with it, even before EMT, as JT has probably never heard of the Lisa McPherson story.

That might account for the huge delay in getting EMT transport.

Speculation, possible chain of events:

Maybe they found him having a seizure but still breathing and with a pulse. He is worse off than he usually is - he's fallen and hurt himself.
Medics are called and arrive, they check him out and decide he has to go to the hospital.
John Travolta and Kelly Preston decide that they wants his son to go to Florida by plane instead of being stuck in the hospital in the Bahamas.
John Travolta signs a refusal of transport, and they want to wait for other transport to the airport.
Unknown to them, Jett's fall has started an internal bleeding in the brain.
Jett gets gradually worse.
The ambulance crew offer to take Jett to the hospital, but they're asked to go to the airport.
At the airport, they find that the plane can't accomodate Jett. If it's not travolta that's flying, it could be that the air crew refused to take Jett because he was too sick to fly.
Jett gets worse to the point of his heart stopping. Then they start CPR, and John Travolta also took turns doing CPR in the back of the ambulance. (CPR is very tiring, with only one EMT in the back, switching on compression and bagging is good.)
CPR, defibrilation etc. continues at the hospital.
After a while, they realize that Jett is brain dead and that CPR is now useless.
The emt keeps the document, which now seems irrelevant since Jett's dead. The EMT sees a chance for some blackmail.

Again, the above is speculation, but it is a plausible chain of events.
The main point you can take from it is that patients can get worse while you're on the scene, especially with things like internal bleedings.

First reports are sometimes inaccurate. He says the hospital confirmed that Jett died, but he doesn't say that the location of death was confirmed.

Edit: And even if he went into arrest at the scene, it doesn't necessarily mean he arrested before EMS arrived.

I wonder if he was found without a pulse, or if it stopped after EMS had arrived, or if it stopped in the ambulance.

Yeah, quite likely, apart from the blackmail angle.

I just don't buy that bit. A story sold to newspaper reporters may be worth something. But Travolta probably already took his own carbon paper copy of any form. It's not about the form.

I think this is about medically qualified testimony. That's where the potential damage to Scientology and Travolta is, and that's why the ambulance guy is being descredited and silenced before he ever gets a chance to tell or sell his story.

"They received information at the hospital that Travolta was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital. "

It says "they received information AT THE HOSPITAL" that he was DOA.
So are they saying the hospital received information that he was DOA???

its a first report.. but i have not read any report that contradicts it..

there are no reports that he died in the ambulance or at the hospital.. he was officially pronounced dead at the hospital...

assuming a 50 minute ambulance ride.. which was quoted in an article...when ems arrived at scene.. Jett was already dead or within a half an hour to an hour of being known to have died..

No, no, no. The police officers at the hospital were told by the hospital that Jett was pronounced dead upon arrival to the hospital. That means he died during the ambulance ride, or before it. Actual time of death is unknown because we don't have the autopsy report, but I would say the actual time of death was when his heart stopped beating for the last time.

To say anything more accurate I would need more detailed witness accounts or documents.

The 707 was in GA that day and for about a month prior.

The Gulfstream arrived about 8;30 AM and took off again about 10:40 AM.

I didn't look for his Eclipse, I think he was still awaiting delivery

i went back and look at the info you posted a few weeks ago.

The calling in of the jet to get there leads to more suppositions..but will have to wait to more information is released.

Hi all.

The mysterious but generically named Mark Smith family doc has been bugging me. This is 1000% unsubstantiated but here goes anyway as others here might be better 'net researchers than I am. I read it on a message board about Jett's death. The doctor was reportedly a Travolta family friend and supposedly a pulmonologist from Tampa, was a doc for one of the FL pro sports teams at one point, raised Catholic and supposedly not a $ci - and again with another supposedly, a stand-up guy acc to the person who knew him. Attended the autopsy for comfort level of Travoltas (somewhat struck me as asking my dermatologist's opinion on ob/gyn, ENT or other medical specialist advice - or seeking something crazy like chiropractor or vitamin shop owner advice for my kid's seizures but hey I did ask a resident friend once to check on a specialist's advice and what I could expect in certain procedures). Was supposedly there with them already as part of the group of 60 friends.

Just throwing it out there. Hate internet rumors but again, killing me that virtually nothing is known about the family doc and all the BS regarding this kid's death.

Depending on how you define it, Jett was between life and death before he came to the hospital. They were still truing to resucitate him then. When you don't know if it's hopeless or not, you continue trying to save his life. To the protocol of the EMTs there was still hope.

Jett throws tantrum because he is out of regular environment. (Autistic kids often get anxious in places other than home.)

Dad has Jett flown to Home for TV/Cheetos/VideoGames in familiar home environment.

Jett experiences death in Fl home.

(Holy bat fuck what do we do now robin?)

Jett is flown back to Bahamas for theatrics (they are actors afterall).

Did y'all think about the possibility that the EMT's were called out TWICE in 24 hours? Once when Jett had a seizure, which was not life threatening and Travolta would have wanted to take Jett back to Florida to his own "health care provider" (whomever that might have been). Then later, Jett suffered a second seizure where be bumped his head (severely) and died.

It would be the first call where Travolta would have requested "no transport". All would have been well had he transported Jett before the second incident. After second the incident proved life threatening (duh... Jett died) the transporters would have wanted to get the information of the prior "no transport request" into some other hands.

Like one of the earlier posters in this thread said... we're missing some information. Could this be the missing information... two calls to EMT's?

This flight thing has bothered me since the beginning. Are there any reports that JT (or his crew) wanted to fly Jett in his Gulfstream to FL???

Also, the EMT time line, I'll assume it takes roughly 30 min. to get to the hotel. That gives us an hour travel time and 15-20 min. there on-scene. Where is the airport??

The police are now trying to ascertain whether the document is authentic.

Former Minister of Tourism Obie Wilchombe, who is a long-term friend of the Travoltas, has also been questioned in relation to the case, but has not been charged.

Death certificate says he died at the resort. I have always heard he died there as far as I know that info never changed. Soo, my theory is

he was found dead, some guy at resort calls EMS (oh shit, now what?), travolta's want to take him to florida "for treatment", EMS guy says wtf? Obie is there, he says wtf?

Obie, the Bahama tourism/friend of family guy is watching all this lying/spinning going on. He gets an idea. The EMS guy and I "know" what happened. Wonder what it's worth. So he starts "talking" on Larry King but giving the "shore story". He gives EMS guys name for interviews for him to "talk" about the "shore story." They were letting Travolta's know they could get face time to "talk."

Also if Ravolting's plane came in at 8:30 and left at 10:30, I find that VERY relevant. Who flew in an hour before the EMS was called and left an hour and a half before Jett was declared dead?

IMHO, the best we can do is documenting the contradictions in the family's statements. We could add the police's and justice's ones for good measure. I am ready to contribute but won't do it alone.

Travolta's lawyer, the former Attorney General during the Daniel Smith fiasco, is allegedly claiming she is getting death threats from her party -the PLP

Their local newspaper claimed yesterday that the PLP wanted to kick the lawyer out of the party.

$37m Travolta extortion bid: woman called Pleasant accused of turning nasty

Celebrity news website TMZ.com has reported that Travolta, an avid pilot, considered flying his chronically ill son to Florida before he was driven to the hospital on Grand Bahama island.

It is unclear why the pair allegedly believed the Travoltas would pay to keep the document from being released.

The question is being asked, just not at the right VOLUME for $25 million bucks of believing!
