Well we have decentralized and a lot of folks just come to read what is going on and not post. We still see several Chifags at the protests.
  11. Re: Chicago, IL

    Re: Chicago, IL

    Heh, indeed.

On chicagosaysno there are Anons interested in a miniraid for the 5th of December. The debate is whether to do it at the org itself (which I am all in favor for) or do a whole day where we give info at Millenium, then go to the org for a Candlelight Vigil (fyi, the candles will be fake led candles from walmart or target, just because I remember some of the police around Lincoln Park are unfriendly with Anons)
  17. Re: Chicago, IL

you planned that wothout me? how rude
  18. Daywatch Member

    Re: Chicago, IL

let me know immediately about any unfriendly cops

    names and badge numbers plox

    Re: Chicago, IL

Will do. The only thing the police there dislike is Anons standing around while protesting. Since its a candlelight vigil, they shouldn't complain but I'm not sure how they'd react to it. Being its the holidays, so I hope they won't baawww about it.
  20. Re: Chicago, IL

“The play definitely isn’t pro-Scientology,” allows May, who adds that he and the other producers will keep an eye out for “creepy anonymous protesters who will show up and try to scare the kids.”

    Re: Chicago, IL

This article is in regards to Arizona. I don't think these are the same guys because the ones in Chicago let us in to see the play for free and expressed positive regard for us.
  22. Re: Chicago, IL

Peachy keen then. :3 I was loling at your close ties to the people putting on the play.
  23. Re: Chicago, IL

Okay, both the park people and the Chicago police department have been notified in advance and appreciated our courtesy call.

Here's an issue that we should be aware of. The park representative said that there will be a "bar crawl" group that is scheduled to come through the area at around 2 p.m. They usually don't get rolling until later in the evening, so they may not even be around there until later on and we're gone, but in the case that they come by us, he felt there could be a conflict of interests. The gist I got was that he was concerned that they may be drunk and rowdy and seeing us in costumes and that sort of thing, there could be some ensuing drama. He didn't say not to be there past 2 p.m., he just wanted to let us know of the situation.

So, what do you guys think about the bar-crawl group? Could they be simply out to have a good time and make for a surprisingly-receptive audience, or would they be drunks who would make a really ugly or stupid scene? Do you want to stay and interact with them for potential laughs, or are you more concerned that...

    YES!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Re: Chicago, IL

As long as they share some of the sauce and don't mind Irish drinking songs, I'm cool with them! LOL
When they arrive, I demand we play Rick-Astley on stereo and see what happens!

Srsly, I doubt there will be problems. If need be, we can simply change locations then meet back up when they have gone.

    Re: Chicago, IL

Dude you don't even show up anymore. You just have friends drive by in cabs and tell us they know you and then call you and then we talk to you and then he gets back in a cab and drives away. Srsly man. Wtf?

Can I get a definite answer as to what and when the protest will be in December? I'd love to come to one. I've been watching Anonymous' interaction with the Church for a while now and have been impressed with the whole thing.

    Re: Chicago, IL

    Darnit, sorry for the confusion.

December 13th, 11:00 am, Millenium Park. I PM'd you the details.
  31. Re: Chicago, IL

All I want for Christmas are some Scientology handlers at our protest this time around!

Looking forward to tomorrow. See all you guys there!

wakey wakey anonymous, it's time to protest!

    Scientology come out to plaaaaaaaaaayy.

    Re: Chicago, IL

Protest was successful, two anons went skating at the adjacent ice rink, two groups of non-anons joined up for a while, waived signs and generally supported. Fukken win on that front, we've had a good deal of incidence of spontaneous public join ups the last few protests. Let's hope they come back for more in january!

    Still Alive - Marcab

If folks would be so kind as to throw together some quick, one paragraph summaries of what's been going on in their local cells here, the hope is to get a nice website up compiling everything (kinda like Anonymous Resources, only with some more information about the groups). We could even *gasp* KEEP IT UP TO DATE!

    Re: Chicago, IL

So apparently we won't be having anymore month-specific protest threads.

So anyways, January 11th or 17th. Whichever works. As for a press release, to be honest I am completely out of ideas on this one. I have been sending press releases to four major news sources for a while and haven't received a reply, nor does it seem that they are interested after our initial news attention around February. Oh well, but its up to you guys, what could go into the next release if we can write it?
  36. AnonLZ Member

    Re: Chicago, IL

well first off do we want to make another thread for chicgo's january protest or just continue with this one and make it of epic length?

As for the press release what four sources do you send it to? We should send it to the the 4 local news stations, cbs, abc, nbc, and wgn and the newspapers. Now this is me just assumeing but I'd believe there's like deptartments for different sections to the paper we ought to look into sending it to the heads of those deparments like the metro section or what ever. Is there any magazines we might think about sending a press release too, I can't think of any local to the chicago area but maybe you guys might.

I'll try to throw something together for a press relase tomorrow, I don't make any promises, especially on quality, I've been meaning to help out on it in the past but my lazy ass likes to be lazy.

tl;dr send press relase to more places and i'll work on one

    Re: Chicago, IL

I have sent it to the Chicago Tribune, Fox, NBC, and ABC of Chicago.

They were well written with visual presentation in mind. I'd be happy to help write it or edit it. What were you thinking of putting in the next press release?

we are confrimed, monthly on the 10th, we are meeting at belmont stop, then heading over, i will post more as decided
  40. Re: Chicago, IL

Well, we're being a bunch of slowpokes again in ironing out the details. Most of the talk is going on at our local forums. At this point, it looks like we're doing 2 events...

On the 10th, we have people planning to be at the Chicago org. You can view the 10th talk here.

On the 17th, bird's the word at our usual protest location of Millennium Park in Chicago. There's also a thread for the 17th.

If you're reading those and have a question or comment but don't have an account there and don't want to bother making one, you can post here and I'll relay it over as soon as I see it.
