Interestingly, I clicked on the actual youtube channel to see the vid and comments.

Chuck Beatty makes some great posts. In one of his posts he provided a link to a 1980 article written by Bainbridge. Here it is:

    http://anonymous.gigfa.com/Bainbridg...ly%20Clear.pdf

In reading that article, Bainbridge does get it. At least from the view that there are no clears or OT's. Bainbridge calls what exmembers have realized is the carrot on a stick, Bainbridge calls it "compensators", LOL

Bainbridge has also figured out that dianetics and later scientology are all about status's in the scientology world of training, auditing and even a post in a scientology organization.

Also, he touches on isolation of the preclear but doesn't know this is actually called "entheta" in scientology terms which is PTS/SP bullshit.

Bainbridge also analyzes why hubbard/scientology cannot offer proof of clear and OT and explains it well I believe. And, is part of the trap of this crazy organization. yes.gif

The article is a good read.

Chris is doing superb work with this series. We'll be able to point governments to this if they're giving apologetics too much credit.

Latest from James R. Lewis this year:

Technological Exorcism, Body Thetans, and Scientology’s Secret Mythology

    Author: James R. Lewis
    Publication: Numen, Volume 63, Issue 1, pages 33–53, 2016
    DOI: 10.1163/15685276-12341407
    ISSN: 0029-5973 E-ISSN: 1568-5276

Keywords: New Religious Movements; space opera; auditing; Scientology; Operating Thetan; mythology; Xenu

Abstract: When applying the category of “mythology” to a contemporary new religious group like the Church of Scientology (CoS), one has to choose from among several different categories of narratives which could be regarded as mythological. If we set aside the body of tales surrounding L. Ron Hubbard, CoS’s founder (which could arguably be classified as mythology), one of Scientology’s key stories is the so-called Xenu narrative (also referred to as the OT-III teachings). Although this story is only revealed after one has tread the “Bridge” for some time, it is arguably a foundational myth, which sets the Scientology enterprise into a cosmological framework. While the present article will focus on the Xenu story, it also discusses Hubbard’s self-mythologizing, including his “discovery” of Incident Two (the Xenu narrative) as a hero myth.

  12. Chris does such a marvellous job as a presenter. Enjoyed this episode on Chapter 7, even though I must've skipped the bit where Andersen and Wellendorf show that it's really all a load of half-baked nonsense. Maybe that is still to come in an expanded paper?:p

The Basics of Scientology - Investigations and the Data Series | Chris Shelton

"This video is the next in the Basics of Scientology series, breaking down the basic concepts and methods of Scientology using critical thinking to look at the pros and cons of each. In this video, I look at L. Ron Hubbard's ideas of logic and reason and how he said to go about doing investigations both in and outside of Scientology to discover the root causes of situations and handle them. I show how his system is wholly illogical and is really just an exercise in confirmation bias."

How Scientology Treats Mental Disorders | Chris Shelton

"In this video, I talk with highly trained former Scientologist and Sea Org member Sunny Pereira about how Scientology deals with medicine and mental health disorders. We get into the details of how the more common mental disorders would be translated into "Scientologese," what L. Ron Hubbard says causes these conditions and how Scientology would deal with them. Both of us were in Scientology for years and oversaw some of these kinds of handlings. In the next videos in this series, we will explore the Introspection Rundown as well."

In this video, I go over reports written about me by other Sea Org members after I left the Sea Org to make my life difficult and the process of getting myself out of the Scientology mindset and where things stand now."
