Bottom line about the road is that no matter what happens to it, at some point there will be an entrance to Scientology property from public property, and that is where the protests will be.
inb4 scilon baaww "zooomfg! Terrist raptors invadin ma bony fido wewigion omg omg call the rivercide anti-bigot sheriffs !!!11111!!!!eleventy!!!"
Distance to what? Current Gold protests can't be seen or heard by anyone except at the guard shack, or the occasional car entering. Nothing will change if the road's moved. There'll still be a guard shack, and civilian cars driving by the entry, and we'll still have caek.
Typically I suspect their paranoid plan would be to have two entrances/escape routes at the end of very long driveways at opposite ends of the compund, with a very roundabout way through San Jacinto for anyone else to get from one to the other, thus requiring two sets of protesters to cover it. But who would they be protesting to if the entrances are say: a) down a lane off the main road and b) at the end of a long driveways away from visible/audible contact with scilons?
Well, half the protest is aimed at informing the public, is it not? I don't see that situation being any different from when they haul in all protuberances and hide behind closed drapes.
Unless you already happen to live in nearby San Jacinto or Hemet then it's a long trek out there for most SoCal protesters. Even though you can get right up to the belly of the beast, protests there are still rare enough as it is especially in 90-100 degree heat. I couldn't think of anything more dull than protesting at a gate, down a disused road, far away from the sight of either the scilons or the public. You would no longer able to get shots like this one Smurf did of some poor fuck on the RPF running track..... @4m:19s .....
I doubt that's the purpose of Anon, only being in it for the lulz. You'd lose half the fun because that's the cards you'd been dealt, and continue the fight against COS.
Just in... SAN JACINTO: Multi-car crash along Gilman Springs Road By Richard Brooks. Press Enterprisen March 15, 2011 http://blogs.pe.com/news/digest/2011/03/san-jacinto-multi-car-crash-al.html
yikes! I hope all involved are ok? So will this tragedy be a win for COS to get the road closed? Or will COS be faulted for screwing up the road?
For that, you will have to wait for the official accident report I suppose. Whatever the cause, that news makes it even more distburbing that on saturday during the Ida Camburn memorial protest at Goldbase, the cult was willing to play fast and loose with people's lives by using inappropriate sprinklers and illegally high decibel noise to force pedestrians into the traffic.
No. If anything this will prove once and for all that this road needs to be widened, and that there needs to be a traffic light outside of the main guard shack. Local business wants the road widened. Local citizens want it widened too. They also want the traffic light in front of the entrance to the cult compound. Widening this road would increase revenues for local business and it would make the entire road safer for everyone who travels this route. There are some youtube videos online showing people from the area petitioning the local goverment in some town meeting. These people identify themselves by name. It would be wise to contact these people under the guise of community development to gain there support for the road widening project. This project already has a ton of support, all we have to do it help push things along. And the pay off will be massive damage to the cult's psyche. This is truly major win.
Not that. Too many guises imo. Anyone doing this should make it clear that they are BOTH concerned for the development of the community, and also anonymous hackers on stereos. Because pretending otherwise would just be lame.
OPERATION: Widen The Road Gentlemen. Pleae refer to this epic strategy for massive cult devastation. The citizens of this area want to see this road widened, not closed. We must do all we can to support their efforts. This is our most important battle. Here is why. There are many reasons why this campaign is a critical battle. 1. Massive cult devastation. More than anything else in protest history. Stabbing right at the heart of the cult. Once that road is widened it will cut the cult compound in half with 4 lanes of noisy, pollution spewing traffic going right through the beating heart of cult-ville. 2. Major psychological blow to the cult. One from which they will never recover. 3. There is already strong public support for the road widening project. The importance of this issue is greatly emphasized by the dangerous travel conditions along the Gillman Springs road. 4. The road is a major economic thoroughfare for businesses located on both sides of the cult compound. Road closure would devastate these small businesses. The owners of which are local public figures, all of whom are sympathetic to this cause. You can see some of them in this YouTube video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ljrdG0YZUZY And the best part.... 5. Getting involved is as easy as writing an email or a letter. Almost anyone around the world can help with this project. I'm talking about destruction my friends. On a massive scale. Pure psychological atomic warfare. And on the day that we win this battle, and we hear the county has officially approved the project, you might hear the distant sound of music, a rock song. Maybe its "The End" by the Doors. You might imagine fire. Napalm fire. Jungles on fire. The heat of the fire on your face. The smell of gasoline. The sound of distant choppers. Massive destruction. The smell of victory.
I want them to ride their bikes fast up there, miss a curve because the cult is watering protesters, slide out and hit a suppressive pine tree. Can haz for Xmas?

Gilman Springs Road endangered by next hard rain. Does the cult plan on maintaining their changes? Should the county maintain their changes? Don't we need the road widened while the road is being repaired?

Have you ever noticed how much money Casinos (are willing to) take from their patrons?!?!?!?!?! Oh wait, the patrons willingly gave it...
