I seem to remember a Gabriella interviewing some anons years ago (08-09) for some sort of article or paper. Anyone know if this is the same person?
^^ Yes. She is a member here. https://whyweprotest.net/community/threads/anonymous-vs-co-is-an-academic-topic.26931/#post-585966
I finished the book. It's an anthropological look at what hackers are like, therefore maybe not quite what you're expecting. I still found it interesting and useful. A good companion book would be Future Perfect by Steven Johnson, which also tries to show what open source and crowd sourcing has brought and may bring.
She will be live on CBC in 5 minutes http://www.cbc.ca/thecurrent/# https://twitter.com/TheCurrentCBC/status/291887729019596800 http://www.csmonitor.com/World/Europe/2013/0115/Should-good-hackers-be-protected-by-law

The "Certified Ethical Hacker" they had on really had difficulty differentiating himself from just a paid computer security guy.
who says there's a diff between an ethical hacker and a paid security guy anyway? or is it about being an unpaid ethical hacker? i wish someone would pay me to hack their systems, i hear those are sweet gigs and loads of folks earn a f-ing packet doing easy shit like running nessus....
