  1. Colorado State Board of Education- Applied Scholastics!

    January 24th, 2009

The Colorado State Board of Education has certified Applied Scholastics as a Supplemental Education Service (SES) provider.

Here is this link to the 20-page proposal send to the CO BOE in 2006: (Apply Proxy Condom here) http://www. studytech.org/ASI-colorado-2006. pdf

An interesting and pretty disturbing fact is that the Scientologist "teachers" will be getting paid $25/hr per student! I wonder if these people teaching the students Study Tech have to be ACTUAL accredited teachers?

I'm going to be writing a letter to the Colorado BOE with links to xenutv.net, Ex-Scientology Kids, etc.

I suggest everyone that's concerned for the state of education in Colorado do the same. I don't want MY kids going to a school that employs $cientology and teaches their "tech". Fuck.

    Englewood, CO 80110

This is bad news guys. I haven't found out which schools specifically are involved but the Board of Education HAS approved their SES status.

Perhaps a raid outside of Applied Scholastics, Colorado, is in order?:)

    *facepalm*

Why is it that these people just see the word "scholastics" and assume there can't be anything wrong with it? If even one person on the board had bothered to do two minutes of googling, this shit wouldn't have happened.

edit I take that back. Googling for "Applied Scholastics" turns up mostly sci sites except for one xenu.net page and a couple other critic sites on the first two pages of results. Some googlebombing is in order....

Re: Colorado State Board of Education- Applied Scholastics!

That's how they get their hands on the money from NCLB. Kids with learning disabilities qualify for money for tutoring, and if you're on the State's list you get ___ $'s per head per hour for every kid you can get on your rolls. Oversight varies from state to state, but how do you judge "progress" in kids with learning disabilities? I'd say "with a Woodcock Johnson" but I'mma Evil Psyh, so presumably "win" statements from parents will be the basis for what are sure to be forthcoming false claims of success.

    Please stay on this.

Please keep these monsters away from kids with disabilities.

Re: Colorado State Board of Education- Applied Scholastics!

Here are the criteria for the tutors

    from report
I tutor at a local community college. A pass with an A or B is all that's needed to tutor that class. But a BA or better is needed to do so otherwise.

Also note the 'persona'. Unless I'm sadly mistaken, which is possible, that is a totaly bizarre use of the term in that context.

And of course all the tutors must learn Study Tech.

I do want the Tutor code to see what other mischief they are up to

    Not good.

I recognized a couple names in the report who work for AS HQ, and pretty sure they are based in St. Louis, so maybe raids there, too.

sorry, i have a grudge against colorado, but we must poon now faggots!
  12. Re: Colorado State Board of Education- Applied Scholastics!

So, I wonder if they're also aiming to have legitimate tutors be trained in Study Tech (which they'd have to pay for, of course)....

Re: Colorado State Board of Education- Applied Scholastics!

Ii remember tracing how the power and money flowed to Washington D.C. to make this situation a reality today in another thread awhile ago (from Texas with Bush to Dept of Education and NCLB / High Stakes Testing and Faith Based Initiatives), but I don't recall yet partaking in actually connecting the dots between $cilon course materials on "The Bridge" and Applied Scholastics.

Has anybody ever with dox as yet done a good job of this? If so, are job requirements which include cult indoctrination legal? We KNOW they're compensable in terms of getting forced to learn after you're employed (dentist in Chicago), how about as a pre-condition to employment?

Yes, Bitch. Dr Dave Touretsky has a page comparing the wording of the Basic Study Manual with Scientology "Scripture". See link in post #2 above.

Their Board of Education was apparently bought off or infiltrated.

We need to get the message out to the parents.

I'm going to the Colorado State Board of Education website: CDE Staff Listings Index Page

I'm getting the names, email addresses (shown if you click their name), office addresses (all in the same building but being specific for each person would have a better effect) and sending some of my own "black p.r.".

Accounting/Purchasing staff would be interested in some Co$-Applied $cholastics info since they're the ones responsible for the money allocated to this cult. Their faces are going to be so RED!

The budget director, John Harrison (harrison_j@cde.state.co.us) should be equally informed of what his state is spending their money on.

Director of Compliance and Special Projects, William Windler (windler_w@cde.state.co.us), might be interested in the connection that Applied Scholastics has to $cientology.

I could go on forever, but needless to say, I'm going to be VERY busy buying envelopes/stamps, writing letters that include xenutv.net and Ex-Scientology Kids links.

Would it be a good idea to send an email from my Anonymous email account (no actual links to myself personally) to all of their email accounts since they are all accessible?

Getting 100's of letters and emails would be A LOT more attention grabbing!

Re: Colorado State Board of Education- Applied Scholastics!

OK, well the work is done to connect the Applied Scholastics course materials to $cientology, and today we live in the light of a recent consent decree that basically said requiring $cilontololligy training as a condition of employment was (not verbatim but spirit of what the lawyer for the Fed said) is a gross violation of power relationships in employment and an unconscionable abuse.

So. Who wants to go apply for the job who is obviously overqualified? Are they advertising for staff?
  18. Re: Colorado State Board of Education- Applied Scholastics!

A ton of our local front groups & orgs have "now hiring!" signs in the window. Sadly, I just got a new job, so I'm unavailable.

Another key document is available through Wikileaks. It is called "Command Channels of Scientology".

Command Channels of Scientology - Wikileaks

At page 9, "Different types of organizations in Scientology are grouped into sectors and each of those sectors has management organizations to give them direction."

ABLE, is listed as one of the sectors of Scientology. Therefore, the ABLE/social reform sector comes under the "inspection and policing" of the WatchDog Committee, which is "the highest ecclesiastical authority in the Church".

ABLE's individual purpose is set out on page 21.
At page 25, ABLE International's Commanding Officer reports to the Commanding Officer of the Flag Command Bureaux.

At page 25, ABLE International's Commanding Officer is a member of the FLAG NETWORK COORDINATION COMMITTEE.

Basically, do random stuff until you're confused, then you clear words from a dictionary. Sounds like what I've heard exscikids say. Ah that great LRH tech: Learn it yourself, you damn kids!

  26. Re: Colorado State Board of Education- Applied Scholastics!

I just finished drafting a letter I'm sending to every single member of the Colorado State Board of Education (yes, there are A LOT!).

It includes the links I mentioned earlier (Ex-Scientology Kids, XENU TV - Exposing Scientology Through Streaming Video) and also Operation Clambake - The Inner Secrets Of Scientology and Scientology v. Education and why they should visit these websites with quotes and a little information from each site. Obviously I highlighted the information that connects Scientology to Applied Scholastics Inc. (and there's a lot of that).

I also mentioned at the end of the letter that as long as the Colorado State Board of Education employs, gives any money to, or supports Scientology in any way I'm going to crusade against Scientology even harder, for my future children that may attend these schools and any child that is exposed to this dangerous cult. It's some powerful shit. ;)

    Fun!

Anybody want to donate for stamps? Lolz... just kidding. I got this.

Re: Colorado State Board of Education- Applied Scholastics!

Applied Scholastics and Study Tech are trademarks owned by Association for Better Living and Education (ABLE). ABLE in turn is a Church of Scientology subsidiary. Schools and organizations using Study Tech must pay 4% of total revenues as a licensing fee to Applied Scholastics. Government expenditures for our children's education could be siphoned off to the Church of Scientology, without our knowledge or consent.

There have been no objective, independent studies to evaluate the effectiveness of Study Tech as an educational method. L. Ron Hubbard, who created it, had no academic credentials. Dr. David Touretzky, research professor at Carnegie Mellon University, sums up Study Tech thusly:

“The real danger of Study Tech is that it was designed for indoctrination, not education. While it may be good at producing obedient Scientologists, it is completely at odds with promoting the ability to think independently. It quite deliberately aims to reduce a student's ability to think critically. Students are taught to distrust their own intelligence and background knowledge, passively and uncritically accepting whatever they are being told. This can only deprive students of a skill vital in an age saturated with conflicting messages, where critical thinking is essential to making sense of the world. Study Tech's doctrinaire and authoritarian approach to teaching is hostile to, and deserves no place in, secular educational institutions.”

    Will do, for sure.

I'll post a pic of all the envelopes that I'm mailing and a copy of the letter soon, it's going to be A LOT lol.:)

After 50 years of 99% bad new the last year has been a real watershed
to shout down the cult. Any win was a 'big' win.

If you can protect children from stupid cult/brainwash tech and help
Colorado preserve funds for thing that help... that's a BIG win.

    probably 2002-2003

But. The totalitarian mindfreak cult is/was structured for control/
control/control. Which most likely means they are paralyzed and
inflexible. All power and money flows upwards and all pressure
    flows downward.

Organizationally they are approaching a 'deer in the headlights'
moment. Not enough controlling people to control the control
points at each minscule level of control. Did I mention control?

I'm posting a link to the letter I've drafted for the staff members of Colorado State Board of Education.

244 people in total, I'm rustling up the dough for postage right now but it shouldn't take much longer.

Suggestions are appreciated if anyone thinks I should add/remove anything.

I've only been researching Scientology for a couple weeks so I obviously don't know much, but I know it's dangerous and I tried to convey that in my letter without sounding crazy.

It's kind of long... but out of 244 people, someone has to read it and take the links I provide and do some reasearch. The $ci-bots that are unquestionably present in the Board of Education are NOT going to like this. But I'm mailing every person individually and if there is any attempt to suppress/tamper with these letters, someone's going to notice. Federal offense anyone? teehee

    Thanks guys!

Re: Colorado State Board of Education- Applied Scholastics

I have read to whole letter and it sounded great at first but fell short at the ending. I was left with a feeling of "well what else?"

It needs more about what is destructive about Applied *&^^%(^ Scholastic! if you get my drift.
If this tech is dangerous perhaps it can be linked in your letter to bull baiting and how it works with often hours of hours of practice that eventually brainwashes the child or bull baiting him/her into submission to the learning.

I've never been there and I'm not an ex either so you will need more help from someone close to the source.

Re: Colorado State Board of Education- Applied Scholastics

    It is definitely tl;dr.

1.) OP needs to distill the first half (connection of Applied Scolastics to CoS) into 3 sentences.

2.) Why CoS is bad needs to be re-written. I would stick to the highlights - it's a criminally convicted organization, fair gaming critics.

3.) Letter needs to spell out exactly why Applied Scholastics is bad, not merely the connection to CoS.

4.) Put the references at the end.

Example (copypasta from Media Kit - Project Chanology - Toronto Division)
