Confirmed: www.bultannews.com OUTING protesters!

Discussion in 'Iran' started by Unregistered, Jun 21, 2009.

  1. center for the study of organized crime

^^^^ it says at the bottom of gerdab.ir pages
  2. ...

    None

It seems that this is "official" iranian web site. (IP not easily traceable till the host).
It has been amply discussed why no action should be undertaken again the iranan gov webbased resources...
If they are attacked they will shut down internet in Iran.
Between two bad choices plz be wise in choosing the least worse...
  3. Does anyone know a good url for a Farzi to English translator? I would really like to be able to read what these websites are saying..
    Thank you

google has a decent farsi/persian --> english translator, try it out

    Google Translate

the sequence of words in the sentence are not the same, but u usually get the general idea
  5. tt23 Member

No DDOS. Use slowris.pl to disable the web page. Slowloris HTTP DoS
  6. just an idea

Has anyone considered that if it is wrong for them, it is wrong for us. I hate to say it, I would really like to see the criminals dealt with; but I am not willing to help some kill someone else. By posting pictures of the militia on our site, we could be enabling someone to kill another person (and maybe someone in mistaken identity). My thinking is that if you are not willing to murder someone, you should not be helping someone else do it (posturing asside, how many of us could hold a man down and kill him as he is crying for is kids). They are bad, really bad, but we shoudl consider talking our photos down. This is not some jack-ass from Scientology, and someone's life might get cut short by the things we do.

I do not need the flames, but it is something to consider, rationally. Are we willing to have someone murdered?

    translating the ????? | Gerdab.ir
    wow, 1984 indeed

I am no hacker, but even a little child with nmap can see that this site is important - heavily firewalled etc. Hivemind??

You are preaching to the wrong choir. Say that to the ones beating and killing innocent woman and children.

"gerdab.ir" is Hosted in "Soroush Interactive Network " (in persian: Soroush Resaneh) . Soroush is a company for TV organization. They have the second high bandwidth in iran (first is TeleCommunication Co of Iran).
The owner of gerdab is Sepah (revolution Guardians).
As I said before, shutting down the site doesn't do so much good. and also I think actually publishing these pictures is better.
so the protesters would know that after this they have to put masks on.
They are doing this to threatening people, but these kind of thing would not threat anyone anymore!.
I think instead of shutting down the site, We have to show this to the world that they are doing this to the people.

Copy. Paste. Exec email carpet bomb.

I would like to formally request the immediate taking down of bultannews.com. This website is currently hosting material identifying Iranian protesters, as well as requesting personal information on individuals identified in photographs hosted by the website with the intent of finding these individuals and causing grievous harm to them and their families. Ethically, this is detestable. As a concerned citizen I feel your corporation has a responsibility not only to uphold your agreements with your clients, and US law, but ultimately to uphold the basic moral responsibilities of every human being. Keeping this web site operational is tantamount to being complacent in the violent acts they intend to commit with the information they request, and as what I believe to be a socially responsible organization, I, and other the people that may be affected by a website you are hosting, would be greatly appreciative if you put this website out of service as soon as possible. Lives depend on it.

    Thank You

Currently, the following email addresses seem to be working. No confirmation if they are actually what I think they are. If anybody else gets the others, post them up so we can send it to the other execs as well.

    abuse@theplanet.com
    legal@theplanet.com
    derwin@theplanet.com (CEO?)
    kklausmeyer@theplanet.com (CFO?)

    baghalizer may have a point.

much as i hate the concept of such a site, it may be possible to turn it against them. especially if we can provide a solid link between it and Sepah. and it will definitely be much easier than trying to hack or otherwise kill the site.
  12. shutting down the site would be of no use. It would only provide them a proof of foreign involvment into the struggle. DO NOT take action against gov site!
  13. ???? ????? ??

I do believe sirs, these people here (with their faces censored) are in trouble for uploading pwrn.
  14. dom_perignon Member

I just sent the links to the swiss press. Do it also in your country.
  15. tt23 Member

well they are going to claim whatever they want anyway.
  16. It appears that they are getting the photos from Western media websites unaware that the photos they are posting are being used for nefarious purposes. While I agree that we can't contact every news organization, perhaps we can at least contact the larger ones and ask them to at least pixelate the protester's face if they are going to post photos of protesters. I've sent a couple of messages to CNN and Huffington Post asking them to pixelate the protesters' faces. I think that many of these news organizations would be horrified if they knew that they may potentially be contributing to the death of Iranian protesters. I am guessing that many of them are simply unaware of this.
  17. links to porn please
need to be posted to this site.
    ????? | Gerdab.ir
Lots of places to rat and send messages to the cyberguard.
  18. plan of action

    1) Get the US site taken down by email campaign.

    2) Until that happens, someone write a script to bomb the hell out of the reply form here: ??? ???????? ?? ??????? ???? and put a link up in this thread, simialr to the infinitely refreshing DOS pages. There is no image verification deal, so it should be trivial. These will likely not harm the US servers, but will flood the mailbox in Iran.

    3) Email carpet-bomb info@gerdab.ir

I agree 2 and 3 are questionable in that it is western interference. However, lives are on the line here, and if we can overload their inbox to the point that they can not receive tips on who the pictured people are, we may be saving lives. A no-brainer if you ask me.

Bringing down the site is not a realistic option, unless someone with super mad skillz gets involved. Would probably require social engineering even then, so best done by an Iranian inside Iran anyway.

  36. Thanks for the information. I sent a complaint into Google. My concern is that there is no way to state what exactly is hateful about the blog. I am hoping they can figure it out.
  37. blogspot site

I emailed the following to abuse@blogger.com. No bounceback yet, so someone may read it.

I would like to formally request the immediate removal of shenasaee.blogspot.com. This blog is currently hosting material identifying Iranian protesters, as well as requesting personal information on individuals identified in photographs hosted by the website with the intent of finding these individuals and causing grievous harm to them and their families. Ethically, this is detestable. As a concerned citizen I feel your corporation has a responsibility not only to uphold your agreements with your clients, and US law, but ultimately to uphold the basic moral responsibilities of every human being. Keeping this blog operational is tantamount to being complacent in the violent acts they intend to commit with the information they request, and as what I believe to be a socially responsible organization, I, and other the people that may be affected by a website you are hosting, would be greatly appreciative if you put this website out of service as soon as possible. Lives depend on it.
This blog shares content with gerdab.ir, which is hosted in Iran and bultannews.com, hosted in the US. The contact links on bultannews.com are directed to gerdab.ir. If you follow this link: ?????????? ?? ??????? ???? you will see the same pictures and request for identifying information about the protestors (a rough translation of both sites can be obtained from Googles translation feature). Gerdab.ir appears to be the site for a branch of the IRG (Iranian Revolutionary Guard). There is absolutely no doubt that if they are able to identify and locate these protestors, they will be harmed or killed. You have the ability to help prevent that.

There is currently a campaign underway with the interest of protecting these people and others whose pictures may be posted in the future. We are also contacting mainstream media across the globe and requesting that they discontinue publishing photos of protestors unless their faces are obscured. We will be referring the media to bultannews.com, gerdab.ir, and shenasaees blog as evidence that people who have been photographed are being actively hunted down. You have the ability to shutdown one of these sites.

    Thank you.
  38. ok. Thanks mate. Didn't see that thread.
