Re: Dallas - Feb 10 and 13 I has suit. But I'm not sure I can even make it up there that weekend. >_>
Re: Dallas - Feb 10 and 13 Dallas is newly reformed - so far I think only Lord Anon has protested before. Lots of newfags, myself included. Agreed. LordAnon, as you are the current resident oldfag, I have PM'd you.
Re: Dallas - Feb 10 and 13 lol, this is true. And now all the newfags (like me) are PMing him for his profound wisdom Also, I have an update. Since the area in front of the Los Colinas clock seems like a very good area (it's more public and gets much more attention, so we can make more of an impact on non-Scientolotists and inform them. It's also right next to a bus stop) I contacted the Irving police about it. I got an email back with a number to call so that they could ask a few questions and such and answer mine (and although I didn't get answers to my questions, I should get a response in the next few days) This is what was said in the phone call: -With regards to masks, he said that on previous occasions they got calls from people that said that the masks were were "alarming" though he stated that it was no reason that we couldn't wear them. Of course, we knew that, but it was nice to hear it, haha. -He asked a few questions about the days the church had "services" and simply stated that we weren't protesting on Sunday (I'm not sure about the relevance of that though. He didn't say we couldn't. He just said that we weren't.) -He asked about how many people we were expecting. I told him I didn't know, but possibly between 5 and 10 (though I seriously doubt it will be very big, heh) and he confirmed the hours for each day -He said that we may have to get a permit to be in front of the Los Colinas clock (which shouldn't be a problem. We've got enough time to get that worked out. It's the perfect spot, I think! lol, I keep saying that. I would appreciate if someone else would help me out with getting the permit depending on what all you have to do for it.) He told me he had to check to know for sure about the permit though, and I should get information back from him soon on whether or not one is needed and how to go about obtaining one. -I confirmed that we could stand in front of the church on the sidewalk, but not in the parking lot or anything because it is public property. I also knew this, but, again, it's always nice to have it confirmed for safe measure. So, anyway, as soon as I get an answer about whether a permit is needed for being in front of the clock I'll let you all know. I think that it would make a better place than in front of the church (though we will of course go up to the church from time to time. It's short walking distance). We should meet in front of the Los Colinas clock at the starting times for the protests (because if we need a permit, we should have one by then, and if we don't... well, we won't need one) and we can choose if and when to go to the church from there. If anyone wants to try to set up another meeting place so you're not walking there alone, that might be possible as well, but the overall meeting place should be at the clock
Re: Dallas - Feb 10 and 13 permit = namefagged??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
Re: Dallas - Feb 10 and 13 Hmm... I don't know if we'll need one though. I might let myself be... I don't know. I'm kind of uber paranoid, so we'll just wait and see.
Re: Dallas - Feb 10 and 13 ALSO: Dallasfags, does anyone have moar info about local cultie stuff - Narconon, Crimanon, etc? My internets searching has not turned up much but a private school with "no religious affiliation" based on Applied Scholastics in Carrolton, and lots of pandering for Narconon Arrowhead (in OK). Aside from that, the org, the stress tests at Irving and Valley View malls, where else have they sunk their grubby little LRH tentacles??????????????????????????
Re: Dallas - Feb 10 and 13 I've basically seen all the same things. No others though. All the things you've mentioned, I've personally seen with the exception of one. >_> I was looking on that school website a couple of days ago (I already knew of the school and decided to look it up, wondering if there were Applied Scholastics schools for high schoolers. No, thank God.) I do know of a few companies that are run by Scientologists, at least one of which uses LRH tech and teaches it to their employees. If you're curious about that, PM me. I don't think protesting there would work out or anything, but if you're interested just out of curiousity, I can tell you, lol. (Or if you want to go in and make subtle anti-Scientology suggestions. You know, whatever, lol) Also, there are the VMs, I guess, but they don't make a particular appearance all the time, so that doesn't really count for much. UPDATE!!!!!! The police said we should be fine since it's a public sidewalk, so we shouldn't need a permit for being in front of the clock. Also, someone suggested that I ask about megaphones and music as well, so I did. I was told it's okay unless they get too many complaints and ask us to turn it off.
Re: Dallas - Feb 10 and 13 Yay, loud and proud. Time to start compiling a raid playlist and researching portable speakers.
Re: Dallas - Feb 10 and 13 Haha XD That email came from Charles Meeks from the Irving PD. The other info I got through the phone call, which was posted earlier was from Kevin Burkett (just so we've got names)
Re: Dallas - Feb 10 and 13 see!, now thats when things might get a bit complicated...( portable speakers or megaphones might be prohibited in certain areas due to some city ordinances that can apply to picketing or protesting not yalls case.. i am pretty sure such ordinances apply only when you're protesting in a business area. of course code of conduct, time, place and manner are taken in consideration. Anyhow... yall will be allright.
Re: Dallas - Feb 10 and 13 The Dallas Org IS in a business area. It's all parking garages and businesses on a street that no one that isn't in those businesses (or the church) ever goes to. (And the Irving Patrol) That's why the sidewalk by the clock on the main street by the highway is the best option.
Re: Dallas - Feb 10 and 13 It's been way to long since I have been out to protest...I am going to try and make the 13th. It will be cool to meet you all (and hopefully see some familiar faces).
Re: Dallas - Feb 10 and 13 Question I live in a town to the west of Dallas. Does anyone have a street address for the clock in Las Colinas. I'd like to map it before I drive over
Re: Dallas - Feb 10 and 13 Well, there's not an address, no. It's at the corner of highway 114 (John Carpenter Freeway) and O'Connor. It's on the service road on the eastbound side of the highway. If you want an address though, I used 100 East John Carpenter Freeway Irving, Tx 75062 on google maps and it sent me to the parking lot right behind the clock. If you're to the west though, just take 114 to the east and exit at O'Connor. You'll see it But drive to other places and look around and find somewhere discreet to park. Hope to see you there And Tex, all the anon's faces are familiar, lol. Hope to see you there though
Re: Dallas - Feb 10 and 13 Woooo here come teh oldfagz!!!!!!!11!!1!1111! I haven't even started seriously looking yet and if I find one that's a little more than I'm willing to pay, I'll definitely double-check about usage before I buy. If they're cheap though there's not really much to lose.

Re: Dallas - Feb 10 and 13 Great list...Rise Against's newest album has some good songs on it also. Check out "Whereabouts Unknown" and "The Strength to Go On".
Re: Dallas - Feb 10 and 13 I say Mr. Blue Sky by ELO because it is simply amazing! Rock n Roll is King (also ELO) Beautiful World by Archive Richest Man In Babylon by Thievery Corporation 1984 by David Bowie Savior Machine by David Bowie All the Madmen by David Bowie The Man Who Sold the World by David Bowie They by Jem Free by Estelle (although Scientology might think we're talking about THEM freeing people. NOT!) Maybe Handlebars by the Flobots, too, because it's really deep (Only the end with the word "Holocaust" they can say "OMG LOOK! ANON REALLY IS A BUNCH OF NAZIS!!!1!!11!!!" because they're losers) And erm, I can't think of any more right now...
Re: Dallas - Feb 10 and 13 I had a dream about these songs being played at the protest, haha! It was a dream of the future (I should've dreamed about the Co$ falling, too! Damn) Also, would anyone be willing to bring a shitload of AA batteries (like... the good ones: Duracell, Energizer, NOT generic brands)? My camera only takes AA and they die after about 20 minutes of video... :/ (and I can't afford batteries. Stupid money) If not, I wanna make sure other people are bringing cameras too. 20 minutes is not much considering the full length of the protests.
Re: Dallas - Feb 10 and 13 Oh, by the way, just reminding everyone! If you're going to buy anything in nearby restaurants or the gas station across the street, you will have to take your mask off for one thing... also, bring CASH so that you're not namefagged by a card. Also, we might all pitch in for pizza or something so that people don't have to wander off to buy food. So cash is a good thing to have... Remember WATER as well We are mostly newfags here in Dallas, aren't we? D: Oldfags, SHOW YOURSELVES! JUST UNDER TWO WEEKS TIL THE WEDNESDAY PROTEST JUST OVER THAT FOR THE SATURDAY ONE!!! It's coming up soon Get your signs and fliers made fast! Disguises/masks, etc... If anyone has iPod speakers or a small battery-powered boombox, please say so! Otherwise, no music (especially if it's a CD player and no one bothers to make any CDs)
Re: Dallas - Feb 10 and 13 Alright, so I realized something during all of this rain. It may rain on our protest dates. So I checked the weather. On the 10th, it says there should be showers in the morning but should clear up, so hopefully this won't affect us. The website only goes through the 12th so far, so I'm not sure about Saturday, but Thursday and Friday are supposed to be sunny. Keep your fingers crossed. It might even get into the 70s by Saturday, but let's not get too hopeful. Irving weather forecast
Re: Dallas - Feb 10 and 13 Advice: be prepared for rain. Raiding in the rain can be fun People definitely don't expect protesters to be out and squirrelling, you won't see as many people on the road, but the ones who see you will be impressed. Keep the umbrellas and water-proofed signs handy.
Re: Dallas - Feb 10 and 13 Hmm... waterproofing signs... I never even thought of that. Exactly how would we do this? If it's too expensive, I may not be able to do it. (I wonder where all of our alleged psychiatry funding is right now... Haha, silly Scilons thinking we actually get money for this... We get almost as much money as their staff members get (penniesperhourwhat?). Almost... LOL. I think it boils down to us receiving a negative amount. Hmm...) Anyway, I have a handy little rain pancho somewhere... I think... But I still don't know about waterproofing signs.
Re: Dallas - Feb 10 and 13 If you already have your signs done, you can make a few more. Think: stuff that would survive water. foam board, White Foam Boards, 20" x 30" | Staples® maybe decals for lettering maybe stencils and spraypaint Or sharpies with "paint" instead of ink uni® Paint Markers, Blue | Staples® Probably a bit more expensive to build than dry-weather signs, but probably more durable, and will last longer too Hm. supposedly ordinary "Sharpie" markers are waterproof. Try it and see?
Re: Dallas - Feb 10 and 13 Saran Wrap? I'm not saying I know, I'm just throwing that idea out there. Whatever you do, it's still great to hear what you people are doing. Hope you get lots of people out there to help you make your point.
Re: Dallas - Feb 10 and 13 If it's raining, my dry-erase tech will be foiled D: Guess I should write on the non-DE side. Still bringing drinks.
Re: Dallas - Feb 10 and 13 Dallas, via the Young Ones [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=57WpwHE-d-Y"]YouTube- Neil's dream - The Young Ones - BBC comedy[/ame] Gogogo
Re: Dallas - Feb 10 and 13 take your normal dry-weather sign and cover it in clear packing tape. ads rigidity and effectively shields it from rain. working on my lion mask. should prove awesome.
Re: Dallas - Feb 10 and 13 Corrugated plastic tech should handle possible soggy signs I think I'm just going to bring that one to be safe. So we're still on, even on a rainy day, right? (No wimp-outs?)
Re: Dallas - Feb 10 and 13 i guess both... but mainly agaisnt rain... i had a very creative Lisa Mcpherson sign but was ruined by rain ... not this one
Re: Dallas - Feb 10 and 13 i are in central oklahoma. i have a large handful of ppl who are willing to drive down, and I might have megaphone and definitely have AA batteriez. cool?
Re: Dallas - Feb 10 and 13 Dallas keeps getting moar and moar people! /jealous Then again...so is Austin.
Re: Dallas - Feb 10 and 13 Well, we don't has Co$ here in OK, or i'd be trying to organize a raids myself. But you say they do have footholdz here?
Re: Dallas - Feb 10 and 13 Yea. Idle org in Dallas, a org here in Austin, and 2 or so [STRIKE]churches[/STRIKE] cults in Houston.
