It's posted by a "Karen Simon" who is on the whyaretheydead page, killed in 1991 by hanging. Sounds like a troll to me, trying to stir up controversy that's not there.

Then again, if someone at gold knows something and is just baiting on the investigators to look into it, then I'd be interested in a followup.

    Somehow I doubt it, though.

Ah - I just googled the name, and yes, its probably a troll.

Saying that though, has anyone done any research looking for unexplained deaths in or around Gold? I remember there being a foreign woman found dead in the desert not so long ago. Is there an easy way to find out this information?

This could not be less helpful if I tried but somewhere last year I found an ex-Sci story, where he said the local Indians knew where bodies were buried near Hemet or some such.

I didn't pay much attention since I thought everyone knew.

"Like that unidentified body they found wearing RPF clothes on the Soboda Indian reservation near the INT base. (Ida Camburn wrote about it on ars)" From a LadyBird 2005 post quoted in the Uwe Stockenbrook thread.

I remember seeing a news article about this somewhere, also. As I recall, no further investigation was done and no further details were released.

The dead body that was found on the Soboba Reservation: could it be
    Ken Hoden?

An excerpt from Escapes from Scientology's Gold Base through Soboba Indian Reservation, by Jesse Prince
    "Thank you Ida,
The Indian that picked Spike and me up made a statement, it was known in the Indian community, that people had died and the bodies were hidden at Happy Valley. Prior to being put on the RPF in Happy Valley, I had only gone there to talk with ex-Scientology executives and principles who were now deemed criminal by the sailors. I knew there were many Scientology management people being taken to Happy Valley, and I never knew what happened to them all. When the Indian started talking about what he knew about Happy Valley, I was unnerved, and it added to the panic and anxiety of my escaping."

    From Another Death at Scientology'

The page is too tl;dr for my drunken mind to process, but it appears she was a Scientologist.
    This jumps out:

Interesting choice of words? A coded warning to others?

The page needs full sober-anon processing. There are also links on there that I am too drunken to click.

I've seen video from this on Youtube. The German reporters being held against their will on a desert road being blocked by a back hoe and two scilon vehicles. It looks like they were trying to find some German citizens who had gone missing. Turns out they were trying to drive out to "Happy Valley".
Scary story. Ken Hoden plays prominently in this as well.

Have a look at Google Maps Street View of Happy Valley near Hemet, California.

Be sure and look behind to see the Black SUV that follows the Google Camera Car driver all the way from Soboba Road.

Stacy Moxon's death is far stranger than I thought. How the F would any body know that a squirrel died in an underground electrical vault when the only entrance is through a manhole with a 1 1/2" inch thick steel cover? (An average manhole cover weight is approximately 129 pounds).

Ken Hodrin used to run Golden Era Productions. He's involved in at least two of the incidents mentioned here.
Maybe BFG knows something about these incidents.

Ida Camburn supposedly knows about the dead guy in RPF uniform. She was around for the protests at Gold last weekend. Anybody know how to ask her a question or two about this?

Anybody know if Happy Valley is still owned/operated by the cult? Maybe a drive up to have a look see is in order. With a metal detector and some shovels.

Re: Deaths at or around Gold?

LOL, that reply of their was to my post comparing scientology to several cults but especially to Aum Shinrikyo, thatcult that gassed people to death in Tokyo with nerve gas they cooked up themselves. As I read up on them, I was pretty creeped by how scientology like they were. People in cells in their compound. Weapons stockpiles. They even had about as many members as scientology was reported to have last year (40-50 thousand). They also forced "donations" out of members like the cos does and kidnapped people and held them agianst their will.

Aum Shinrikyo was like scientology only even more dangerous. They assassinated police and other people. They gassed a subway and killed 12 innocent people in a nerve gas test. They had enough chems to make enough sarin to kill 4 million people. It's fucking scary and it's why cos needs brought under scrutiny. How can we know they aren't cooking up something as sinister as Aum Shinrikyo did?

Comparing them to that cult may help in letters to officials because that was a prime example of the horrors that an organization that uses religion to hide from scrutiny can wreak upon the world.

By the way, according to wikipedia, they still have almost 2000 followers despite what happened and their cult being all but outlawed by Japan. We have our work cut out for us here.

Edit: To keep this on topic, their reply was surprising too. I think someone slipped up badly there and that I accidentally pushed a big button with one of their people who may know something. Or maybe not but that was pretty weird.

Re: Deaths at or around Gold?

I'm pretty sure it was a troll. Poster named "Karen Simon" directed an Ex-sci who posted to a Larry Brennan YouTube Vid and also told her she might be able to join the BFG lawsuit.

I want to hear from Ida or BFG about this but I will bet there is more than one rotting corpse in the ground of Happy Valley.

Re: Deaths at or around Gold?

This does need input from ex-staff members. It also needs someone fairly local to start digging around for information from locals (including the native American community), as well as going through docs.

Re: Deaths at or around Gold?

There was a thread on this one February or so last year that might be lurking back in the archives. (It was before a software change on Enturbulation, and needed a bit of hunting afterwards.)

Hemet and San Jacinto briefs 11/7 November 6, 2007, Jessica Logan, Press-Enterprise

Few details released on body November 17, 2007, Charles Hand, Valley Chronicle
It's quite possible that it didn't involve Scientology, except for being on Gold's "doorstep".

Re: Deaths at or around Gold?

It keeps jumping out at me as something quite sinister:

Squirrels? Dying in vaults? I'll leave that to your imagination.
A reference to the woman having a relationship of some sort with a PTS/SP/RPF member?
Squirrel was mentioned 4 times in a small paragraph? Knowing the arrogance of the cult, especially back then, this can't be just a coincidence can it?

Any Ex's care to comment on their feelings about this?

Re: Deaths at or around Gold?

Why would somebody dump a body on Gilman Springs Road, a road that everybody knows has cameras covering multiple angles of every foot? Everybody I know likes to dump their dead bodies in private.
I wonder if the investigating cops asked to see the tapes from Gold Base when this investigation was being conducted.

Re: Deaths at or around Gold?

Not an Ex but this statement from Hodin reeks of too much unasked for detail, a hallmark of liars everywhere. It's as if he's taking great pleasure telling this squirrel code story to the public, knowing they don't understand that he is actually confessing the crime. It's unusually creepy even for a scilon.

Re: Deaths at or around Gold?

    From Jesse Prince, 2002 (src)

I think, apart from trying to get info from Ex's, there needs to be a way to ask the native American's. Jesse talks about a casino. That could be a good place to start putting out feelers.

How many Sci's totally disappeared after going to Gold/HV? Is there a list anywhere?

Re: Deaths at or around Gold?

There is some thread about a hang glider who got "arrested" by the cult police impersonation squad that went around a while back. I saw it linked in one of the KESQ threads as well. At some point it mentions the police talking about hikers being murdered in the hills up there. I'm sure there are public records that could be checked out in the county or in Hemet or even at the state level.

Re: Deaths at or around Gold?

I know Ken & Lisa Hoden well. Ken tended to be a hot head which always got him into trouble. He placed Peter Reichelt, a German reporter (who had arranged for me to fly to Germany to meet government officials on OSA operations) and his assistant, Ina, under citizen's arrest. When the sheriffs deputy arrived and analyzed the situation, he placed Ken Hoden & other guards under arrest instead.

Because Peter & Ina are German nationals in the U.S. for a short time, and did not want to return to the U.S. for all the court proceedings pursuant to an arrest, the charges against Hoden & the guards were dropped.

Happy Valley is no more. The cult ended their lease of the property owned by the Soboda Indians. It is now a retreat: The Oaks Retreat which can only be accessed on a private road which has since been paved. Access is by official approval only & there is a tribal police checkpoint at the bottom of the hill to enforce this.

    This is just awesome.

Here's a direct link for the curious - rotate to look back to see the following black van.
  31. I know this is an old thread, but with the new Leah Remini documentary out, people are talking again. I have lived in Hemet 15 years and my husband has been here for 30. I have a lot of friends who live on the reservation and have heard a lot of stories. One of them is that the graveyard is behind a red barn by Castille Canyon School. It's well known by all the tribe members I have known well enough to have this conversation with.
  32. If you have credible allegations of crimes committed at this property, or credible allegations of bodies or other evidence buried there, then please report it to the local authorities in San Jacinto and Hemet.

Pretty much the entire Soboba tribe would have to be conspiring to cover up these deaths you allege. Also, ain't no way the tribe is going to let non-members remain buried on their property - covertly or otherwise. Nice Try.

  36. Wouldn't it be Scientology property if the bodies are buried next to their barn? I am just assuming they own the land around their barn, which is reasonable.

If the Guest poster is telling the truth, then it would seem to me that the assumption should be that the bodies are buried on Scientology property, not tribe or reservation land.
