In the event that the Iranian government shuts down the Internet, what can Iranian citizens do to establish their own public network? A shadow Internet infrastructure if you will. there are peer to peer wifi options, but from what I understand this has scalability issues. they could covertly run network lines between buildings, and this might work well in local setups, but over long distance it has problems. I recently stumbled upon this project and I think it could be useful in setting up longer range connections, but it would probably need to operate in non-visible spectrum, and possibly have several different link points that alternate in activity every few minutes. any other ideas for keeping the signal from getting stopped?
