Re: Detroit Org Wizard of Oz Party "FOOD! GAMES! PRIZES!" $20 says the 'prizes' are 'free stress test coupons', 'discount on scientology courses', 'discounts on scientology books', the grand prize being a peridot bust of Hubbard.
Re: Detroit Org Wizard of Oz Party Hubbard designed scientology as a series of "appalling". The offense committed by organized scientology constitutes fraud before the U.S. Copyright Office.
Re: Detroit Org Wizard of Oz Party i heard back from PD White. i'll be posting this over in the copyright infringements thread, too. if there are lawfags who would like to comment on the possibility of finding someone who will work on contingency for Mr. White, and perhaps put the interested parties in contact, that would be just gravy.
Re: Detroit Org Wizard of Oz Party Mr. White doesn't need to go to court, necessarily. He could just send them a bill. They might actually pay it to avoid small claims court. Small claims court doesn't allow lawyer representation and AFAIK, doesn't cost anything -- if he wanted to go that route. He might pick up a few hundred bucks, in any case.
Re: Detroit Org Wizard of Oz Party Could a DMCA takedown form be used? Lawyers don't get involved unless the cult either contests it, or ignores it. Of course there is no compensatory gain in winning a DMCA. Too late now of course. The deed is done and the cult will have profited today from using the image.

Re: Detroit Org Wizard of Oz Party They got the idea from listening to the people on RPF chanting, "There's no place like home."
Re: Detroit Org Wizard of Oz Party Was keeping an eye whether all day. Report called for thunderstorms. This is relevant to my interests. Decided to head down at the last minute. Circled around, saw spiky haired boy wandering around dressed as what he apparently thought was a munchkin. Think he spotted me at that time and went back into the org to put them on high alert. Parked up the street, and was masking up in the doorway of a building when the security guard came bursting out demanding that I take off the mask and get up against the wall. Took me about 10 minutes to calm him down. He told me there had been a bank robbery nearby recently. I was shooting some video when I noticed the batteries had died even though I had thought I charged them up before I left. Had to switch to the phone, and was hoping that was charged up. It also makes for harder to edit videos because of the different formats. I wish Bill and Steve would learn to play together better. So my heart was pumping when I got there. They started pulling more cars up in front of the org to block it off. I have footage of it taking four of them to get one guy to parallel park correctly. So much for LRH parking tech. They also put up posters on the revolving door to block out the visual. Seemed to be far fewer people than at the last event a week or two ago. Decided to target the scilons this time instead of the public, and my theme was Rex Fowler. "How could an OT 7 murder someone? That's not supposed to happen." It's hard working a megaphone through a mask. lol Was getting a little edgy being up there by myself when I saw backup arriving. There is no more beautiful sight. Had a few encounters with pedestrians. Few of the people in Detroit have any idea about Scientology. And since there is still no sign on the building, they really want no idea what you're doing. Was concerned about the newbie, but all's well that ends well. I've always depended on the kindness of strangers. The event was to start at 7 PM, and since the streets were basically deserted, and everyone who was coming to the event was already in there for the next couple of hours there was no point in staying. We enturbulate even when we aren't there.

Re: Detroit Org Wizard of Oz Party nope only saw 2 spiky hair boy as a munchin? and someone through the door that i thought had tall hair that otheranon thought was the tinman we both were saddened to see a dad bringing a child there but i bet the child could see how pathetic it all was still no sign on the place is starting to say something to me why wouldn't they put up something, however temporary? many many reasons come to mind another sad scene was when a couple scilons came out to read the historical marker plaque on the corner of the building which, ironically, notes that it is the original location of of Ste. Anne's church, from 1701 iirc as they perused that i said some appropriate things a million stories in the naked city
