There hasn't' been anything Fresh about Doug E Fresh in years
and someone needs to inform Terrance Dean the author of that article that Scientology is not the fastest growing religion.

Not to derial... but he wrote a book and also talked about Will Smoth:

"A well known Hollywood insider has revealed to IUC that Will Smith has been part of an elite circle of Hollywood’s gay men for years. Terrance Dean, author of the bestselling, explosive memoir “Hiding In Hip Hop”, dated many leading Hollywood men when he spent years working on film sets in Tinseltown"

“It should come as no surprise that Will Smith, or any other major Hollywood celebrity is gay and have used the services of escorts for male company,” Dean told IUC. “Many Hollywood male celebrities use discrete services and will pay top dollar for male company"

Ohhhhhh! So that's why Smith has that private Scientology school.... to pay for his dates?I thought it was all about Scientology recruitment. LOL!

Scientology didn't help, but the average lifespan of a music career closely resembles that of the mayfly. But lulz at Doug E. Fresh... existing.

Is Doug E Fresh taking over the "urban spokesman" mantle for World Literacy Crusade from Isaac Hayes?

It is effective inroads for Sci to have a beloved cultural figure and local Harlem resident in place to shill for their cause.

He currently resides in Central Harlem with his five sons, two of whom are in a hip-hop group called Square Off and are featured on Fresh's recently released single "Left-Right."

Fresh is a member of the Church of Scientology. He has performed for large audiences of its adherents at the Scientology Celebrity Center's Anniversary Gala in 2004, 2005, and 2006.

He also performed two tracks on the all-star Scientology music album The Joy of Creating.

Yeah I see that he's been in for a while, he was tight with Hayes etc. I was just wondering if he will be our next "celebrity spokesman."

Although it's funny, I've been looking in to the World Literacy Crusade a little bit. I don't seem to find any active offices...? (Edit Edit- I see just the main office on the ABLE website) Rev Alfreddie Johnson is listed as the founder on the WLC website. There are also lots of newsy references to Chaka Khan, Isaac Hayes, Lisa Marie Presley etc.

Along with the usual bs unsubstantiated statistics.

    What does WLC do?

Funny, Rev Johnson's most recent claim to fame was to be recalled from the Lynwood City Council, 2007.

    Before-
Lynwood defies order to hold recall - The council strips the city clerk of her duties when she tries to certify petitions. And it refuses to set an election date. A judge gets the case today. - Los Angeles Times

    and after=
City Council Member to Replace Alfreddie Johnson; City of Lynwood Election Information September 25, 2007 Election

PS LA Anon- do not scorn me for being late to the game. I am just trying to figure this all out.

Oh, here is a World Literacy Crusade sockpuppet:

Re: Essence Magazine: Rapper Doug E. Fresh Finds Faith in Scientology

Lots of things to raise eyebrows in the last two posts. Good find. Curiosity turns up lots of good finds :)

The house claims to need $15 mil to be completed. A senator has requested $7mil for Mama Hattie House: WashingtonWatch.com - Earmark Disclosure 14953, Mama Hattie's House

Are they directly or indirectly involved with the GPR/MHH? Program director of the house does not come up in scientology searches, so hopefully this is just another bandwagon that scientology is jumping on. Should questions be raised about how much of "your check" goes to the MHH? More research is needed.

This earmark is for World Literacy Crusade of Florida Inc. I'd say that's pretty direct involvement.

Here is Kendrick Meek's list of appropriations requests:

I think this topic needs its own thread.

More and more articles popping up that could use an Anonymous touch. AFAIC, even if the article isn't about his scilonism, it still deserves a comment. :)

who the fuck is Doug E Fresh?

Re: Essence Magazine: Rapper Doug E. Fresh Finds Faith in Scientology

Not so fast. The fact that he's not important in your world doesn't mean he's not a hero to thousands of people. Lots of people pooh-poohed Isaac Hayes too, until his career got reinvigorated and he started to travel around representing World Literacy Crusade.

And most of the people who love Doug E Fresh are not wise to the ways of Sci.

"Doug E. Fresh bei Scientology" LOL

Yeah, but at least Isaac Hayes had put out good music at some point in his life. Can Doug E. Fail say the same?
