Having a school for kids with disabilities makes sense. The US government mandates that all schools must provide for their handicapped population (special needs kids, wheelchair ramps, etc) or provide alternate schooling. Unless you build the alternate school yourself, you have to send the kids to a public special-needs school, where they wouldn't get their Scientology brainwashing.

This was a case in New York State where there was a Hasidic school that didn't want to spend the money to install wheelchair ramps, and the state said they had to install them or the state would get custody of the kids and send them to a public school for the handicapped. The Hasidim didn't want their kids getting a secular education, so they eventually gave in.

    LAME.

Seems to me they were violating a bit moar than just Federal law there.

    Edit:

Which case were you thinking of?
    The ongoing Kiryas Joel saga?

Or this one with many problems wheelchair access least of all.

If the first, doesn't seem as though "didn't want to spend money" was the problem :[

    Edit 2:

    bleh. derail.

    Edit: ^^ yeah, that.

He used to have the site www.larryshouse.com Notes: Lawrence Master counseling center, connection Debbie Mace.

(Hmm, Wayback is have technical difficulties bringing up Internet Archive Wayback Machine right now.)

I assume that Debbie was the Mace in the Mace-Kingsley Ranch of many negative stories.

    This:

Drug Treatment for Teen Girls - Four Winds Ranch Residential Treatment and Recovery Center

From where you got the photos, residential facility for adolescent girls (calm down pedos) and recommended by Dr. Phil

(in Oklahoma, connected to legitimate treatment groups and recognized counseling centers, professionals, etc. See here: Oklahoma Outreach Drug Counseling)

is not the same as this:

Welcome to The Four Winds Ranch (scientology shit)

So, calm down and find your target.

Re: Four Winds Ranch - dumping ground for FAILED scientology kids

So, is this guy a real PhD or a fake one??

The whole point of getting a PhD is the ability to conduct independent research. Any real "doctor" of anything philosophy, medicine, engineering, physics , religion ,,,anything would have to publish or at the very least co-author some kind of dissertation in order to receive an advanced degree. If there is nothing in the Pub Med or ebsco it would have to at least be in ERIC. (i have a masters paper published in ERIC). Also , speaking from experience , it would be almost impossible NOT to find SOME kind of reference to this guy because
    A) Any real PhD has a CV published someplace and

    B) half of most dissertations out there are citations from "other" dissertations and hence search-able.

If there is nothing found from these sources it's 99.99% certain that the degree he has is a PhD from the University of My Ass (Caymen Islands).

DH...you do know that the part you edited to say "yeah, that" included this part?

No need for you to assume anything. This dude is tied Mace of Mace Kingsley.

That's all I need to fucking know.

If Larry Masters, PhD, actually passed coursework in organic chemistry, biochemistry, physiology, and nutrition, and made an original contribution to the field of nutrition science, I will volunteer to email the department that awarded him his doctorate to tell them their graduate is promoting bullshit.

Nitpick: There is no "Doctor of Nutritional Sciences." The idiom is "PhD in Human Nutrition" or "Doctor of Philosophy in Nutrition."

Re: Four Winds Ranch - dumping ground for FAILED scientology kids

I was looking in ebsco and checked several collections in various disciplines. Nothing at all that I could see. I'll check again next time I'm in there but I think either the name or the degree is fake.

The pic taken in 2002 makes him look about 50. That would mean he would be born in 1952 and 14 in 1966. But I am guessing some diploma mill Phd also.

    Awesome.

If anyone can actually come up with a story from this place or the place in Tennessee? Please, PLEASE PM me with the info because I have someone who would really, REALLY like some info about what goes on inside Four Winds and the place in Tennessee, too.

This appears as some version of a "touch assist".
There does not exist any scientific evidence that touch assists help improve illnesses or injuries. Just more Hubbardian nonsense and delusion.
Strange that he holds his hand in that fashion. Also note the prop diagram of the human skeletal system on the wall. That has absolutely nothing to do with touch assists. Just more misrepresentation.
