Re: French trial: the media It will not hinder the progress of Scientology in Québec - Jean Larivière, DSA Montreal According to him Scientology is a ''highway'' that will go on for ''eternity''. Anonymous is interviewed in this article and ask why nothing is done here in Quebec. Scientology puts the blame on everyone else again (as they always do) and calls a past case against Hubbard in France a ''heresy trial''.
Re: French trial: the media Irish media picked it up > Scientology on trial in France - The Irish Times - Mon, May 25, 2009 And this in three hours ago by Inquirer.net (but not all that interesting yet, pretty much the same as the Reuter's reports)> Church of Scientology on trial in France - INQUIRER.net, Philippine News for Filipinos I notice the spokeshole in France for Co$ is claiming 45,000 members in France. Re: French trial: the media I fucking love how they referred to the cult as a "corporate entity." Beautiful.
Re: French trial: the media I'd noticed some reports were saying that scientology was registered as a religion in the USA and at the time it made me go "lol wut?". I was going to mention it the next time it cropped up but then an article just popped up on google news which noted the anomally... Registering Religion - Maggie Gallagher - The Corner on National Review Online
Re: French trial: the media Wow!! It seems like yesterday that the press was too frightened to print anything negative about our friendly neighborhood cult.
Re: French trial: the media Yes, moreover some mention 1953, 1973, 1993... Might become true in 2013...
Re: French trial: the media This Maggie character seems chock full of AIDS. Still, valid point is valid. But what /does/ a group in the US have to do to be recognized as a religion for tax purposes? Inb4scientologyisnotareligion
Re: French trial: the media 0:28 their lolwyer says they have 45,000 scilons in france LOL They don't have that many active in the US and I doubt they have it in the world.
Re: French trial: the media I'm seeing about 20 Orgs listed for France - 2,000+ in every single building? I don't think so...
Re: French trial: the media Obviously they don't have as nearly as many as they claim, but if their true numbers are low then how do they accumulate so much wealth?
Re: French trial: the media OUR GLORIOUS LEADER SPEAKS Perez Hilton: The French Are Taking $cientology Down! Perez you are a TOWERING GOD
Re: French trial: the media ^^^^ Put that in your pipe and smoke it Tom Newton aka Alan Conner. I'd love to see how you spin this one with your faggotry. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/30930420/ "For each person who complains we have 100,000 ready to say nothing but good things about scientology," Agnes Bron, an official of the French organization, said before the trial, which is expected to last until June 17. FFS Who are these 100,000 imaginary people???????? Fucking cult lies like a rug.
Re: French trial: the media I just ran into the CNN article on my own. Fapfapfapfap. Edit: Any way for us to get this featured in the "top stories" list?
Re: French trial: the media June 17 is what i'm reading. expect shady schilon shenanigans before then....
Re: French trial: the media How much wealth do you think they have ? I agree it is considerable but lets take a country like England with 1,700 scn. And lets say for argument that they ALL got to Clear (unlikely) at the tune of $100K (low end) that is something like $1.7B ? Then on top of that throw in some free slave labor to set off operation expenses. Add in donations for things that are not courses, E-meters, Books etc... and that is for less than 2,000 scilons. Not to mention the front groups and their donations from unsuspecting rubes, and all the scilons who have "dropped their meat body" and left their money to the "church", and exes who didn't get a refund over the last 59 years. * Before anyone checks my math I think it is $170M not $1.7B

Re: French trial: the media So lots of media saying its going on...has anything said what actually happened on day 1? To be honest this case seems weak as hell. "I was forced to buy courses by someone that is now dead!" BUT, before you flame, I totally hope they get the french banhammer. Cult has gotten out of stickier legal situations though.
