How fucking peabrained/elitist! I've read this thread and have begun to accumulate experience reading WWP. The culture here is exactly what one would expect from engineers. Engineers are great, and I am one, but generally, they don't know a fucking thing about marketing. They despise marketing people. Although that is partially justified, it blinds the engineer to some important truths that are common sense for the marketing person. Lesson #1: The customer is always right. You guys have a great thing going. If you put on a Marketing Hat once in a while, and look at WWP while wearing that hat, you will see it in a new light. Once upon a time, someone opened up a Mexican restaurant. Business was slow, but there was a continuous stream of people wandering in and asking where they could get Greek food. Eventually, the operator redecorated his restaurant, installed new signs, and made a shitload of money. He didn't care whether he served Mexican or Greek food. He just wanted to be in the restaurant business. Moral: WWP operators need to "know thyself". What is it that is at the core of what you want to do with WWP? Don't change that. But be willing to change everything else according to what people want to find when they come to WWP.
