    How to Disable/Screw up e-meters

I a busy working on ideas how to screw or disable e-meters since they are glorified Ohm meters.
So any contributions are greatly appreciated:D

A microfine piece of wire running from one hand to another would be lulzy! Not sure if it would damage the meter, but you sure as hell would have a 'floating needle'. They might think you were Elwrong reincarnated!

Re: How to Disable/Screw up e-meters

touching the cans together makes the meter "rock slam" according to hubbard. all thats happening is the circuit is being closed. if you ran a small barely visible wire from one hand to the other that laid in your lap then you could control this event at will without looking like your touching the cans together. this would look bizarre to the scilon.

working on other ideas but the way i beat the meter was to jam my toe really hard into my shoe then let up the pressure as i was asked questions when i wanted my "needle to float".

HAHA we were typing this at the same time!!!

I have a meter here so if you want to verify if something works i will test it here as well.

You might also try hooking a few batteries together in your pocket, positive to one hand (really fine wire) and negative to the other. I would keep the voltage low in order to not be hurt, but
if you have ever seen what happens when you try to measure VOLTAGE with an OHM meter you will understand (mucho smoke). I would stay below say 24 volts or so myself. Don't make continous contact with the 'cans' as you might weld your wires to them!

Just a suggestion, no one was hurt or audited in the writing of this post.

Re: How to Disable/Screw up e-meters

This would be easy to hide (good idea) keep in mind that the meter is putting out a volt or two already as its measuring resistance.

The armature of the meter movement should be succeptible to fluctuating or moving magnetic fields. Something as simple as a small, powerful permanent magnet on an inch of string hung under a stress test table (so it wobbles) might do the trick -- assuming the table isn't steel.

Do that early in the day, so it works all day long LOL

Re: How to Disable/Screw up e-meters

I understand people are going to do what they want and I cannot tell people what to do.

However, if you intentionally break their e-meter, be willing to accept the consequences. That basically amounts to vandalism. If the property that was damaged is worth under $400, it is a misdemeanor. If the property is worth over $400, it becomes a FELONY. I don't know how much the e-meter costs, but I know it sells for well over $500.

    From the California Penal code:
Please think before you do something like this. You will only be leaving yourself at risk for criminal prosecution, payment of restitution, and fines. Also, you will give the cult yet another thing to latch onto to use against the Anonymous movement as propaganda.

Re: How to Disable/Screw up e-meters

how powerful would the magnet have to be? could it just be taped to the bottom of the table? or does it need to "fluctuate" swing back and forth. could you set a magnet on the table just under the meter as well?

I will also see if putting a magnet in the can does anything BRB.

Im looking for a way to do this without doing damage. this will be tested on the 3 emeters i have here. there is no way i will damage anyones property for lulz. but i do want to screw with them as much as possible.

Im not the op but think this is a good idea.

Re: How to Disable/Screw up e-meters

Ok....so you are talking about defeating it and having them wonder why their e-meter isn't working right? That's cool.

I wanted to make sure someone doesn't go too far without knowing the consequences.

Re: How to Disable/Screw up e-meters

Wouldn't it be epic if the scifags throw some of their e-meters away thinking they were broken. : D

Re: How to Disable/Screw up e-meters

I don't know. You'll have to do the trial-and-error thing IMO. I do believe, however, that the magnet will need to wobble a bit to induce stray voltage through the coil of the meter movement -- but just spoiling the field of the meter's own permanent magnets may have lulzy effects as well.

Re: How to Disable/Screw up e-meters

No, I am neither. I just don't want any more "pubic avenger" types giving the cult more propaganda material. I was hoping to save someone from getting into trouble just for a prank.

nothing more to see here, move on....

Re: How to Disable/Screw up e-meters

9 V battery would do the trick.

Or, even better, a charged 0.5 Farad cap, will definitely destroy the fee-meter.

Re: How to Disable/Screw up e-meters

Wear 2 rings one on each hand. Connect them with very fine wire hidden up long sleeves. This will peg the needle. If hooked to batteries it could damage the machine. If you want the needle to float you could hook up your own potentiometer to it so that you could make your own adjustments. You would have to figure out how to make the adjustments without being detected.

Re: How to Disable/Screw up e-meters

Best way to screw up an e-meter?

Stand on opposite side of road from stress test, wearing V mask, shouting "cult" whilst pointing at them, and playing "Never gonna give you up" very loudly.

Re: How to Disable/Screw up e-meters

Touching the two cans (electrodes) together is reputed to damage the internal workings. Anyone who has an emeter has been well advised not to let the electrodes remain together for any length of time, least their meters be damaged.

If you're enquiring about how to "fool" the meter or cause bizarre motions of the needle, the following might help.

Almost any body motion that causes static in the body will cause a meter to do things.

Breathing deeply (can be done quietly without appearing to do so)
Coughing or Sneezing (too easy for the meter operator to see)
Motion of the body (stretch something, like your toes, leg muscles, bicep, etc.)

All of these actions will cause the meter to "read" (needle go to the right). There will be a delay between your body action and the needle movement; it won't be immediate.

    Have fun with this.

  23. Re: How to Disable/Screw up e-meters

So, what looks good for an Anonymous Touch of Death on E-meters?

Also, what about less complicated ways to just be annoying? Like greasy hands or something "innocent" that can render an e-meter useless for a bit while it's cleaned. Something long lasting though. Thinking along the lines of, well, not glue, too obvious, but something that takes time to clean.

Re: How to Disable/Screw up e-meters

this could work from a distance.

also, your skin conducts. If you used the afore mentioned battery and taped the wires to your wrists you would get the same (lessened) effect.

and don't forget: breaking other people's stuff can get you in trouble.

ok im no electro-fag but it stands to reason you could use low voltage dc power attached to your body to fuck up the reading

Ok, I have a really good way.

    1) Pick up emeter
    2) smash over scilon's head and hopefully knock some sense into them.

here's a way that was posted on OCMB a few years ago that you could try out...

See fcc part 15.....And remember...This is not a medical device !!!!!!! Have fun.......

Re: How to Disable/Screw up e-meters

Also, any type of radio transmitter with output over 30 Watts in close proximity will play havoc, possibly damaging it. I've not seen any sheilding on any pics I've seen.

And since it would be a Part 15 Device, it needs to accept any interference from any licensed transmitter.

Re: How to Disable/Screw up e-meters

Well it might not even take that much....GMRS radio (2 watts )with a yagi(As big as ya want)...In the GMRS radio the Fcc limits your power,BUT NOT THE SIZE OF THE ANTENNA !!!So if you showed up to a stress test with a 16 foot 20 element yagi antenna you are in every right to do so....

Have fun carrying that son of a bitch. My 5ft direction 2M yagi is a fucking pain top carry from my car to a field for Earth-Moon-Earth shit.

Re: How to Disable/Screw up e-meters

I'm not all that knowledgeable on e-meters, I'm afraid... however, that mention of motion in the body to cause static?

What if it was something like this? A pair of my work pants are lined with a secondary fabric that causes a massive static charge with the outside material- as a result, I find myself getting shocked on everything when I wear them.

Would simply wearing something that prone to static cause an issue?

Re: How to Disable/Screw up e-meters

    Here's some bad ideas:

You could always "accidentally" spill water on it, or learn how to build a cheap HERF gun and even a low voltage "pen taser" can ruin an e-meter.

    Please don't use them.

Anonymous does not condone such tactics.

Re: How to Disable/Screw up e-meters

You EME guys are not right in the head.....Take it to a stress test and have fun....I sold most of my VHF/UHF stuff years ago.....I stay on HF.....But it should work....e-meters are shit...Saw one on YouTube...

Re: How to Disable/Screw up e-meters

I wonder if the scilons would give a stress test to a robot while the robot gives them a gullibility test from the emeter in it's chest......

    The answer comes soon...

Re: How to Disable/Screw up e-meters

Wait!!!! what is close proximity??? will this work within 100 feet? if so then they would be unable to audit while this thing was around. can these things be remotely interfered with???

OMG if it could. it would open an entire new front on this war.
