    How to YouTubeulate correctly?

Hey guys, I've been trying to upload a video of mine to YouTube, but i did some editing on it so it's over the file size limit, its 1.44 GB. any suggestion as to either a compression program and/or a better site that would let me upload it?

    thanks

windows movie maker does an ok job if your looking for something you dont have to install. drag it into the maker then add it to the timeline then "save file as" then choose the compression/quality. this will dramatically shrink the video so make sure you choose a size thats close to the limit of youtube. make sure you check the video first as it may not encode to your standards and need a different compression.

inb4 theres a better way to do it (i know but this is pretty simple)

nice sig - i love tool!!

Try to split the video in 2 parts and post both on youtube

i thought about it but it wouldn't really go well, it's a mash up of sorts so splitting it wouldn't look good.

You can go here: media-convert.com, up load your video. Then experiment with different file types till you find the one that suits your needs. (and yes, they have WMV in the list).

Use avidemux and compress it to flash. You will have to resample audio to mp3 44100

Avidemux is just incredibly fast for such thing, give it a try

1.44gb? Jesus man, what are you trying to upload - War & Peace?! :)

What are the spcs of your vid (screen size, length, video bit rate)?

    Re: How to YouTubeulate correctly?

    lol. that is quite huge.

I was gonna suggest a program like xilisoft video converter. Burn what you've got on a DVD then convert. It's got options for file size and shit. like 700mb 1cd or even smaller I think.

might be an easier way but I'm not pro at the video :(

edit: torrent is on www.thepiratebay.org somewhere

    Re: How to YouTubeulate correctly?

If its longer than 10 minutes its not gonna work on youtube unless you have a premium account.

    Re: How to YouTubeulate correctly?

If thats the case you could have used google video, but I think they closed video uploading. I guess then you can go vimeo.com

its so big because i edited it on final cut at my school, and i'm uploading on google video ATM, and yes it says it will be closing uploading sometime soon.

and its not longer than 6 minutes, btw.
