Well, from that point of view, any spiritual practice will fit that description, because by definition spiritual practices believe in things that are not provable with universal empirical evidence that is physically accessible to all and reproducible.

The Buddha was a spiritual leader, Jesus, even Plato can be considered of the sort. I wouldn't consider them authoritarian though.
