    Irma Caban !!!

Lookup Caban on GoogleMaps (locations in Puerto Rico and Florida!) and you know: It's all Co$ and Davey's fault.
There are even Caban locations in the CW/Tampa area - I'd be not surprised, if they start landing operations directly out Irma's eye down to Fort Harrison Hotel.

Limbaugh will claim that deranged leftists began making threats against him for simply pointing out the secondary financial motivations of news media. Leftists, being scarier than Category 4 hurricanes, forced the Limbaugh family to flee their home.

Hurricane Irma Live Stream: Watch the Storm on Florida Web Cams Online

    Quote:

Hurricane Irma is slowly nearing the U.S. coast, after leaving devastation in its wake. Most models now predict the storm will hit Florida, and it may be a devastating Category 4 when it makes landfall. Parts of Florida, including the Florida Keys, will begin experiencing hurricane conditions by Saturday night or Sunday morning.

Many businesses and people in the path of the storm are setting up webcams throughout the state to help others see exactly what’s happening. We are sharing these in advance of the storm’s arrival, predicted to happen Saturday or Sunday, so you can watch the changes that happen in the weather as the storm nears.

Miami is using the Baker Act to clear the homeless off the street and into shelter.

Miami's homeless held against their will ahead of Hurricane Irma

i.e. You'd have to be crazy not to take shelter, so if you don't, we'll hold you for 72 hours observation.

It's a damned big hammer to use on the problem, but it's probably better than pulling the bodies off the storm drains after the hurricane. Still, I hope it doesn't become a habit. CCHR will probably asplode over this one.

Here's today's press release from the cult. Quote:

Church of Scientology Ready to Help Miami When Irma Strikes

Located at 2220 South Dixie Highway, the Church of Scientology Miami will stay open with a few dozen experienced Scientology Volunteer Ministers when Hurricane Irma makes landfall.

“After we put out a media advisory yesterday on how to prepare for a hurricane, some 200 neighbors called in and have stored their cars in the Church parking structure,” says Diana Pedroni, Public Affairs Director for the Church.

International Scientology Volunteer Ministers headquarters in Los Angeles, with a grant from the International Association of Scientologists, has sent the famous Mexican Los Topos search and rescue specialists to Miami. They have been helping rebuild Rockport, Texas since Hurricane Harvey search and rescue ended.

“We are here and we are at the service of the community,” says Ms. Pedroni. “We have emergency supplies and equipment. Our doors are open to the community. We will work with anyone who needs help during these difficult times.”

Church staff are available to answer any questions about preparing for Irma. Call (305) 345-7812 or email...

The Scientology Volunteer Ministers program is a religious social service created by Scientology Founder L. Ron Hubbard in the mid-1970s. Their mottos is “Something can be done about it.”

Looks like the OT Powerz of the Vulture Ministers have failed them. The hurricane will not make landfall in Miami, but rather in SW Florida, a couple hundred miles away.
Whoops. They must be PTS to the middle class.

'This is your last chance': Hurricane Irma puts a bull's-eye on Tampa area | Associated Press

The National Hurricane Center's latest tweak to Irma's forecasted track has the storm hugging the Florida's west coast off Fort Myers, but possibly not making landfall there before moving back to the Gulf of Mexico. By moving the likely track a few crucial miles west, the storm would be able to regain strength over water before its deadliest winds hit St. Petersburg and Clearwater, rather than the more populated Tampa.

Irma unloads tornadoes on U.S. as 170,000 buildings lose power | New York Daily News

The National Hurricane Center’s latest storm track showed Irma hugging Florida’s west coast as it marched north. The new projected path meant the storm would likely intensify over the Gulf of Mexico before striking St. Petersburg followed by Clearwater.

Here's another cult press release. Quote:

Scientology: Safest Buildings in Clearwater, Opened to the Community for Hurricane Irma

With Hurricane Irma barreling up the west coast of Florida, the Church of Scientology has opened its facilities to anyone needing a secure place to stay.

The Fort Harrison and the Oak Cove Religious Retreats in Clearwater, Florida, opened their doors today to local residents needing a safe place to stay as Hurricane Irma slams into Florida.

“There are people in cots in the Fort Harrison auditorium,” says a Scientology Volunteer Minister who drove in from Texas after weeks on Hurricane Harvey disaster relief. “I’m staying on a cot in the gym at the Oak Cove. Pretty comfortable.”

Florida Governor Rick Scott has warned that the entire west coast of Florida will probably experience dangerous storm surge. Some 6.3 million Florida residents—just under a third of the state—have been asked to evacuate.

Scientologists in Clearwater spent the day helping businesses board up their windows and getting themselves prepared for the storm. Several hundred Scientology Volunteer Ministers are on call for anyone in the community in need of help. Volunteer headquarters is the Scientology Volunteer Ministers center on Fort Harrison in downtown Clearwater.

“We’ve put together hundreds of hygiene kits for people who have moved into temporary shelters,” says Church of Scientology spokesperson Rev. Pat Harney. “We have been coordinating with Florida VOAD (Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster), state and federal emergency management personnel, the Clearwater police and the Pinellas Sheriff’s Department.”

Scientology Volunteer Ministers (VMs) will be available to assist police and firefighters and their families. “During times of disaster, these first responders are the people who are saving lives and we try to look after them so they don’t have to be worried or distracted,” says Rev. Harney.

VMs have been helping at several shelters set up in the Tampa Bay Area including Pasco Elementary School, where they unloaded three palettes of food and water, Gibbs High School and John Hopkins Middle School in St. Petersburg.

Friday Rush Limbaugh said that "the media" were over-hyping the danger of hurricane Irma due to the symbiotic relationship between media and retail advertisers. People rush out and buy bottled water and stuff when there's an emergency and that's good for business. Then Limbaugh himself evacuated yesterday, less than 24 hours after his foolish advice that people not take the hurricane too seriously. He took a lot of heat for his 180 inspiring others to his defense.

Come to think of it, people who GTFO probably don't buy generators and two weeks of household necessities. So maybe over-hyping hurricanes has a negative effect on retailers. But I digress.

Friday I did see the occasional "fake news" on Irma reports. But most of those appeared ironic. Today people are actually saying Irma is fake news... on live filming of Irma's effects in Miami. Live filming. Live. People saying "fake" to that. Jesus Christ.

A couple "fake news" comments might pass as ironic. But a whole flood of them on every CNN live reports does not convey irony. It demonstrates a motivated campaign to fight. But who in their right mind fights multiple independent live recordings of something happening affecting millions of people?

Some commenters appear to have a poor command of English. Gratuitous mention of Russia and Hillary noted.

"Scientologists in Clearwater spent the day helping businesses board up their windows and getting themselves prepared for the storm"
Ya, right. They boarded up the windows of their own businesses.

"Several hundred Scientology Volunteer Ministers are on call for anyone in the community in need of help."
And that's a grossly inflated number of Vulture Ministers who are only available for an opportune photo-op/puff piece.

Hygiene kit = Bar of soap in a sandwich bag purchased by pressuring public to give money
Pat Harney has been taking spin PR lessons from Dan Sherman.

Scientology Volunteer Ministers (VMs) will be available to assist police and firefighters and their families. “During times of disaster, these first responders are the people who are saving lives and we try to look after them so they don’t have to be worried or distracted,” says Rev. Harney."
Unlike employees of the scientology criminal enterprise, police and firefighters are taken care of by their departments as part of their benefit package. They don't need to be distracted or worried by scienazi "help" schemes.

Short vid explaining that storm surge, or a slow wave of elevated sea, is the most damaging part of a hurricane. If the water has no place to go it sits there and stanks the place up.

When there's an evacuation a lot of people stay for various reasons (e.g., some police, fire, hospital, utility employees). Reporters do a service by letting everyone know the conditions on the ground. They have to use their own judgment regarding their personal safety.

Irma landed at Ft Myers as a Category 2, so maybe the thread title should change.

Due to popular demand, we have another press release from the cult. Quote:

Scientology in Clearwater: Riding Out Hurricane Irma

While Flag has been providing spiritual counseling and training to parishioners who travel to Clearwater from around the globe, every possible space in the Fort Harrison and Oak Cove Religious Retreats have been filled with local Scientologists and neighbors in need of a safe place to stay while Irma passes through.

“The auditorium at the Fort Harrison. Every inch is full,” posted one Scientologist who is riding out the storm there. “Movies, games for kids […] we are one gigantic happy family […] The noise level is like NYC Times Square on New Year’s.”

There are also Scientology Volunteer Minister seminars to help people prepare for the work that will be needed after the storm passes through the Tampa Bay area. International Volunteer Ministers headquarters in Los Angeles arranged to reroute Los Topos Azteca, the famous Mexican first responders, to Clearwater. They were working with the Scientology Volunteer Minister Disaster Response Team in Rockport, Texas, after Hurricane Harvey. Los Topos, which specializes in finding and saving survivors after major disasters, provided training on basic search and rescue skills and an emergency medical technician conducted a seminar on CPR — skills that may be needed after Irma moves through the region.

To help accommodate those staying at the retreats, trained chefs have stepped up to help in Flag’s award-winning kitchens.

As Hurricane Irma began moving toward Clearwater, teams of staff and Scientology Volunteer Ministers boarded up the windows of nearby businesses.

If I were a Clearwater resident I'd worry about the COS using my contact info, drivers' license number (presumably needed to prove local residency), and whatever photos/observations of me they collect, to start a folder. Maybe I'd land in the "raw meat" pile. Maybe the "SP" pile. Either way, creepy.

What it's like to fly into a Category 5 hurricane | VICE News

Even with all the technology at the U.S. government’s disposal, the best way to gather data from a hurricane is still the hard way: flying into the storm in a propeller plane.

That’s exactly what the men and women of 53rd Weather Reconnaissance Squadron do. Better known as the “Hurricane Hunters,” this all-reserve Air Force unit is tasked with piloting their WC-130J aircraft directly into the eye of a hurricane.

VICE News secured a ride with the Hurricane Hunters as they flew into the eye of Hurricane Irma, the most powerful hurricane ever recorded in the Atlantic. The Hurricane Hunters don’t fly into storms for fun. During their flight an array of instruments collect and transmit data used to predict how active storms will develop, and move.

Downtown Clearwater businesses get extra layer of storm protection from Church of Scientology

    Tracey McManus, Times Staff Writer
    Monday, September 11, 2017 6:25pm

CLEARWATER — Alessio Zavaglia stopped by his Cleveland Street Cafe late Saturday night to do one last walk-through before Hurricane Irma's landfall.
As he approached his building, there were strangers with gloves and hammers boarding up his storefront's glass windows.
He wasn't expecting it, but the Church of Scientology had come to secure his business before the expected Category 4 winds. And within 12 hours, Scientology volunteers boarded every other storefront in the downtown district too.
"No one asked them to do this," said Zavaglia, who said he couldn't find any plywood Saturday to do it himself. "This is good for the city."
Scientology spokesman Ben Shaw said church volunteers spent 1,500 staff hours over a 12-hour period securing 60 downtown businesses with 700 sheets of plywood.
"When Irma changed direction on Saturday, we became very concerned about downtown and that property owners would have little time to prepare," Shaw said. "Luckily, we had placed orders for all the plywood we could get and, just in time, a huge shipment arrived from Georgia. With that, we were able to board up every one of the downtown businesses."
Shaw said volunteers also supplied food and hygiene products to various shelters.
Kathy Panagoulias, who owns storefront on the 500 block of Cleveland Street, said a church member called her for permission to board her building after she had evacuated to Orlando with family.
    "It was wonderful," she said.
Volunteers also deployed downtown early Monday with garbage bags and gloves and cleared tree limbs and debris from the streets and removed the plywood from windows.
Mayor George Cretekos said he wasn't warned the church intended to board the businesses, but he suspected Scientology was involved when he drove through downtown Sunday morning before Irma hit and saw the symmetrical handiwork of the plywood on storefronts.
"I commend them for it," Cretekos said. "I also applaud all those who are first responders and our staff and their families."
Tony Starova said he got a call Thursday from the Church of Scientology, asking if he needed any help preparing his downtown pizza shop for Hurricane Irma.
At that point, Starova said he wasn't worried about Irma's path and had no intention to board up his glass storefront on Cleveland Street. He just asked if the church had any spare sandbags.
Starova evacuated to New Orleans Friday with his family when Irma's path shifted towards Tampa Bay and called a neighbor Saturday to check on downtown.
"I called and he told me every business had been boarded up," Starova said. "The church of Scientology did it. It's being very good neighbor. Good stewards."
