    Dear friends,

You are hereby invited to the 16th Annual FreeZone Convention and the 1st Theta Alliance Summit for Independent Scientologists. We’ve had a wonderful time and great success over the years putting on the FreeZone Convention since 2001. This year, however, we decided it was time to re-brand for the future and create a greater 3rd dynamic group going forward. We’re very excited to announce that beginning this year and continuing into the future, the convention will be known as the Theta Alliance Summit.

The Theta Alliance is a branch of FreeZone Worldwide dedicated to putting on the yearly summit and other events for the purpose of networking with Independent Scientologists and groups, with the ultimate goal of preserving and expanding the Tech. As always, all are welcome to attend or speak at the summit, and there is no obligation to join any kind of group in order to attend. We especially want to encourage representatives of independent groups out there to come and be heard. We’ll be discussing this change in greater detail at the summit, but in the meantime, please browse our site for more information or go to “Buy Pass” to purchase admission to this year’s summit.

We’re looking forward to seeing many of you at this year’s event and we’ll have some great speakers as well as a showing of an episode of Believer, a new show that featured myself and several other independents being interviewed about independent Scientology outside the Church. My hope is that this will provide a new, more positive perspective that is lacking representation in the media about Scientology and the Tech, and perhaps open some minds. The episode will debut on CNN on Sunday, March 26, 2017 at 10 PM EST (see for more info). We’ll send out more details as it gets closer to airing.

If you’d like to speak at this year’s Summit or have any questions, please contact us.

    Rey Robles
In Charge of the Theta Alliance

I’m guessing the convention will be about as successful as the People’s Front of Judea re-titling their event to “The Annual Anti-Roman Summit” to make room for the Judean People’s Front to attend without getting huffy.

My prediction: Last year’s Freezone convention attracted something like 32 people. This year, with the addition of throngs of people from Milestone Two, iScientology, whatever Terril Park is into (if he’s even been spotted in the wild lately), and unaffiliated indies, they will get 28.

Protip for Rey: when you’re thinking of holding an event whose intended audience is global, don’t hold it in a second-tier hotel in Reno, which happens to be the city where you live. Hold it in a city people actually want to visit. (Note to Reno lovers: yes, it’s a very nice livable small city, but how many people from Australia or Luxembourg save their money for a trip to the US and make visiting Reno a priority, unless they’re landing at the airport and heading immediately up to Tahoe?)

Incidentally, Rey reveals that he’s been interviewed for the CNN series “Believer,” in a segment that will air on March 26. He hopes “that this will provide a new, more positive perspective that is lacking representation in the media about Scientology and the Tech, and perhaps open some minds.” I’m thinking Rey will find himself severely “keyed in” after the broadcast.

I agree, "The Anti-Roman Summit" is a terrible name for a conference. But they might attract more interest (and BOOMING expansion) if they shortened it to: "The A.R.S"
