I've spoken with the mother. I have heard evidence from other people who were not so fortunate to have gone to the police about this pig. This is not this guy's first victim. I do NOT believe in the death penalty for these monsters. I think they should spend the rest of their miserable lives behind bars in maximum security. Keep them away from children. Let them live and live and live in prison until the end. Yup. No death penalty for them.

Why? I saw a documentary on pedophiles who were getting therapy in prison before their release. They showed individual therapy sessions, the group sessions, and they interviewed the convicted pedophiles. One pedophile started crying. He basically said that no amount of therapy was going to help him because he was sexually attracted to children. He couldn't help it. He didn't want to be attracted to children, but he could not help himself. He was worried about getting out and ruining another child's life, but he had served his time and he was going to be released. He knew he was going to molest another child.

No amount of therapy can make a gay person straight.
I have no idea what your sexual preference is, but I can tell you that I am straight. No amount of therapy could make me gay or make me bi-sexual or make me a pedophile.

Yes there are many pedophiles who were molested themselves. I'm sorry they were molested. This does not mean that I want to give them a free pass to molest again. The vicious cycle must end.

Back in the day I supervised pedophiles on the job. I thought treatment worked. I was wrong, they do what they have to do, and say what they have to say until they are free. The only way they stay safe is when there are monitors, and I mean lots and lots of monitors- home life, job, school, church. They are unable to live a life free of children.

Bleeding Heart? Prison is horrible. A whole lifetime of prison must be absolute hell. It costs more to defend someone on death row than it is to let them rot in prison. I would prefer to save money and make sure that a pedophile spends endless days thinking about what he's done and knowing that it's never going to happen again.

Your bravado is admirable, but you just never can tell what a jury will decide if you're let go or end up in prison for doing away with someone who molested your child. I met a man in prison once who was serving a life sentence for premeditated murder because he killed the man who molested his infant. INFANT. The prosecutor went after this guy who had never even had a parking ticket and he ended up doing life in a fucking hell hole of a prison. He was the quietest, kindest guy. He had been a trustee for years, but he was still IN prison and was never getting out.

BTW, the mom needs to let the prison warden know of her concerns about this guy getting out. That helps against the guy sometimes, he's under a microscope and the prison is more likely to slap him for small actions otherwise ignored.

I had the misfortune of doing the hubbard ethics specialist course back in the 1980's. It is/was 100% fabrication and justification for whatever hubbard wanted to get away with. If you read my post you'll see the bit where I said that the ones who don't respond to treatment need to be permanently excluded from society and that everyone who sexually abuses a child still needs to be punished for the crime, whether they were a victim themselves or not. Believe me I'm no bleeding heart because I'm for a lengthy first sentence and then life if there's a repeat.

I agree a hardwired sexual preference can't be changed by therapy, but I never said all paedos can be cured.

If you damage a child you also can hurt the adult they become. Most only harm themselves and end up in therapy, after engaging in destructive relationships and behaviour, which is where the abuse first comes to light.

A few, and there's heavy emphasis on the word few, perpetrate the cycle of abuse. Leading them to snap out of their fantasy world and understand the pain they have caused really is not the soft option. Even then they need to be monitored and never allowed to be in a position of trust around children because it simply isn't worth the risk.

@612, The first part of my post was speaking generally. I don't know if Strawn has been psychologically evaluated, but if he hasn't and is opposing probation to avoid therapeutic treatment, it's not sounding good. My sympathies are firmly with the people who were strong enough to speak out and have him jailed in the first place.
