'Innocence of Muslims' outrage?

So you agree that it's spreading. I didn't put a timescale on it.

With a religion such as Islam, which has no sense of humour and demands beheadings because of silly cartoons, wants the eradication of other religions/races and demands complete control of its followers, why would you think it would be a set up job? Muslim/Islam countries are only too willing to kick off at the slightest thing. Time will tell.

Yeah, well, it's awesomely convenient to blame "the Muslims" as a whole.

Yes, it must be as you say, that Muslim countries in toto are only too willing to "kick off", using your verbiage, at the slightest thing. Meanwhile, we note that Americans, despite their vaunted civil liberties being taken away, don't "kick off" at anything at all. That is called APATHY, btw.

Meanwhile, be assured that the world population blame "the Americans" for a lot of stuff which the US Government actually and demonstrably does. As nice as individual Americans may be, the majority of you cheefully pay for whatever the USG does in your name, thereby making you accessories before the fact.

To quote Al Jourgensen, "Connect the Goddamn' dots!"

So dumb. Pat Condell's youtube rant on the subject was good.
  8. Anonymous Member

Just as there is no monolithic group called "the muslims" there is no monolithic group called "the americans".

I think most of the thoughtful criticisms of Islam ITT are not aimed at "the muslims" but at people who interpret Islamic ideology as a license to act out violently against innocent people in response to insults. Such people constitute a tiny minority of people who call themselves muslims, being tens of thousands out of a billion.

and, unfortunately they look for any excuse to ignorantly rile up the rage at america/the west.
Salman Rushdie even said, on CNN, to paraphrase.... there are lots of stupid and offensive videos on you tube. there are. you just shut it off and watch something else.

    A word to rioting Muslims

Ah, Salman Rushdie, there's an unbiased source.

However, I agree with you, that it's only a small group, on both sides...

Apparently, Muslims at large are wholly unable to manage the actions of this hardcore few, just as Americans are unable to manage the actions of the warmongers among them.

Maybe what's needed is instead of all the proxy wars, the two offended/offending parties should wage war directly upon each other, without involving the remainder of the world, with its billions of innocents. Amirite?

I am sure the Muslims in question will react appropriately to such a challenge, and deal as they see fit.

If they really took down the World Trade Center towers (well, excepting for Building 7, of course), then any building erected in its stead will likely be at similar risk.

I have no dog in this fight, and so can be objective here. If America and the Muslim world mutually annihilate each other, it will be sad, but not too.

If you mean to let the warmongers on each side fight each other so that the rest of us can have peace then I agree.
  17. Anonymous Member

This was my point. Why drag so many unrelated others into their donnybrook?
  18. Anonymous Member

Pat Condell makes some good points, but his views are very one sided and a somewhat black and white. Reminds me a bit of Rush Limbaugh in that respect.

I like Pat because he has balls. He says exactly what he thinks, with precision and eloquence. He is a smart man, and in case you may not have known, he was actually a comedian or comedy writer in Loldon for years. Like he started out writing comedy routines. Smart man.

Well, in essence, there would need to be TOLERANCE. Islam does not tolerate tolerance, and that is a challenge. At times it is the most highly respected and powerful religious leaders in the Muslim community telling his congregants to conduct themselves in a rage-ful way, condoning violence, and inhumane treatment of those who may be so bold as to dissent with the rules of an arbitrary theocracy. In a sense, it is still a culture in the middle ages.

Hey, Salman is an excellent source. He has written it, and then lived it, and then written it again. Love him!

Unfortunately, it is an absolutist "us versus them" mentality. Islam vs the world, and Islam wants to take over and have everyone do things their way. And yeah, that sucks *********** that in the year 2012 humanity can't strive to really get along and see the bigger picture which is very culturally diverse, and wants their own religious freedom of choice and expression in lifestyle, and can even be athiest or agnostic, or even gay, or even a woman wanting equal rights. In the west we tolerate diversity, we don't send out a mob quad religious mafia to beat the crap out of them into submission to their god, and their harsh rules.
  23. Anonymous Member

Demonstrably untrue. Now if you said "fundamentalist" or "radical" you would be closer to the facts.

Then again, isn't evangelical Christianity essentially the same worldview as you describe?
    I see little difference.
    • Agree Agree x 1
  24. Anonymous Member

No, Evangelical Christianity is not the same. Cutting right to the quick of it, the Christian god is more loving and tolerant than the "prophet" Mohammed.
As far as the distinction between "fundamentalist" versus the larger muslim community this could be true. However, unfortunately, that moderate voice is not as strong, and does not challenge the fundamentalism within their own sphere, in a neurtal and evolved, real way. I must say that I was relived to see on Facebook of all places, on person had several photos of folks in Lybia apologizing for the death of Christopher Stephens and saying that they are grateful to america. Unfortunately, it is a small enlightened minority, or at least it appears that way.

I'd strike "evangelical" and replace it with "fundamentalist." However, they want to take over using the electoral system, with only a tiny minority willing to engage in direct violence.

One thing I note: one place you did not see violent riots out of Muslims was in the United States itself. Why? We don't put up with that shit here, out of Muslims or anyone else. Start rioting, and you're going to get beat down, hard and fast. Frankly, that can happen sometimes with an entirely peaceful protest. In either case, any arguments about civil liberties will be after the fact.

Any countries that do put up with violent rioters pretty much deserve what they get.

Where the violent nuts screwed up here is that the original maker of this film, a convicted criminal immigrant in violation of his probation, apparently intended the violent results he got and broke the law in defrauding the actors he hired. He could lose all rights to distribute the film.

However, by throwing a worldwide series of riots, the nuts turned this into an historical event, and now, the film that spawned them all is an historical document and will be up on the Internet forever. A piece of utter garbage, it nevertheless now has an importance it would never have had without their insanity and animalistic behavior.

What about his support for UKIP, smart too?

1st of all, the muslims worship Allah and mohammed is just that, a prophet. So you can't compare the ''christian god'' with the ''prophet mohamed''.

    2nd HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Here are some quotes of your supposedly loving and tolerant bible.

"If a man is caught in the act of raping a young woman who is not engaged, he must pay fifty pieces of silver to her father. Then he must marry the young woman because he violated her, and he will never be allowed to divorce her." Deuteronomy 22:28-29

"Make ready to slaughter his sons for the guilt of their fathers; Lest they rise and possess the earth, and fill the breadth of the world with tyrants." (Isaiah 14:21 NAB)

"Go up, my warriors, against the land of Merathaim and against the people of Pekod. Yes, march against Babylon, the land of rebels, a land that I will judge! Pursue, kill, and completely destroy them, as I have commanded you," says the LORD. "Let the battle cry be heard in the land, a shout of great destruction". (Jeremiah 50:21-22 NLT)

Meanwhile, the LORD instructed one of the group of prophets to say to another man, "Strike me!" But the man refused to strike the prophet. Then the prophet told him, "Because you have not obeyed the voice of the LORD, a lion will kill you as soon as you leave me." And sure enough, when he had gone, a lion attacked and killed him. (1 Kings 20:35-36 NLT)

"When a man strikes his male or female slave with a rod so hard that the slave dies under his hand, he shall be punished. If, however, the slave survives for a day or two, he is not to be punished, since the slave is his own property." Exodus 21:20-21 NAB

There is a lot more but seriously, you are either hopefully trolling or completely retarded.

How do you get from the following sentence

Two religious groups will hang ads urging tolerance alongside anti-jihad advertisements in New York City subways that equate Muslim radicals with savages.

to the media trying to promote

    "Palestinians = 'savages'"
