INTERNATIONAL MEGARAID EVENT: Boston, MA - May 2010 Boston is pleased to announce that we are prepared to hold the next EAST COAST MEGARAID in May of 2010. More specifics will be forthcoming as we discuss schedules with Anons and Ex-Scis from far and wide. Halifax, NYC, New Haven, and DC and select anons from Seattle and Louisiana are already good to go, and folks from as far as Chicago and Ireland have expressed interest. Why Boston? It's been a while since the northeast had a big Anon event, and Patty's SP party got us all talking about it again. DC is still burned out from their experience last year, and NYC is just too expensive for many anons to make arrangements in. But there's more to Boston than being the default city. We're home to several SPs of note, including Larry Brennan and THE Gregg; we have a great relationship with the police, parks and transit departments; our Scientologists are adorable and scared of their own shadows; and we have plenty of nice parks to invade. We're also reasonably close to Halifax and have good ties to that group, so we can throw the kind of international party that Assaultee McGee deserves upon the completion of his court case. ITT: let us know what you'd like to see. Obviously, there will be parties and yelling at a building and cake, but we really wanna pull out the stops and make something special happen here, so go nuts with your suggestions. Let us know what things you can provide and what you would hope someone on this end can scrounge up. Things we know we could use: * someone with a sound system * crash space for broke anons * transportation assistance for broke anons Also mega important: What date works best for everyone? Are folks more interested in a one day event, a full weekend, or three days of motherfuckery? We can't bring the awesome if we get no feedback, so get to it.

I'mma gonna go tell Seattle that they are invited, cause I know there are some Seattle anons who will want in on this. I think an anon rave raid at night with glowy things and awesome music would be cool... but that's cause I liked the small on in SF so much.

Crash space and transportation once there would be nice. Just a spot to roll out a sleeping bag will be fine for the former, and the latter because my last excursion to Boston I got scared by the traffic.

Boston typically raids the third Saturday, so I guess unless someone pipes in with an alternate weekend that works better we'd probably do that?

Re: INTERNATIONAL MEGARAID EVENT: Boston, MA - May 2010 Plus, if there is enough interest, a one day party could be planned for a day connected to the raid at: Ellacoya State Park: The New Hampshire Division of Parks and Recreation which is located on Lake Winnipesaukee in New Hampshire, some 80 miles or so north of Boston: www.winnipesaukee.com It only costs about $4 to get in to the sandy beach park which is part of the lake and where there are barbecues for making food, etc. Plus, if we do this I have it from solid sources that the Flagship of the Northern Fleet of Anonymous Boston's Sea Aaargh will join us there for boat rides, tube riding (pulled at speed by the boat), etc: One brave Anon has so far "rode the tube" and lived to tell about it. For all you Anons taking the bird roads, fly Southwest airlines. You can get flights dirt cheap when you book in advance. I'm talking $75 flights. I'm not sure if Southwest flies right to Boston or if you'll have to take a commuter flight, but regardless, Southwest is the way to go if your trip is too long to make driving possible. May I suggest a reenactment of Philadelphia Anon's moving truck? But on a larger scale. Get like 2 or 3 trucks, whatever we need, pack them full of Anons, drive them up to the raid, and unload right in front of the org. The only issue is my finances so if I can solve that problem it's all good. If we can line up a date I will even try to arrange my class schedule to make sure I can make it. Another Idea for us faggots south of the Mason Dixon: Do any coastal Anons have a seaworthy vessel? Perhaps we could sail on up, pick up a few anons along the way. One if by land, two if by sea, and if both...fuck if both just an hero. One more. We send two anons on day one. Just two. They start raiding. Please PM me if you're planning on getting a hotel and want in on this. If there's no complaints by the end of the month, I'm gonna say we're good for the last weekend of May, it's winning by a small margin on our local boards and it's had at least one mention here.

When registration comes up I'll do my best to make sure I have a maximum amount of time free around that weekend. As for the hotel thing, that sounds good, if we can get enough people together for a group rate. Do we have an idea of what prices will be like? I want to start planning ASAP.

Both of us are raid virgins, and this thread gave me a pretty big boner. We could take a bus over, but as long as this is after the 15th, when college ends. Also if there is anyone coming from near us, we could use a ride. College students aren't notorious for having money. And bus tickets can get pricey.

I'm going to fly up, since if you book in advance you can get, like, $50 and $75 tickets. Probably a four or five hour flight from NC, no big deal. I'll load up my laptop with pirated anime (inb4 weeaboo) and tell them don't stop me now, I'm having such a good time. I'm having a ball. Don't stop me now. I'm still checking if we can get things cheaper on the weekend before that (21st-23rd) and of course hammering into this woman's head that private information STAYS. FUCKING. PRIVATE. But I got a good feeling about this. $50 per night is better than you're gonna get on your own, especially for something on public transit like this, so PM me if you're coming so I can get us a good head count. 10 rooms (20 people if everyone wants the $50 rate) minimum to make this happen.
