IRL Recruitment

Discussion in 'Think Tank' started by DarkSpecterAnon, May 4, 2011.

  1. It occurred to me that at the moment.. I have not seen huge methods for recruiting people. In most places, i think protesting the cult produces lulz that NORPs see and may get interested. But I was wondering if ANons had any experience in something a bit more active in Recruitment.

Basically the idea is thus; If Scilons have the Stress test table to try recruiting people, what can Anons use to try to recruit new members? Has this been done before? ANy Results? Or is this new treading ground? Please help, because Dallas does not get very much Public interaction.

  2. Shameless bump for help!!!

Have Anons ever done anything like Recruitment Raids, where you "raid" a college campus with caek, and info to get people looking things up? After all, if YFTC works at computer labs like that, maybe some friendly Anons and some caeks would generate new Anons.... Has anyone tried this before?

No, but I find the concept interesting to contemplate.

What first came to mind after I read the OP was printed fliers, handed out.
Cards left in Library Books directing to a web site or IRC channel.
The fliers tacked up on community bulletin boards, with www and/or IRC channel info.

Not yet certain of the feasibility of those three ideas, but I'll post more on the topic when I've had some sleep and then some fresh coffee.

    Interesting posting.
  4. Not exactly all that... Fliers and cards left in books is good when you are on your own, and want to drop dox and disappear.

I'm talking more about setting up a little table, with fliers, CAEK and music. Having signs, and talking to passerby's with your Guy Fawkes mask on. (You'd be doing it Anonymously) and trying to directly speak to these people to get them interested in Anonymous..... Hence the whole more active role in recruiting.

So Masks, Flags, Balloons, Caek, Music, fliers/cards, etc., an upbeat party atmosphere?

  7. something like that.... I was just wondering if there were any precedents to this sort of activity

Very good question. I don't know. We'll wait and see what overnight and the morning brings to the interesting thread.

What a great idea! Like a party! PARTY HARD!
  10. I guess the biggest piece of advice we would need is what sort of signs, activities, fliers should we design specifically targeted at getting in people who have never heard of Anonymous before?

I was thinking something along the lines of introducing the Tone scale, and listing off some of the behaviors College students are likely to exhibit being below 2.0. Then illustrating Hubbards thoughts on what Scientologists do to such 2.0's... i.e. If Scilons "cleared" the planet, your behaviors would have to be modified, or you would be cast out from society, or subjected to Auditing process R2-45.

I guess activities to do at the raid was kind of what I was hoping to find... but it seems I've hit something where Anonymous has never trodden.

  12. hmmm.... flyering kind of works... but I mean the idea is to be actively talking to people outside of raiding the ORG.... Flyers and such are good for staying Discreetly Anonymous. But for us in Dallas, I feel we have a stronger need, something more than just anonymously posting things irl.....

Okay, now I'm getting the picture tuned in more clearly.

You mean specific to $cientology, not promoting anonymous as an open category.

From my perspective such an idea kinda heads towards the course and seminar direction. This is okay but at first I didn't realize that the idea was to address the $cientology problem directly.
  14. Well... I guess that's still up for debate... I was just going with Scilon stuff just because I'm most prepared with it. I suppose you could discuss all of the initiatives at the same time, or raid for different ones. Thats why I'm on here to discuss it!

Yeah, it's all good ITT. I've had such a long day that my batteries are too low to pursue with much rigour. I'll be back later.
  16. Preciate it... Come back when you're recharged!!

I really like this idea. I would need to check with the local yokels first as it would suck to get this all planned out and then have to pack it up (like some Vancouver bosses just rolled up on us). You could display various anti-Scilon books and have a big lulzy e-meter mockup that looks like a retarded four year old made it.

Balloon poodles are easy and fun, just slap a sticker on with the above URL and go nuts.

  20. Exactly, a nrmal riad, except the focus is shifted a bit from "Annoying the Scilons and informing the public," to "Informing the public and building interest in WWP and Project Chanology.

This is sounding better and better, take the party to the youth seems like a tactic with loads of potential.
  22. inorite? How has Anonymous never done this before? I'm actually finding it hard to believe that no one has done this!!
  23. over9000OT Member

Hmmmm... I wonder how much a bulk purchase of GF masks would be. I bet you'd get some takers on free masks.

  24. Well I was hoping to get some ideas to have something when College get's back in school... so by then it will be closer to the 5th of November, so Discounts should be possible.

I did a little google-fu and really need to get back to work but that will be worth chasing down. Also, I found this:

    Way to be anonymous, amirite?

Well, in this kind of action there's always the possibility of Anonymous appearing to be your friend which some people inside might have a problem with. Maybe there's something to that concern, or maybe the proper response is just 'fukkit'.
  27. Anon998 Member

We actually were trying to plan a "Flyer Raid" quite a few months back in like, August I think, but it fell through because we never got a location picked out. Kinda sucked.
  28. CarterUSP Member

This is a good idea. I like it.
Doing a mock stress test, with a script for the sales patter in clear view would be great.

  29. Bump again for discussion....

How likely do you think it would be for us to get permission on different Colleges to raise awareness of what we do, whether it's Freedom of Information or Chanology?

I think Colleges would yield the greatest impact.. what do you think?
  30. Anon998 Member

a raid like this would be pretty awesome because of all the foot traffic. :p
  31. Yay My Dallas Fags are here!!! Totally need to do some planning of this, so when school is back in session we can raise a crop of newfags!!!
  32. Have been lurking since you brought up the topic a few days ago; I just didn't have anything worth posting.

    Which... I still don't. Crap.

    Um....

We'd probably need to rework the fliers a bit. More informative on how protesting works, if/how it helps, how to get involved in other ways?
  33. Anonymous Member

  34. Thank you for your insight.... oh wait you didn't have any..
  35. Anonymous Member

The . is: fuck it if some people inside think your idea doesn't represent a sufficiently badass image of Anonymous. I'm supporting you dumbass.
Nuance fail; not sure if yours or mine.
  36. Anonymous Member

I think he was referring to your lack of an actual post.
  37. More or less this... If the last Fukkit hadn't been a quote of the other Anon post... I might have gotten it.

I see what you meant... and I didn't get it. But now I do...(Besides all being Anonymous didn't help any....)

    So anyways...

    Thanks for your support.

    Enuf about me.

Even if you present yourself as WWP/Chanalogy as opposed to Anonymous, if you sport GF gear on campus you should probably be prepared to answer/counter queries about the Internet Hate Machine.

I was already here. :p I posted this earlier.
  40. Completely agree... WIthout having at least cursory knowledge about the other topics of Anonymous, (Habbo Raids, IRL trolling. SOny PSN Down etc.) You'll just get mocked.i.e. Some flyers that talk about what Moralfag Anonymous do etc as in relation to WWP. and Flyers talking about the other sordid past of Anonymous. You must acknowledge that it happened. And be prepared for people that are only aware of that.
