      • Hey Jones. Arrogance? Defending someone who is saving the lives of hundreds of thousands of kids whose parents took them off dangerous meds that induce suicide ideation. CCHR exposed the drugs and their work has long since been vindicated in black box warnings that came as a direct result of their exposes. No. Not arrogance. Very simply presenting a sane viewpoint in the midst a complete stonewalling of the truth. If you believe a word of what Ortega says about Scientology after watching his agenda, I have a great bridge for sale over the East River--for you...cheap.

you would know about being sold bridges
and the other stuff you say?
its made up and you can't prove the stuff you say
i know you believe it and while that may make it true for you
      it doesn't make it true

but I am fascinated as to why $cientologists would expend any energy writing comments on a blog in the village voice
do you think you are going to change any of the minds here, or what?
village voice readers have generally "been to town" and fairly informed
why do do you bother? Its ok with me but its rather pointless, no?

If no such case existed and any of this money was used for her defense it would be FRAUD. I wonder if INTERPOL or the prosecutors in Australia would like to know about this. No doubt if he is US based I would like to think the feds should know about this. It is a solicitation under false pretense.

Yeah, I'm a dick for triple quadruple posting. So sue me. I'm half fucking dead already.

For anyone who can be arsed to do the digging, Ken Moxon's wife is the Director of Field Activities of CCHR.

CCHR 40th Anniversary, LA, February 2009

I strongly suspect Moxon and associates will not be helping Jan Eastgate in any way, but will be throwing her under a bus as soon as possible to get her to SHUT THE FUCK UP.

          Les,
I’m proud to say that the only cause I ever donated to in all my time in the Church of Scientology was the SEF because I believed that Mary Sue deserved the best defense we could muster.
(I wasn’t too jazzed about some of that money going to Jane Kember’s defense as well but it was a package deal icon_wink.gif?m=1268957932g.gif )
So I broke my piggy bank and gave ‘em an outrageous sum of 35 bucks and some change.
(I mean I was punk kid back then on staff so to me that was a freakin’ fortune!)
Older and wiser (“My Back Pages” en contrare ) the IAS comes along demanding money for this or that and I tell ‘em basically not in those exact words to go f-ck themselves.
Told ‘em I was staff and AOLA pays for my membership so I don’t have to waste the money basically.
(you could say that me and the IAS never saw eye to eye which at that time wasn’t the crime that it later became.
Nor did my wife who was a proud HASI member.)
The only time I was ever forced to pay for their overpriced membership was when I wasn’t on staff and wanted to do a course or when we had a big FSMC comin’.
Yet here were these suckers forking out 10, 15, sometimes 100 grand a pop to these dildos.
          Could never figure out why?
If I ever bothered to think about it.
I mean I figured out that the IAS was a fraud and a scam when I had the inside “skinny” from an old GO now OSA friend of mine who told me the main reason for eliminating HASI and the CSC was to avoid paying Wollershiem “one thin dime” as the saying went.
That’s when I figured out that the IAS was nothing but a shell game in other words basically a money laundering op and nothing more.
          More accurately a donation racket.

I was just watching this and I thought it shoudl be the Church’s theme song. They could play it right before Miscavige walks on stage:

Know what else this means? It means Jan Eastgate is on her own. Kicked to the curb. Miscavige is not footing her legal bill. CCHR and she are genning up the funds for her bail and legal defense.
Gee, Jan. Feeling the lack of love yet?
Better yet … let me guess: You originated you did NOT want the $hurch’s support, right? You jumped into the breach to be cause, right? You volunteered to be responsible, right? You wanted to be right, not wrong, right?
What a ball of snakes and considerations and confusions you have entwined yourself with. And if you’re going to ride that steed all the way around the track, get ready to finish last.
      JM

I was suspecting that, too, but she might be too integral to their public image. They might also think they have some reasonably good defenses. They will only throw her under a bus if they lose, I think, or if they clearly are going to lose. The problem for them is that if she loses, it's strong evidence that can be used in a civil suit against them. While I'm not sure of the exact contours of Australia's evidence rules, I can't imagine there isn't a way to get it in. She'd be a necessary witness, and it would certainly impeach her if she didn't testify honestly, that she is convicted of perverting the course of justice in the same case the civil suit would be about.

Therefore, they might not be able to afford throwing her under the bus, especially if she then turns around and cuts a deal in return for a lighter sentence and the government decides to go after the cult itself. That's pure speculation, but you can be sure they're thinking about it. Also, if they provide the legal defense, they will be able to control the defense strategy so it doesn't impact the cult. This is, of course, completely against legal ethics (legal counsel is obligated to be absolutely loyal to the person they are representing and not who is paying their check), but I've rarely seen Scientology lawyers let little things like ethics get in their way. If they do, they get replaced pretty quickly.
