From what I've read it appears that they may have started on conventional seizure treatments, then withdrawn it completely and not tried any other drugs when it (apparently) lost effectiveness.

Actually, I see no evidence for sure that "it lost its effectiveness." The only reports we've seen have been ambiguous. They've ranged from "it became ineffective" to "it was destroying his liver." We don't know for sure why they took him off meds. We absolutely do know that the mother admitted publicly before the press that the kid has had at least one purification rundown "detox."

Don't assume they "became ineffective" because he habituated to them and became resistant. They may have "become ineffective" because they stopped giving them / adhering to tx regimen.

That's definitely their version of events, though they've done nothing to support their claim (not that they necessarily have any obligation to do so). Nonetheless, to acknowledge they attempted to treat the disorder is, in a way, and acknowledgment of the disorder. The fact that they failed, after acknowledging it, to treat it appropriately (and anyone with a seizure disorder will tell you their version of events does not describe sufficient effort) only makes them more liable.

I'll reiterate again that I believe Travolta loved his son dearly, and thought he was doing what was best for his son. But Travolta had firm, misplaced faith in Hubbard and Scientology, and we have proof to demonstrate that neither Hubbard nor Scientology would support a full treatment regimen for a seizure disorder (whether it was autism related or not).

The fact that Scientology does allow full treatment of Kawasaki disorder does not afford them any respite from criticism.

Sure, I agree that this might not be the case, but the point I was really trying to make is that regardless, therapy was withdrawn altogether, leading to the regular seizures as before treatment; the obvious thing to do IF it became ineffective would be to treat him with an alternate medication, not just let him seize every four days and hope for the best, which seems to be what happened.

    Re: Jetts Death certificate

    • They established a frequency of 1:4 days for seizures
    • They establish the strength as "death-like", Grand Mal.
    • They establish this has been going on for years.
    • They established he took conventional medication at one point.
    • They established there was marked improvement in his condition for a period (he responded to mediation)
    • They established they consulted a neurosurgeon/specialist.
    • They had x2 unqualified caregivers.
    • Not even a helmet.
THIS is where they have problem.

They successfully utilized conventional medical treatment for a life threatening medical condition, then abandoned it with complete disregard.

As a dependent minor, the parents are legally responsible for the safety and well being of Jett.

    • So who did they consult? Multiple Qualified Clinicians?
    • What were was the Stated Dx and Tx advice?
    • Did they run a purif after the Depakote to detox?
    • Lab records of the hepatic function.

As callous as it is, I believe the family needs to be investigated by the proper authorities (IMHO IANAL).

I/we did not create this situation, they did.

I may have the tinfoil on too tight, but my gut is telling me that something is wrong here. I have no DOX to back it up, but I think that this "leaked" certificate is a fake.

It looks like they copy-and-pasted the pathologist's signature in from another document and made the rest up in MS word or photoshop. This is an (image of an) official GOVERNMENT document. Where's the raised seal or any other markers of authenticity?

Are there any Bahama Anons who can request the real thing?

    Good summary. Two details:
    - "They established he took conventional medication at one point." Could give the impression it was for a short period of time. TTBOMK, he took it for "several years". Need to check the statement.
    - "Did they run a purif after the Depakote to detox?" TTBOMK, the PR was mentioned only in connection with Kawasaki, so at age 2 or 3.

Says April 12th is Jett's birthday.
Maybe this April 12th (it falls on a Sunday) can be "Operation Jett." (if Scientology is still up and running LOL)

Signs can say "Jett Would Be 17 tomorrow if not for Scientology"

    Just an idea
