After a crisis like this, it's really important that the cult clamp down with constant reinforcement of its control. Wouldn't want JT to like, wake up and realize his kid died due in part to Scientology's stupid, ignorant views on autism and "psych drugs."

I just saw that Travolta is hosting with Robin Williams on TV, because they are showing the Old Dogs movie

Not even the death of his son could wake him up.
It is now a hundred times harder for me to feel sorry for him.

    Meh, I smell press release.

Also how many people in have had loved ones die and still view the cult through bullshit-tinted glasses? This is hardly a unique occurance.

Whatever hold they have on him they're turning the screws all right.

What do they know they're not telling us?

What this means, being translated is, we have to toe the line big-time with this interfering blackmailing bully or he will reveal all sorts of nasty things about us to the press.

To keep your son's autism a secret because of fear of your own religion is just sad, i understand the melancholy emotion of losing a family member, let alone a child, but going back to that religion that is ashamed of your child's special needs is just pathetic. To go back to Scientology and have them "counsel" you and make everything all super sweet is ridiculous, someone needs to pick up Vincent Vega and tell him to get his balls back from the cult.

I'm betting that there is all kinds of dancing around the actual overt and its adjuncts and corollaries:

"I contributed to the death of my child by not getting him proper medical care."

"I have failed to insist that my church follow its stated policies and technology bulletins about the same situation. I am 'out KSW'".

Scientologists 24/7 for 2 years, creepy! Seriously though, I wonder if this is likely to piss off the Sci’s who were not allowed time off for family funerals and not given any time to grieve.

I feel very sad for Jett, even in death he’s not allowed to be seen as he was, those shooped images I think show that they were embarrassed by him. I’m appalled that his death is now a periodic PR exercise on how John got over it. Still sci was never known for its good taste.

If I understand this correctly it means "If I had been allowed to I would have ditched this cult, but luckily I was constantly monitored and controlled."

    I don't envy the man.

  25. Poor Jett. In autism, early childhood education is tantamount and can certainly make a difference in outcomes. The kid was kept even from this by two self-absorbed parents in denial who listened to the ravings of a UFO cult. With as much money as the Travoltas have, the kid shouldn't have had part-time photographer 'mannies' but licensed teachers. His seizure problem was also left to deteriorate and it killed him in the end.

When a poor person willfully ignores medical advice for a minor because of their religion and it results in damage or death, they are arrested and often jailed. But when it's John Travolta... it's 'Hey Vinny! How's it hanging?'. I'm glad to see the gossip media worrying this bone a little. He needs to be gnawed on- and his skanky fucking beard too.

Humans have family members. Scientology celebrities have props.

Jett is now a prop in the tale John Travolta tells the world about his life.

Too bad the actual kid who got turned into the prop had to suffer and die for it. Because to Scientology, he's just a prop. He just gets to show up to show how great a job Scientology did for the closet case weirdo John Travolta. How awesome that Faturday Night Fever Ravolta got over how he killed his own son for Scientology! Great! Wonderful!

Pathetic. "Healing" yourself with Scientology is like claiming cutting yourself is therapy. Or you're shooting smack to cure yourself. Fuck this bullshit. It disgusts me to see garbage like this being printed as "news."

Did John Travolta reveal too much about Scientology? | The Underground Bunker

    By Tony Ortega

Last week, a flattering interview with John Travolta showed up in the Telegraph in advance of the actor’s appearance this weekend in London. Since then, numerous media outlets have been making much of one statement Travolta made in the piece about how he coped after the 2009 death of his son Jett.

“I don’t know what I would have done if I hadn’t had the support of Scientology. I don’t think I could have got through it. They were with me every day after Jett died. They even travelled with me when I needed to get away. And for a solid two years it was like that. It was only in the second year that I started to take a break of a day or two just to see how I was doing on my own.”

If Travolta intended for that to make Scientology look beneficial, it’s had the opposite effect — he seemed to indicate that church handlers were watching him so closely for more than a year, at some point he needed to get away.

We asked Jefferson Hawkins, who just completed a great series for us about Scientology ethics, to give us his thoughts on Travolta’s statement. We reminded him that Travolta reportedly admitted to Bahamian police that Jett was autistic — a somewhat shocking admission for a member of Scientology, which denies that autism exists. Was the church worried that the shock of Jett’s death might send Travolta crashing out of Scientology?

Obviously the cult sees him as an asset. That must mean things are really, really grim PR-wise.

Usually they use Kelly Preston to pump out the PR filler.

tl;dr: Jett died and we had a sad, but everything is puppies now thanks to Scientology!

Does Travolta think Scientology would provide minders to any member stupid enough to want them for 2 years?
  34. Ann O'Nymous Member

Sad. Scientology prevented Travolta and Preston from handling Jett's condition properly in many respects, leading to his death, and then managed to take even more money from them to deal with the consequences.

As I think someone alluded to, before, the public is likely to figure that:

24/7 minding by a cult goon allowed Travolta to get through grief.

But non-Scientologists go through grief over the death of loved-ones, including children, without any Scientology.

Patently, Travolta's OT Level Zillion, and his decades and millions invested in cult psycho-therapy were not adequate of themselves, without the 24/7 cult goon.

No everyday punter is going to have Travolta's level of Scientology "expertise", or receive such goon-support.

Accordingly, Scientology seems like an expensive exercise in futility and self-deception. Self-deception should be free.
