Translation of a Russian article posted on May 4, 2011 on the website of the vesti.kz news agency of Kazakhstan:

Actually, just recently I saw an article in Russian saying that Scientology and Krishnas will be forced by the government of Kazakhstan to re-register as religions, which made the two sects furious, as other "legit" religions obviously don't need to do any registering.

Kazakhstan is an exremely oil rich country. Scientology just doesn't want to give up on all that potential money.
But Kazakhsan is also a dictatorship that doesnt' give a shit about the European Court of Human Rights or even less powerful OSCE.

Yet, Scn's organization in Almaty is flourishing long after Kazakhstan got spanked by the international community for trying and failing to persecute minority religions.

As a Scientologist, Tildacity, I am mindful that you are being subject to massively enturbulated theta on this message board.

It must be restimulating your bank. Do you think you are imune to this?

    Are you sure about that?
Spoken to any of the families there?
Also speak with the Freezoners not sure if they have 50 though to comply with the current registration.
Also no coffee sent to Sparrow, next time he is out hopefully he gets one.
    Have a hug though.

Scientology looks plenty persecuted in Kazakhstan to me. The Narconon in Kazakhstan got shut down for practising medicine without a medical license. That's not flourishing in my book.

See what happens, tildacity? Your theta posting causes masses of entheta. Posting here is not your hat.
  12. Fraud should be outlawed everywhere and those committing it should not be allowed to hide behind a 'religion' to avoid prosecution.

    L. Ron Hubbard's scam became a religion by using his religious cloaking policy to do so. That policy in and of itself is fraud, never mind all the super-power claims that are sold at absurd prices and do NOT work.

Scientology has been a total fraud right from the beginning just like its founder, a convicted fraud who died a fugitive.

You're so quick to get butthurt, it'd be funny if it weren't so offensive.

No Scientologist has ever been arrested just for being a cultie; they always got arrested for things like practising medicine without a licence. Or kidnapping. Or espionage. Or covering up child sex abuse.

Right now, Iran has a Christian pastor on death row for the "crime" of Apostasy. In China, Christians live with the constant threat of being arrested and detained without trial.

Persecution? You fucking clamtards have NO IDEA what persecution is, and your continued BAWWWWWWW is an insult to PROPER religions (as opposed to cults based on bullshit space-alien exorcism therapy mind-fuck that some ugly fat SF writer pulled out of his ass).

This is a brilliant report of the Kazakh TV in Russian. We should translate it swiftly!

  15. Well, I wouldn't call the allegation that the CoS activities "entail a threat to the national security of Kazakhstan, and to the health of its residents" entirely unfounded. Particularly the second one.

I kind of agree that the Church of Scientology hasn't demonstrably infiltrated government organizations in a while so you might give them a pass on that one but I'm good with cracking down on pseudoscientific quackery, which does endanger people's health.

i was thinking the same but so far managed to not-say-it for fear of losing our one and only clam-troll

here! Tildacity - have you any idea why we often refer to Scientologists as CLAMS ?
  17. Anonymous Member

You're like a living breathing combination of facepalm and lulz all wrapped up in a neat package. Please keep it up.

Hey tildacity, are you male or female?
  19. tildacity Member

You're foregoing 'clamfag' in a modest effort to restrain yourself to only one denigrating slur at a time.

They're not a member of the European Court of Human Rights, so why should they give a shit?

I love it how you clams never answer the questions directly. Haven't they taught you at Dianetics school how to answer yes or no questions?

Isn't Kazakhstan where Borat comes from?

oh how i <3 the smell of cult butthurt right before i go to bed.
  29. tildacity Member

The Jewish comedian Sacha Baron Cohen conceived the bigoted character Borat as a satiric condemnation of antisemitism prevailing in Eurasia. Kazakhstan objected to the resulting movie, but here we are discussing Kazakhstan's persecution of yet another religious minority.

In relation to you, we are discussing if you are authorized to post on behalf of Scientology, or if you are attempting to embarrass Scientology on your own initiative.

    No answer?

    No comm?

    No confront?
  31. Anonymous Member

You're still talking in circles without actually saying anything. Judaism isn't being shut down in Eurasia. Unlike scientology, it's recognized as an actual religion.
  32. Anonymous Member

Also: 6 million dead in a slaughter that, BTW, had nothing to to with psychiatry. THAT is persecution.

Having a government raise legitimate issues about CoS criminality is NOT persecution. It's just a cult being butthurt.
  33. Anonymous Member

I am pleased Kazakhstan shares our values & concerns about the cult.

News flash - Kazakhs never persecuted Jews or any other ethnic minority. Kazahkstan used to be a dumping ground for Stalin. That's where he sent all the political prisoners. Kazakhstan has a big Jewish population, those that were sent there to labour camps.
The only "religious" minority "persecuted" there is your cult of greed and power.
  36. Anonymous Member

I love that song [and I'm Jewish]. I used to sing it non-stop. Though I would occassionally get weird looks from people. haha
  37. Anonymous Member

    We non-Jews love it, too!
  38. Anonymous Member

Yeah, but it's hard for you to sing it outloud, while I get a get out of jail free card.
  39. Anonymous Member

Where I live, I could play it over a loudspeaker from a blimp and not get arrested for it. You must live in New York City.
