Actually, just recently I saw an article in Russian saying that Scientology and Krishnas will be forced by the government of Kazakhstan to re-register as religions, which made the two sects furious, as other "legit" religions obviously don't need to do any registering.

Scientology looks plenty persecuted in Kazakhstan to me. The Narconon in Kazakhstan got shut down for practising medicine without a medical license. That's not flourishing in my book.

Well, I wouldn't call the allegation that the CoS activities "entail a threat to the national security of Kazakhstan, and to the health of its residents" entirely unfounded. Particularly the second one.

News flash - Kazakhs never persecuted Jews or any other ethnic minority. Kazahkstan used to be a dumping ground for Stalin. That's where he sent all the political prisoners. Kazakhstan has a big Jewish population, those that were sent there to labour camps.
