Kirstie Alley, and more real estate.

I ran across an interesting tidbit...

Looks like Kirstie Alley is considering buying Union Station in downtown Wichita, roughly 4 miles from the Wichita mission's current location.

    Kansas.com | 04/06/2008 | Kirstie Alley and Union Station -- together?

Now, in case you were wondering....

    union1av4.jpg

Does this look like prime mission property, or what? You can't tell me she wants to open a fucking train station....

    Asking price is $6,450,000

I'm guessing the train will bring her her meals. Either that or she's gotten too massive for your typical vehicles.

    ...need a bigger harpoon.

Though, hell, I could've sworn City of Wichita had something planned for the train station. Aw, cocks.

What we need now is exploding tip anti-panda harpoon lasers. Charged of course.

Re: Kirstie Alley, and more real estate.

This is srsly about the only thing that could actually get us to go to Wichita. Thanks a fucking lot, Sea Cow. *packs up the harpoons, nets, and lulz for the road*

Not to piss in your Wheaties.....

But Wichita is the birthplace of Dianetics, and CoS has what it has because of that thundercunt.

Interesting factoid....it ALL happened on Douglas. Alley owns shit on Douglas, CoS now is on Douglas, Union Station is on Douglas, and......Hubbard's original Dianetics Foundation, where Dianetics was birthed....right here on Douglas. Matter of fact, the building that it occured in was demolished to make way for Century II.

Yes, I know all about it. Still, it takes an imminent situation to stimulate us to go to that desolate gangland ringed by suburbs.

Although Kirstie might well [strike]eat[/strike]buy the whole thing for Scientology, it's also possible that she could just [strike]bite[/strike]buy a corner of it for Scientology so they can use the prestige of the building in their ad copy.

Re: Kirstie Alley, and more real estate.

They just bought the TimeWarner bldg in Columbus, which can't be much more active org.

We gotta stop this expansion of property. Why are they dumping all this money into real estate??

Hay kansasfags, check in Witchita zoning on the bldg. It's probably up to snuuff, but sometimes there are city ordiances about distance from bars to schools and religious bldgs. Start educating the building dept and mayor about this group. Stick to the property taxes and what they did to clearwater with their development. Also they don't pay minimum wage, but instead have some type of religious donation and volunteer bullshi-.
  16. Re: Kirstie Alley, and more real estate.

To hide it in plain sight, to avoid tax on it, escape fund for DM, definitley NOT because their numbers are growing so fast that they need new orgs.

    Uhmmm.. WTF.

So, NICK and other wichita guys....

    Whats our plan??

Go to the head guy of Cox comm and tell them what scientology does and what they'd do if they had their building?? Picket out front?

WE CAN'T LET THEM OWN DOUGLAS!!! WE NEED TO STOP THIS!
  21. Re: Kirstie Alley, and more real estate.

just how rich is KA anyway, I mean she seems to be in a lot of real estate deals at the moment, there was a trhead before where her name was on 3 mortgage papers?

are these mortgages based on her furture earnings?

not sure how it works in the US, but if she is not paying for these buildings outright, is she a front-whale?

and if she is paying for them outright, what with? she surely ain't THAT rich?

Re: Kirstie Alley, and more real estate.

doubtful CoX owns the bldg. Check online in county auditor webpage or whoever has the realestate stuff. YOu can also ask at the planning dept if they submitted plans for that address. You can tell the city they will lose X in property tax, or maybe try and educated them, but leave out anything contraversial, just the facts about they will run Narcanon rehab out of there, a scilon school, daycare, they may turn it into living quarters. It is not a normal "church".

Re: Kirstie Alley, and more real estate.

Do your homeword on ZONING ISSUES.

THEN educate the municipality, seller, and public accordingly.

    But DO YOUR HOMEWORK.

the best scenaria is she buys it, then is unable to have it rezoned for their use, transferred, rented, or otherwise.

Re: Kirstie Alley, and more real estate.

As far as I know, it's definitely not zoned for housing of anything of sorts, considering it used to be the office for Cox Communications (local ISP/Cable tv/digital phone) ... and they haven't been in that building for at least two years (they moved over to the 901 building which used to be the old Sears-Roebucks building.)

Seems that there's nothing new on the zoning issues (according to wichita.gov) as it says that the last thing was done in 2003 (some gutter work)

Re: Kirstie Alley, and more real estate.

Contact the historical society, maybe there is county or state.. who knows. It might be in a registry of historical buildings, or get it in a registry. That means the plans would be highly scrutinized (and less attractive).
  30. Re: Kirstie Alley, and more real estate.

    CoS buys buildings. (-$$$)

Anonymous makes sure buildings stay empty. (+lulz)

    I don't see a problem here.

Re: Kirstie Alley, and more real estate.

Eh, not necessarily. It is currently a buyer's market in the US.
  32. Re: Kirstie Alley, and more real estate.

Fast or slow, a little or a lot, as long as money is pouring OUT of CoS and very little is flowing in, I encourage them to buy MORE buildings.

  33. Re: Kirstie Alley, and more real estate.

This does give Anon an opportunity. Obviously Scientology is going to get attention because of this, particularly since Kirstie Alley is involved. We can turn it in to an opportunity to draw attention to what Scientology really is. I know for a fact that a Wichita anon has been a victim of fair game. See: http://forums.whyweprotest.net/7-general-discussion/im-no-longer-nameless-7077/

While Kirstie Alley fame currently consists of "Look how fat she's gotten" stories in the tabloids, she'd still draw a lot of attention making a personal appearance in Wichita. This isn't New York - we don't exactly get a lot of celebrity sightings. I think it's a fair bet that we'd get Anons flocking from hundreds of miles to come in and protest.

And once every thing blows over, the Scientologists would have the same downstat mission in a different, more expensive building.
  34. Re: Kirstie Alley, and more real estate.

The article does refer to "the firm handling the sale for Cox," so it seems likely that Cox does own the building. It's interesting to see the article mention all the other property she owns/leases on Douglas. The former Inn At The Park and the building next to it are on the same block as the Hubbard Dianetics Center. (The building next to the Inn At The Park is the one featuring the creepy Christmas display shown here and here - still up at the time of the 4-12 protest, btw)

Yes this strategy is where it is at!
    Plus

Need to inform building neighbors, city of wichita and city officail all the crap going on w/ COS right now- ask- DOES WICHITA want that kind of publicity right now? Pat Roberts might also have a thing or two to say too--?

Re: Kirstie Alley, and more real estate.

You guys realize that if Co$ does start buying up property, with the current market in the shitter, than once property values start to increase then Co$ starts selling the building's they're not using.

Co$ buying up property doesn't hurt them economically... quite the opposite. They are playing the real estate game when blood is running in the streets (I.E. when everyone else has already lost a lot of money and they are looking to sell high quality real estate for cheap). They will make money on this. Keeping them from buying up buildings is critical to keep them from investing their money.
