The flip side, of course, would be a label or warning about products, serrvices, celebrities full of thetans. People are reluctant to be seen "personally attacking celebrities," so instead lets be seen as endorsing / certifying things that we know aren't dump trucks for Scientological information distribution. It's nice to know Wolfgang's catering for the celebs, I wonder what RPF'ers are having for dinner tonight? Off topic a bit, but has anybody thought about sending the ICRC in to Gold? Third time's the charm, don't forget... Part of L. Ron Hubbard's proclamations, and a high crime in the Church of Scientology, is 'Squirreling', or giving your own interpretation, to the Tech which he pulled from the Golden Thetan hiding in his anal crevice. A lot of the early declares and expulsions were for minor squirreling - like deciding that if an e-meter needle kind of edged one way but wasn't PERFECTLY floating it was OK enough for a pass. "WRONG!" According to Hubbard, and enough to get you thrown out of the CoS for deciding so. Less than a decade after Hubbard died, though, David Miscavige released the Golden Age of Knowledge, or GAK, and the "New OT Levels", or NOTs - which by Hubbard's definitions were MAJOR 'squirreling' because Dainty Davey wasn't just kind of making things up as he was going along, he was out-and-out rewriting the books of HUBBARD HIMSELF. Over the years since, there's been much minor 'squirreling' going on as Dainty D clipped and edited Hubbard's audio lectures, rewrote the CoS dictionaries, changed this and that... oh, and rewrote ALL THE BOOKS and re-released them last year, blaming "Bad secretaries" for doin' it rong the first time. Funny thing is? Just after Hubbard's death, Dainty David Miscavige is on video as saying that the tech is perfect as-is and that they've got the OT9 dox in hand. But hey, DM's gotta put his imprint on Scientology as a whole, and slowly phasing Hubbard out as the Source and putting himself in Hubtoad's place seems to be his gameplan. You know, Jesus Christ was the second leader of the religion, after John the Baptist; watching DM's mechanations makes me wonder... if we left Scientology alone and it didn't implode over the next thousand years, how would the CoS's history look in that distant day? "And lo, Hubbard saw the perfection of the young David and recognized in him the greatness of the true Source, which Hubbard had only been keeping as a temporary title...."

JtB wasn't the leader of anything; he was telling people to get ready for Jesus. Hubbard, on the other hand, said that his tech was final, and nothing greater would ever come, so don't change the tech. It's not even a close comparison, so the guy who compared Hubbard to John the Baptist is fail. Learn yer religions before you start making proclaimations about them.

Step 2: Jesus (or davey) works for hubbard (or john) and eventually becomes the leader of said religion/cult. Step 3: John's writings (or Hubbard's) are changed over time by Jesus (or Davey), making him the messiah and his predecessor a prophet who foretold his coming. Step 4: Over time the true origins are forgotten and people assume Jesus (or Davey) was the big deal. No reason to believe otherwise. Step 5: I ask you how this kind of speculation counts as "not even close". The whole point was that we wouldn't know now if it had happened thousands of years ago. Step 6: Dance party
