Since Narconon seems to be back to playing the 'infiltrate schools' game again, I thought I'd put the link to the official report the California Department of Education used to make it's decision to give Narconon the boot from their schools. The report can be found at: http://www.cde.ca.gov/ls/he/at/narcononevaluation.asp Being an official state report, it seems to get peoples attention when included in 'poons. BigBeard
This is the first time I've read this^^^^^report. Very nice indeed. On bus right now using my Mini Lap-Top and high speed USB internet stick. I love it - - huge happy pants (((Bulge))) LOL Thanks for posting this BigBeard. .
Thanks, Beard... could you include the full name "Narconon" in the title so people can find this easier when they search for it, please? ^^
Not sure how to change a thread title, so 'reported' myself and asked a mod to expand the NN to Narconon. BigBeard
Nice filing of a knowledge report on yourself Big Beard, in the upper levels when doing solo-auditing you can send them to yourself and rat your own ass out to uself for ethics handling, I think........well actually I try not to think at all sometimes, yesterday I didn't have a single thought all day.....It was a good day......lol Thx for posting info. on Narconon, it's really cruel what they do to addicts selling false promises at 30 grand a pop for an absurd program that does not offer any legitimate help. 30 grand in the bank, desperate addicts out on the street, happens a lot more often than they would ever let on......
IIRC that bill came from the articles in the Chronicle http://www.cs.cmu.edu/~dst/Stop-Narconon/sfusd-articles.html
It was actually a series of articles on the SFGate blog of the SF Chronicle. This is the list I dug out of my archives, which I believe is complete, but I won't swear to it: Original article by Nanette Asimov (NA below), and yes, she's the niece of THE Asimov: http://articles.sfgate.com/2004-06-...ug-residue-drug-treatment-centers-flush-drugs NA - 1st Follow-up: Points out links to Scientology teachings: http://articles.sfgate.com/2004-06-09/news/17430542_1_scientology-anti-drug-public-classrooms NA - 2nd Follow-up: Narconon lecturers put on notice to fix inaccuracies http://articles.sfgate.com/2004-06-...-science-fiction-writer-san-francisco-schools Clark Carr's (Scientology/Narconon Spokesperson) response to the above articles, full of the usual nonsense: http://articles.sfgate.com/2004-06-...-prevention-drug-czar-john-walters-drug-abuse Article by Heather Knight on NN defending the program to the SF School Board: http://articles.sfgate.com/2004-06-...on-program-san-francisco-schools-school-board NA - 3rd Follow-up: LA Schools look hard at Narconon following SF & state review of NN program (pretty much shoots Clark Carr's response down in flames): http://articles.sfgate.com/2004-06-...-narconon-los-angeles-schools-school-district NA - 4th Follow-up: SF schools ban Narconon program, along with 4 other school districts including LA: http://articles.sfgate.com/2004-08-...-narconon-international-san-francisco-schools NA - 5th Follow-up: Narcon program flunks test by panel of experts (includes usual 'experts are biased' response from $cilon spokes person): http://articles.sfgate.com/2004-10-...chools-narconon-international-medical-experts NA - 6th Follow-up: Schools urged to drop Scientology linked antidrug program: http://articles.sfgate.com/2005-02-...-residues-san-francisco-schools-school-health NA - 7th Follow-up: California Medical Association backs schools dropping the Narcon program: http://articles.sfgate.com/2005-03-...narconon-smaller-districts-california-schools BigBeard
Since the school infiltration has been popping up a lot lately, I asked the mods to make this a 'sticky' to make the references for 'poons easier to find. BigBeard
I have started the "Just Say No To Narconon" with Oklahoma Schools campaign today, it will go big this weekend. BB, this information is invaluable.....Thanks Bro.
Actually it's Nanette Asimov that deserves the thanks. She's the one who cranked the spotlight around, set it for maximum illumination, and lit up the narCONon infiltration of California schools big time. Which eventually led to that report being generated for the State of California. And good luck with your campaign to keep the scam out of OK schools! BigBeard
Bump. This link is gold when used on any organization in California; schools, churches, clubs, businesses.

Did they talk about the Narconon worker found dead with head injuries and no ID less than a mile from Narconon?
See here's the thing. The guy went missing from work, a dead guy is found close by, and Narconon doesn't pick up?

There's alread a thread for the NN AH visiting schools. This is supposed to be a 'sticky' reference thread for info to 'poon people with. Could we please not clutter it up with general NN discussion that's already being addressed elsewhere on WWP?? BigBeard
Hi Lin, another aspect of the charitable status of Narconon (that it still currently enjoys) is the access it has to UK schoolchildren. Having been a teacher then I know that children can be influenced on a long term basis by what their teachers tell them. Narconon's views on drugs are dogmatic, as stated by L. Ron Hubbard, who had no scientific training of any worth, and does not reflect scientific evidence. Hubbard was very anti drugs - even prescription drugs - that could save the life of a person. Think how a talk by Narconon allowed into a UK school might affect a child on anti-epileptic medication. It could have fatal consequences. If this Narconon group were anti-drugs and made the best use of scientific evidence as it evolved then it would be a credit to society but if its views remain fixed on the ill-educated opinions of L. Ron Hubbard then it represents a danger that is not for the public good. The Church of Scientology is more dominant in the United States of America than in the UK and such issues have already been addressed there, as you will see from the following article, where as a result the Narconon organisation was blocked access to California schools. http://www.cde.ca.gov/ls/he/at/narcononevaluation.asp Roland Rashleigh-Berry
Narconon in Cali has been visiting Schools. Unfortunately it's a private school. They could follow the state guidelines regarding NN, but aren't required to. About all that can be done is pointing the school, and it's board if it has one, at the state report. BigBeard
I tried really hard to do this. I know some people saw something, but nobody has come back for more information. I can see how being an ethnic minority school might make them more likely to circle the wagons rather than reach out to see if/how they were fooled.
Armenians are orthodox Christian. I would poon Armenian Churches in the area and let them know that NarCONon is a scientology front group.
If it's a public school the local PTA and press should get a copy of the report, and demand explanations from school staff as to why narCONon was even allowed in the door! It was pressure from the press, specifically Nanette Asimov's articles in the SFGate, that led to the report being generated to begin with. BigBeard
Narconon Fresh Start will be doing a presentation in Los Altos High School from 6pm-7pm. Stop the cult from poising your kids! Scientology knows no shame. This information is from the schools FB account (Comments are open): https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?...159616829124.15284.132155653496187&type=1
I have been thinking about this, and a horrible realization occurred to me: this is part of why they are tax exempt. What i mean by this, is that the IRS KNOWS that this is what they are doing, because this is their "drug education" program. Its why they were given non-profit status, because they are a "drug education" non-profit. However, non-profits are not just regulated by the IRS but also by state DAs. The state DA of California may be a better choice for reporting these narconon issues to. Especially since their "education" is based on religion, not science.
Just adding the link to the latest SFGate article on NN sneaking back into Calif schools so there all in one thread: http://www.sfgate.com/education/article/Narconon-Misleading-antidrug-program-back-in-5504351.php BigBeard
