    Pro-Iranian Gov't posters

I'm sure most of you are aware that like twitter there are probably some Iranian Gov't people posting here. When you see negativity being posted, posts that are aimed at discouraging protesters or seeks to confuse the issues, be suspicious. Don't get baited.

There is an old adage "Rome wasn't built in a day".

The people in Iran are the ones that matter. Those of us outside Iran can only be their eyes and on occasion their voice - getting their message out by rebroadcasting. We can encourage and we can enable, but we can not direct. We are mostly observers. Be patient and allow them to decide. This is their country, their dreams, their hopes.

If you don't have something positive to say why are you here? They don't need your negativity.

Scary thing is that in order to add the green overlay, you must give full read/write access to your Twitter account to this application. First thing it does is post a Tweet on your behalf... but who knows what other mischief it could do with access to your account like that.

suggest going into Twitter "Settings --> Connections" and Revoke Access to this app after the overlay is in place.

Neda: the true face of Iran
In case you want the world to know, here is the true face of Iran: a young, vibrant, and beautiful woman murdered in cold blood so that some gray old Supreme Murderer and his equally gray old cohorts can keep on imposing their 1400-year-old ways upon the people.

I think it might go back and forth. Perhaps as they lighten police presence over time, the protests will grow again. Also there are other things like strikes and the cleric dispute in Qom which may gain ground soon. But it is a bit worriesome to see such light protesting this week. Not that I blame people for not wanting to be beaten every day.
  24. Well, if you don't stop protesting, there will be a lot of dead people, but if you stop, there will be a LOT more dead people in the weeks to come. Be sure that the regime will track down every single identified opponent and those will disappear into the night. That's how it's been done in every country after a failed revolution. The regime will eliminate the opposition and reorganize so to prevent similar uprising in the future. So, the choice is to continue fighting for a just cause and possibly get killed in the process or hide and pray the basij or others don't come "knocking" on your door.

  35. Neda: The Symbol of a Brewing Revolution

    the blogosphere carry the word...

Neda: The Symbol of a Brewing Revolution
Neda: The Symbol of a Brewing Revolution | IANYAN

When we are dead, seek not our tomb in the earth, but find it in the hearts of men, reads the epitaph on the tomb of Rumi, famed 13th century Persian poet and mystic. Though he died hundreds of years ago, those words ring truer today than ever before, most certainly when it came to Neda, a woman shot by Basij volunteer militia in Tehran on Saturday, June 20, as she stood peacefully alongside those protesting the outcome of the Iranian election they believed to be rigged.

The world watched as she lay on the Karegan Avenue, life slipping rapidly out of her hands, as those around her told her to not be afraid. Almost instantly and accidentally, Neda became the entire symbol and poster child for not only the protests and marches, but the reason why some millions of people have taken to the streets in Iran continuously for a week.
