I vote for the 10th and I still like HGB no matter how many times we go there. Plenty of crowds to inform. Also the bookstore and longsign are good for the same reasons.

I like better than BB which is all torn up.

maybe so but some people still pop up, maybe not the best time to hit that up right now. what do the rest of you say? but yeah, hope they announce when they will be done and have a big ceremony on a saturday.

Big Blue isn't that torn up anymore. The new parking lot in front is nearly complete with brand new lighting. The N side of the ASHO Building is still being renovated, though.

Many of the ASHO staff have been assigned to temporary posts at the HGB.

    Re: Los Angeles

I went by BB a month ago, and saw people coming and going. It looks like a horrid prison, but it's there doing business of some kind.

    Can I haz rubble?

    Re: Los Angeles

La Puente doesn't appear in our list of orgs and missions. Can anybody confirm it?

It may have closed, of course. Wouldn't be the first... but I suggest a little recon before a raid is committed to.

    Re: Los Angeles

I will try to go check it out on my free time if possible

    Re: Los Angeles

Should be checked-out. The missions keep disappearing. The franchise holder has to pay a lot to have them, pay rent, etc...and if people aren't coming in...there you go.

The Sunland Mission in the Valley went from this:

    to this:

    with no protests.

A mission is bad for a monthly, especially if travel is an issue.
Possibly if it exists, do recon to see when it even has people. The Mission in Glendale for example has a few people on weekends, but is fairly dead during the week.

If you want the most people possible to come or to see you, Hollywood is the way to go.

    Re: Los Angeles

you have no idea how much i love this

but I agree, stay away from the missions unless you have nothing else around for at least 50 miles. hollywood is best to stick to because it pisses them off more and easy to get too

    Re: Los Angeles

Girlhappy, you sound like a very busy person!

If you're going to check out the La Puente mission, take a video camera. Whenever you go anywhere near any Sci-owned building, even some lame mission that's probably closed, it's safer if you have a video camera. That way the Scilons can't claim you vandalized the place or assaulted someone. They also can't assault you and then lie to the police.

It's safer still if you take a video camera and friend, or your brother.

    Re: Los Angeles

Maybe a week day would be better than a Saturday for this...but the CNN building in Hollywood is on the corner of Cahuenga and Sunset...not too far from a Hollywood area protest.

Perhaps a group heading there with positive signs might be possible during the monthly???

    Re: Los Angeles

weekdays are bad for globals. if your doing a mini raid during the week with a few people thats fine but the main monthly? no. stick to saturdays

also its better to hit up one of there buildings, more so during a event because it pisses them off more

Don't have it, but I bet it is in here:

    Re: Los Angeles

I KNOW WEEKDAYS ARE BAD FOR GLOBALS

I was referring to if it would be worth dropping by CNN during the global...even though a weekday would probably be a better time to drop by CNN.

    Re: Los Angeles

might be better to go in the building yourself (without sign) and talk to them. people went by there during the first protest and took two months for them to do a story on the subject because it was such a big thing at the time
  30. Anonymous Member

    Re: Los Angeles

No ones wants to go in and get them to do a story. The way your brain thinks confuses me.

    Re: Los Angeles

might be because I'm tried and not sure to much of what I'm posting. I guess if it some people outside showing support might be cool, I don't know. I'm going to sleep

    Re: Los Angeles

The property is actually a residence... no doubt a Scientologist listing it as a business. Google map the address.. there's a photo of the home.

This is a common scheme by Scientologists that live in rural, outlying areas... to give the cult the semblance that it is much larger than it really is.

How about Gold Base? We need to applaud Catherine Fraser for the awesome job she did on AC 360. :-P

I think this will be a raid like no other.

    Re: Los Angeles

When picking dates, please consider either not having it on the 24th or moving the global to the UCLA campus.

The reason? The LA Times/UCLA Festival of books is April 24-25.
Los Angeles Times Festival of Books

Scientology usually has 3 booths there, and the Galaxy Press booth is usually a double booth, and near the main walkway as well as the C-SPAN truck...so gets a ton of foot traffic.

The other 2 booths tend to have free stress tests going on. And seeing kids take that (as the book festival has a ton of kids) really sucks.

I will make another thread for the Festival. It would be nice for a global, but I am not telling you all where the good parking is, so maybe another date is best.

There WILL be handlers and a ton of scilons in red shirts, so it is not to be missed if you are in the area.
