1. seeing someone die right before me as I too late tried to give him mouth to mouth resesitation, in part because of incompetently trained scientology advanced "auditors" and "ethics counsellers" handling instead of competent medical professionals:

2. I have had and still regularly have a number of "sessions" with a highly professional and licensed therapist (a psychologist and PHD in the subject). I have had to strip through 28 years of scientology bullshit including "raising above my problems" instead of embracing them and dealing with them and much worse things because of dangerous "tech" that was used on me and many others and that to this day is embraced as "wonderful tech" by those out and still practicing it (including just recently announced "blows").

It AMAZES me just how much I have been hurt by incompetent "therapy" as I never considered myself a weak person. Still, it was my choice and something with which I must deal.

That's my view on it anyway. I think "the tech" is very potentially dangerous for many upon whom it is or will be used. While some may feel "helped", dangerous tech is still dangerous and can hurt many as it has done to countless others over the decades.

I agree although I recognise the independent scientologists rights to the practice their belief in "the tech" for their own use even though it can be damaging.

They need to be educated about the dangers though but that is a tricky thing to do.

Yes, for their Own use, they can talk to dead people and aliens all day long. It's when they step out and practice this magic on others that they enter into the realms and laws of practicing mental health treatments and processes, according to the laws they live in.

That is the core of the problem. Scientologists do not believe they should be subject to the same peer reviews, studies, education, training, guidelines, certifications, rules and laws.

I'm not sure which appendage LRH actually used, but he did brag to UK followers that Dianetics produced telekinesis abilities. LRH said it was fun to go down in the street and use those powers to knock hats off people's heads. IIRC It turned into an insider "meme" to claim witness to LRH bopping off somebody's bowler.

There are a lot of LRH stories, but usually they're said by people who've had Hubbard groping their brains. At least one person later found that Hubbard had been using post-hypnotic suggestions on him, including one to forget the whole thing. It wouldn't surprise me if Hubbard planted a number of these "memories". (Once it got going, the stories would probably snowball on their own.)

A vague suggestion like "You'll remember that the other day I waved my hand, and the hat of someone across the street blew off, but it was no big deal" would probably work.
