MELBOURNE: 13th of February POST-GAME TL;DR: Success!!!! <3 Melbourne Anonymous met up on the 13th for our second anniversary celebration+protest and valentines day celebration. This was a protest of contrast, starting out a bit slow, this raid eventually got into full swing not too long after our awesome morale officer Kipmudton arrived and fully set up his awesome sound system. We started off at Flinders Street Station with a good number of new people arriving, thanks to some advertising we've done for the raids. About 25 people at the start of the raid. We began to get petitions signed straight away, lots of interest from the public here. (was an interesting, long, but overall useless convo) We were getting a good amount of feedback from the public here, so much that I thought we should stay here for longer. But due to the fact we weren't moving, things were in danger of losing momentum so we moved onto the State Library. Something which had A HELL of a lot of intensity. You shall see why soon. We arrived at the Org, and they INSTANTLY covered up the door, though we did get a chance to say hello briefly before they cowered. The highpoint of the Org was the following; it was so intense that I was almost brought to tears :O We continued afterwards, with a speech from Epic, and the playing of music, and getting signatures (OH GOD WE GOT ALOT OUTSIDE THE ORG) from people who were passing by going on their way to the AC/DC concert. We had a few loud, annoying people walk by (of course) but none the less we got a great response from the public there. Myself and a few of the Anons stood by the back entrance of the org, as we noticed Scientologists were waiting to leave. So as they walked out (or some in) we would try to talk to them. One of them was like "do you have any proof to back up your claims?" and I'm like "yes we have documentation" and he just sarcastically goes "yeah, sure" Good way to go a gainst your ARC triangle thing, scilons. I did a brief speech at the back door, using the megaphone, about disconnection and how we're just trying to help them and make it fair for them, (a kid probably all of 15 years old was standing in the doorway) [and he seemed a bit enturbulated by what we said] >: D either way TL;DR Flinders - Lots of signatures. Bourke - Lots of signatures State Library - break but met up with Paul Schofield the Org: FUCKING EPIC WINS
Re: MELBOURNE: 13th of February POST-GAME some photos i had to take out of the thread coz of the 10 photo limit:
Re: MELBOURNE: 13th of February POST-GAME God that shit with the cops bugging us about the masks was weird. I'm thinking it had something to do with that lulzy looking composite protest of Aboriginal Rights, Gay Rights, Socialiasts AND Anarchists all marching together at once. They had a police escort and maybe with all the trouble they were having to go to, to make sure things didn't turn ugly with those guys they were hoping that we would go away (or at least be sure to behave) with some mild police intimidation, so as not to add any further problems. All those drunken hooligan AC/DC fans probably were getting on their nerves too... Paul was FANTASTIC! That was some real hard hitting stuff there. Very hard for anyone to ignore and oozing with bittersweet truths (inb4Paul'sveryownAVO). I left shortly after his speech, nice to hear about the rest. I hope the young fella you guys saw in the doorway is having a long hard think about what he's in and maybe even having a tentative browse around sites like this one.
Re: MELBOURNE: 13th of February POST-GAME Nice. Don't forget to send those petitions into Xenophon's office, time is almost up for that.
Re: MELBOURNE: 13th of February POST-GAME i saw xenaphons speech on the news... everyone except a few were out for lunch when he made the speech.... it seems the only things polis are interested in nowadays is putting each other down and getting new votes... were we this fucked up before or did the howard years just sower everything and with kim beasley stepping down labour became more right wing or something? im too young to rember anything besides howard anyway...
Re: MELBOURNE: 13th of February POST-GAME Yeah what is the deal with the Senate? Do you have to rock up at all? I was sort of surprised at the major parties voting down Xenophons proposal but i suspect it is in the same mould as ze Germans decision not to ban the CULT. ie too small to matter.
