The Arab League observers reported to the League leaders that the Syrian troops have left the cities. However, the protestor representatives disagree with the observers by showing footage of Syrian troops and tanks staying in several Hama, Homs and Damascus suburbs. Critics of the League policies say that the League should withdraw its observers because they are useless. But the League are planning to sharply increase the number of observers.

I have no confidence whatsoever in the Arab League observers.

More and more wounded Syrian civilians, who were shot at during the demonstrations, are arriving in Lebanon in search of medical help. When they were interviewed by the BBC correspondents, they were covering their faces in fear of retaliation. Even a 5-year boy buried his face in his hands because he knows that his relatives, who are still in Syria, could be punished for his interview. The boy was wounded when he and his parents attended an anti-government demonstration.

But remember Demented LRH, when the Arab League observers were in Homs they didn't see anything to alarm them . . . :-(

An Arab League observer resigned in disgust saying that the conditions on the ground are getting worse; he does not want to help the Syrian government to conduct its anti-insurgent propaganda.
French journalist was killed in Syria, it is unknown who was shooting at him and his Syrian handlers.

Bahrain may not often make the MSM - maybe the fact that it's an ally of the West? But that doesn't mean nothing is happening there.

It would be a good idea if they supplied their own people food at a price they could afford instead.

BBC World News reported that Syrian troops are deliberately targeting children; 400 children have been killed since the anti-government demonstrations begun.
BBC correspondents interviewed 2 Syrian twins, boy and girl, who are currently hiding with their parents in Lebanon. the children have multiple gun shot wounds.
A 15-year-old was tortured and killed by the Syrian prison guards. His body has multiple bone fractures which are the signs of torture.
A 16-year-old was electrocuted several times before he was released from the jail. He thought he won’t make it out alive. He heard the women screaming in neighboring prison cells. He does not know whether they were being tortured or raped.

An American Middle East expert, Robin Wright, recently returned from Egypt. She said that in parliamentary elections 70% of the voters voted for Muslim Brotherhood. She also predicted that Muslim Brotherhood and the Egypt Army will try to form an alliance because both sides need each other.
In my opinion, if Muslim Brotherhood come to power as the result of free elections, they will never allow new elections in the future (Fatah and Hamas did just that).

Syrian government admitted that they cannot squash the armed opposition because their armed forces are spread too thin. The unrest continues in several Syrian cities simultaneously.

This is Syrian madness -- the country is rapidly approaching civil war, and yet the government are looking for nuclear materials.

    BBC World News:

On Sunday the Arab League observers gave their assessment of the Syrian situation to the Arab League. However, the assessment was not made public.

Some Arab League countries are willing to continue the observer mission for another month. However, Saudi Arabia and the Gulf countries have pulled their observers out of the observer team because they did not like the result of the mission.

It looks like the case is headed to the UN where Russia, who has the veto power, strongly supports Syrian government.

The unrest has spread to the Damascus suburbs.
