Herro - sometimes it seems your comments don't take into account what the poster is attempting to say. A poorly written comment is frustrating. Giving the benefit of the doubt sometimes makes them easier to take. For example, after reading the post you quoted, I inferred it to mean "Let's hope this is the end for scientology in Israel if Finkelstein gives up information on the cult's involvment as part of a plea deal. If so, the Israeli government would be justified in denying them the ability to operate there and effectively ban the cult."

Now, I know that's giving the poster a huge benefit of the doubt, but lots of us do that for you all the time. Sometimes it's better to ask if that's what the poster meant than just simply reacting.

    be'Itschik ha gadol - yaffo

    Dunno what be'Itschik is but...

gadol = extreme, very serious, very much

Yaffo = Jaffa (i.e. the town just south of Tel Aviv where the org was)

I see the name. I cannot read the posts. I get a headache when I see big walls of text. (Dyslexia).

This might be worth a probe:

    wonder if these are conincidences {BFFs of Scientology staff in Israel}

Is this a variation of the (Gur) Finkelsteen spelling: Assaf Finkelshtein

    Matan Gur

WTF is Matan? do they ever write the surname first?
  6. Anonymous Member

Itsik ha-gadol means Itsik (short for Ytzhak) the great
    Yaffo = Jaffa

In Hebrew the first name is written first. Here is the thing about the name Gur - it's actually a very common last name. And then people started giving it to their kids as a given name, sort of like in the US where in the south parents given their kids last name for a first name [Davis for example or Wayde].

    Assaf - it's a different first name.

Finkelstein can be spelled however you like to be spelled, as in Hebrew S and SH are the same letter. However, since this last name is of Germanic origin in German it's spelled Finkelstein

There is an interview with this guy that aired a few days ago. The expose was prepared even before the Finkelstein story, so it doesn't feature any of the Violet Wreath adventures. However this Sefi Fischler gave a very a la Tommy Davis interivew - "who is Xenu?", "we have 30,000 members only in Israel", "you're a biased reporter" and then he stormed out. I will try to prepare subtitles for this expose this weekend.

Saw one of our Isralianons post earlier in this thread AND am appreciating very much Bozuri's arrival here. Wondering what others there are hearing there as well. Is it time to do some education in the area of the ideal org?
  14. Anonymous Member

    Thanks Orson.
I don't know any Israeli anons because I no longer live in the area. An Israeli hacker recently joined WWP. His name is TheOnlyOne. I'm in touch with him, he might get some info for us. He actually posted here, saying that he wanted to protest and was looking for others to join him in Tel Aviv.

I never heard of this Michal chick, but she is totally a Scientologist. She is friends on thte facebook with Ella Schner, who is the head of Israeli CCHR.
Ella Schner was somewhat involved in a suicide of an Israeli scientologist who was mentally ill. On the last day of his life she took this guy on a road trip, instead of taking him to a hospital. When he got back home he hung himself.
Scher also appeared before commission of the Knesset [parliament] talking about the dangers of ritalin.

I got bored with all this and stopped, like an hour or so ago. Y'all carry on and do your excellent research.

You should scrape /save the friends lists (of the key people) before they are made private (and we have to rely on someone who works at Facebook to get all the info for us). Maybe try saving as web archives or maybe PDFs. (You probably have to be good wif computers).

Hopefully, when the Israeli authorities come to look at all this , they can get a judge to order Facebook to give all the details.

Scientology is huge in Israel; it is an extremely successful cult.

    More investigating:
So,in 2007, one of the leading Israeli newspapers [] reported that at the Soglowek factory in the North of Israel, the workers were forced to take Scientology classes, courtesy of one of the owners of Soglowek industries, Hanan Soglowek. Consequently, a member of the parliament Shmuel Halpert held a special parliamentary session, investigating the issue.
As a result of this investigation, Hanan Soglowek resigned. He subsequently sold his share in the company to Ami and Yael Soglowek for 110 million dollars. His daughter Karen also regisned.

  24. Haven't they seen Jan Eastgate talking about the Holocaust or haven't they heard LRH's lecture on the global conspiracy of bankers?

Once they drink the cool-aids, every time Scientology/Hubbard fails, it's part of a great conspiracy against them.

Additional people: Moti Morel, well known cut throat PR person. Used to consult the former President of Israel [who ironicaly was convicted of rape].
Morel was booed off stage once when he appeared in some event unrelated to Scientology, but his audience was that of religious Jews. They objected his ties with Scientology. He insisted that he wasn't a Scientologist.

My worlds collided slightly in that my favoritest radio station, WFMU, hosts a weekly talk show called Seven Second Delay, on which Tony Ortega was a guest this past Wednesday. Tony discusses Gur Finkelstein, as news of the arrest was breaking that day, and other Scientology topics. The show can be heard here with Tony coming on at around the 20:00 minute mark.

Thanks Tikk. I think somebody posted a separate thread about this radio show. It was pretty funny.

    1) A single individual out of a group of tens of thousands saying shit about the Holocaust is no reason to condemn the rest of that group.
    2) Why are you automatically assuming that a conspiracy theory involving global bankers is an anti semetic conspiracy theory?
  30. –L. Ron Hubbard, Aides Conference, "Covert Operations", 2 November 1969

He drops the "Jewish" bit from his rants about bankers thereafter but the overall tone of his remarks still resembles the "Protocols of the Elders of Zion".

Jan is just one example. It's doctrine bb. Ron says so.

It's okay to condemn a group that suggests the holocaust was caused by psychs. Hell, I condemn shriners just for those stupid hats.

When the individual doing it is high up in the organisation and is standing there drumming it into a larger audience of followers then it is very significant, especially if it is via LRH himself, who's very word in writings and lectures is the pseudo-religion's doctrine.

    He has my (virtual) sword.

    And my (virtual) axe.

Israel has enough "balagan gadol" without this vicious cult taking hold.

    Peace and Radio.
  37. Anonymous Member

I totally agree. Balagan gadol [giant mess] all the time.
But Scientology in Israel is pretty much focused in secular liberal Tel Aviv and pretends to be a business venture.

I found an article from the Globes business magazine from 2006, which lists all the front groups, all of which are named something like "X business consulting". There are about 30 of them, none are registered in the official register of companies. The reporter also called a couple of them, only to realize that thtey were operating from the same location and using the same phone numbers.
I'm hestitant to start translating this article, because it's from 2006 and somebody may have already done it.
    Any way to find out?

Globes also published two more articles about Scientology in October 2010
and March 2011, dealing with the Soglowek brothters:

Sorry, it's all in Hebrew, but it's good to have all the data collected in one place. Also, maybe my fellow Israeli anons here will help out with translation.

Rather than translating the whole thing from scratch,
maybe you could start from the Google Translate version, and clean that up?
