Street art is fantastic! Too bad it's not on their new building. I assume they still own this building as it sits empty.
The still derelict building purchased in 2007 for an eventual Montreal "ideal org" is presently classified as an office building, but an application has been made to reclassify it for religious usage on all floors except the street level. The application will be on the agenda of the Montreal Ville-Marie burrough council meeting on March 13, 2018 at 6:30 p.m. and open for comment. The requested change is no doubt designed to obtain an exemption from property taxes, which the Church of Scientology of Montreal has had difficulty paying in recent years. Here is the City of Montreal's February 24, 2018 notice (in French) concerning this and other applications for change of usage. Scientology's building is located at 176 Saint-Catherine Street East: http://applicatif.ville.montreal.qc.ca/som-fr/pdf_avis/pdfav24375.pdf
